Thought I may as well go a bit different this time and go for a defensive player rather than an attacking player.

So here's my tip for a future star Mr.Baba

This lad is a very, very good player and will make a big transfer this summer. Hopefully he doesn't go to Chelsea/City!

Not enough goals and assists there. Do not want.

In any case, this is a general transfer forum. This lad is a special player so it'll be interesting to see where he ends up and seeing as the Caf are a well educated bunch when it comes to football. It's nice to let people know how good this kid is if he does end up at Chelsea/City.

I'm Ghanaian so logically I watched Gana at the ACoN, and I was so so impressed by him, I never heard of him so it was genuinely surprising to see him play that well, it was exciting to see that he's so young and plays at a midtable team in one of the best leagues in the world.

He's very fast, quite strong, quite tall for a lb, got very good ability, is clever, good on the ball, good attackingly and defensively. Saw him play vs Bayern the other day, and once again he was impressive, I didnt watch the whole match but he didnt put a foot wrong.

I think according to who scored or squawka or something, he also has quite a high rating so he looks a real prosprect.

I dont hope he moves to Chelsea or City, would love if if he went to Leverkusen or Gladbach, they compete for CL spots and he could be a starter there.

I could see him forcing his way into the starting lineup at Chelsea. Azpilicueta isn't the best going forward and he's right footed no?
At City he'd have Kolarov and Clichy as competition although I imagine one of those would be sold if he came in.

The only way he'd move to Leverkusen is if they sold Wendell. Gladbach isn't much of a step up from Augsburg and Dortmund have Durm and Schmelzer.

I can honestly see him doing really well at Chelsea tbh.

Too short. Speed less than 90 on FIFA. Do not want.

Gladbach is in a different class to Augsburg in everything. Augsburg would certainly prefer England, cause of the bigger transfer fee. For him a team that can provide a starting spot and regular international football would certainly be better than Chelsea, who´ll just view him as another trade asset. He can make another bigger move in two years. And if you shine on Gladbach, Leverkusen or Dortmund, you´ll always have a place at Bayernb Munich. They´ll probably move Alaba to midfield in 2-3 years anyway.

Well Gladbach did end third and have about 20 points more than Augsburg, they also have better players with the likes of Herrman, Kramer, Xhaka so I think it's a step up. They almost even came 2nd.

Azpi is rated as one of the best LB's in the league, I'd even think the best atm, he kept Filipe Luis out of the starting XI quite easily and Mourinho really rates him, I doubt he'll play him out of the team.

I wouldnt advice any young talent to go to City btw, they'll just buy someone new a few moments later or never give you a chance, Kolarov and Clichy also have much status, which is of high importance at City, that's why the likes of Nastasic, Jovetic couldnt break through.

Azpi can just go back to RB though which is his natural position. Zouma after all went to Chelsea in the summer and despite not setting the world on fire at Chelsea, he did manage 600mins odd. So you'd expect Baba could easily do the same. Ivanovic can't last forever!

As for City, they're a strange club but their LB position is one of their weak spots imo. Could certainly do with strengthening. I wouldn't mention Jovetic, that was always a terrible move for him because he'd never force his way into the first team ahead of the likes of Aguero/Silva/Toure/Navas etc. He was a fool to go there at that point in his career.

I don't really see any club in Germany going for Baba or more importantly being able to afford him when the bids come in from Europe. Juve would be an interesting destination.

There's truth in that, but if Azpi would go to the RB position, I think it would be more likely to use Luis as LB and Bertrand as back up/competition rathet than to buy a new lb.

It could be good for City, but just look at their first line up, there are no young players in it, its worrying.

Juventus would fit the bill, maybe not this summer, watching Evra in the CL, he was really immense. But he's getting older and Baba could maybe have an accustoming (?) season to get used to the club. At Juve they dont really play on reputation, so that seems like a good club for him imo.

I was actually thinking of creating this thread only yesterday. Baba Rahman surely one of the most low profile 'hot prospect' today. First time I saw him play was the U-20 WC two years ago where he was impressive, but then again Ghana have always had good fullbacks at that level so didn't pay much attention. However he's come on leaps and bounds since moving from Greuter Furth to Augsburg, which makes me think he's likely to improve further playing with even better players. Would love to see him here at Utd but I don't think he's ready to move to a top club as yet though. A move to a club like Valencia, Lyon, Roma would the next logical step. Probably after another year at Augsburg.

I'm Ghanaian...
A fellow Ghanaian on the Caf. Alas the Black Stars have a competent left back since er...Hans Sarpei?

what a weird music for such video compilation, first sounds like some film score and then some sick beats coming

the player looking like a great prospect

Southampton signed him for £10m in January

Watch this guy go to Chelsea or City for 50% of the money we paid for Shaw and turn out to be the new Alaba and Shaw to be the new Glenn Johnson.

:lol::nervous::(

I cant even remember our recent lb's xd.

Babaji ka thullu!

Seriously though, have read good things about him but never seen him play :D

So it begins...

Can't see this happening, the reported bid is €8m + €2m in potential bonuses. While Chelsea were lining up a £11m bid a few days ago.

I think Baba is a good young and promising player but I hope that he will stay in Augsburg for at least another season. FCA is a team that is all about the team chemistry really, their system is perfect and enables them to win a lot of games despite having "inferior" players on paper.
I am not sure that Baba would be able to replicate his form in a team like Dortmund, Chelsea etc.

Last year two very important players left Augsburg (Hahn and Ostrzolek) and both didn't show anywhere near as much in their new clubs (Hamburg and Gladbach).

I'm not saying the same will happen to Baba and I also heard he's doing well with the National team but I think it's a risk spending a lot of money on him now, it's only his first season in the Bundesliga as well.

May as well bump this given its a month on from the last post.

Looks like it's a PL tug of war between Chelsea, City and Arsenal with Chelsea leading the race.

He looks impressive.

This is problem with buying English players. Luke Shaw cost us £30m, while this guy will probably go for no more than £15m. Chelsea picked up Azpi for just £7m!!!! Buying English players makes no financial sense for clubs. Then you have the HG quota that clubs are obligated to fill, but that isn't doing much for English players because all it's done is create a situation where clubs like City are resorting to buying English players just to make up the numbers. Fabian Delph is in the headlines today. Perfect example.

I'd be happy if he moves to Roma. Good step up in class from Augsburg and will most likely be a starter since Roma don't have a left back.
A move to Chelsea now will stagnate his development.
