only in spanish

my english accent is 10000 percent worse than my writting

so i really could be a football pundit
You should apply, am sure you're more interesting and insightful than most the BBC pundits

Ronaldo should do that more often, hardly see him go by defenders any more and make runs into the box from the wings. All he cares about doing is getting on the end of a pass/cross.

He would still score a tonne of goals if he played like more of a winger.

So he's being praised because he didn't shot in impossible situation when he had teammate wide open?

not only that, he also did a great move before giving the ball to chicharito

No, I think he did for the goal and should be praised for the move and assist, but he is actually being praised because he wasn't greedy, which is ridiculous. Only idiot would opt for shot in that situation.

He is adapting his game to compensate for the inevitable physical decline. 50 goals and 20 assists this season says that he is doing the right thing.

He is the best goal scorer in the world. I agree he has adapted in to a completely different player but his dribbling seems to have fallen off the cliff.

In fairness he was never great in tight spaces or when more than two players ganged up on him.

Don't quite understand the shite he gets. All of the truly greats (not world class but best in the world) have many things in common - talent, ego, holding teammates to a higher standard and most were just flat out dicks while playing.

This goes across sports and is not just applicable to football. These are the attributes that make them the so great - second place is not acceptable to them and they will do anything to be on top.

Many on here act as if it's a surprise that he has an ego.

It was one of the least exciting bits of goal scoring Real Madrid and Henry is basically getting down and fondling his cock over it. He may get a lot of assists but it still seems to be for the satisfaction of his own rampant ego.

Messi's the BPITW, arguably the BPOAT but he's not a dick.
Messi is apparently the biggest cnut off the pitch whereas Ronaldo is supposed to be a decent guy. A guy I know from school is now a 'grapher' and has been for the last 5 years. He follows celebs in all industrys but predominantly footballers in order to get them to sign things which he sells on. He's met pretty much every great footballer currently playing. According to him Messi never stops for fans and is very rude to even kids but Ronaldo always stops and has plenty of time for fans.
On the pitch they come across differently though I do admit.

Cynically you'd say Messi doesn't sign his shit. On pitch Ronaldo looks like the worst prima donna cuntbag while Messi looks like a team player (like nearly all the best people I played with).

50 goals and 20 assists is crazy, almost Messi levels of production and output. A lot of people would argue that right now he is better than ever and at his peak but his dribbling just seems so off. At United he had insane dribbling ability where he would carry the ball up the pitch and set up counter attacks but now he just seems to finish moves off a lot.

Well said. As I said few pages before, people don't like someone being great and being proud of it. Probably because most have average lives at best and hence someone who is v. good, if acts humble (even if he actually is a cnut like Messi), gives them false security that those who become very good are either through luck or unfair means. This is true not just in Ronaldo's case but anywhere. People don't like someone being so honestly proud of himself.

One is that and second specifically in football it is tribal mentality so people form allegiances and then try to rationalize and justify it through arguments. Holds true for almost all football fans.

How is he cnut exactly?
There are many examples, from reports of him wanting to be in-charge of everything, whether training or dressing room, Zlatan talking about him in his book and as bpet15 pointed a story above etc. Me, personally won't blame him if he wants control of things at Barca because in the end he wants it to win and that can help his club. The problem is, when he talks hypocrite shit like "I want to be remembered as humble guy." He obvious isn't.

Anyway, thats moving away from thread topic, it is about Cristiano. We can compare them in comparison thread but then again, who is humble and who is arrogant is hardly a point to be discussed over repeatedly. I was pointing out reason why people hate Ronaldo and for that giving example of someone who is not humble but 'acts' was necessary. I would rather someone who is good be arrogant than pretend to be humble.

But all those "examples" stem from Madrid biased media. Avid La Liga followers don't take rumours from the rival's camp seriously, as they are known for spouting bullshit. Spanish media hire lip readers to stir things up, even if it's a non-story. This is why the players and coaches are often seen covering their mouths when they speak. The likes of Villa and Zlatan have nothing but praise for him, even after they left. Zlatan even hugged him after the QF and was seen joking with him in the dugout during the group stages. As for that row between him and the coach this season, it was blown way out of proportions. With that said, he's no angel of course, but seems to me to be just a normal guy who is better at putting a damper on his emotions on the pitch (most of the time), unlike Ronaldo.

For keeping the thread on topic, I think he had decent game last night, considering four of their main creative outlets were missing. He tried more on his own and it was good to see him keep him trying, despite failing multiple times. He setup the winner too along with James, so here's credit where it's due.

I doubt that he practices dribbling now. He probably practices movement and finishing.

He is intelligent. He has lost a yard but is more productive than ever. I get the feeling that he has been planning for this phase of his career for a few years.

R.E. the celebration: it looked to me like at first he was looking up to his family in the crowd. James went one further and left the huddle of players completely and was motioning towards some people in the same section.

I thought Ronaldo played well last night. First time in a while I've seen him perform against Atletico.

Just watching the replay of the game and the commentator on ESPN just said "Ronaldo scored late in Lisbon last season, to save Real Madrid" haha didn't his goal make it 4-1?

Love watching the Athletico v Real games. Simeone could turn them into a proper dynasty if he had half of Real's budget.

Damn, for a second I thought it was a post by Cal? or SirAF.
