American Cops Doing What They Do Best

Am I seeing things or does one of the cops pull out a gun from his pocket around 30 seconds? And only puts it away when he realises he's being filmed.
Yea I noticed that.
Edit: Actually, might not be a gun. Might be a taser/stun gun?

And I noticed one of the officers smirking when the guy was face down on the pavement.

There's also a black cop there just standing around like a little cuckold.

What does the police officer hold in the car window at the end? Was it a knife? When he says 'did you get that on camera??'

Yeah that one cop that punches him in the face repeatedly after he's in cuffs is the same one who smirks at the guy filming, probably realises he cant beat the shit out of him.

At the end it looked like a knife, cant imagine a gun being that small.

The black cop obviously doesn't want any involvement.

This video is 5 years old, and still things aren't much different

Oh wow - didn't even notice it was that old. Saw it this morning on my fb news feed with a raft of new comments etc from the last day or so, and thought it was recent. My bad.

I think the age of the video only highlights that this kind of brutality has been going on for years.

I'm interested to hear what you think of this guy and the things he says in this interview. If any of it (even 10%) is even remotely true, then the US is in a much worse state that I thought it was.

This is actually an amazing, very compelling video. This very impressive ex cop with an equally impressive military and law enforcement past starts to speak out on some very uncomfortable truths about policing in Baltimore, and in America. Very telling the part where he talks about getting transferred to the entitled white bread suburbs and having his hands tied about getting his arrest quotas cause you just can´t start doing that kind of policing in the privileged white areas, so he´d dip back into the hood to get his arrest record back up to scratch.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry...-this-is-a-homicide_55b142b6e4b07af29d57ed65?

The part about the "large amount" of marijuana in her system is interesting. It could explain why he asked her to put out the cigarette if he thought he could smell weed and it could potentially explain why she was so unnecessarily agitated at getting pulled over (other than her supposedly being an activist). She blatantly committed the moving violation and knows she did. What's the point in getting upset over that?

Alternatively, it could be irrelevant.

Then there is this footage.

The first video isn't Sandra Bland, it's this video dated in 2014 of a homeless woman, still terrible treatment mind you.

Based on that, I wouldn't be inclined to believe that the second video is anything sinister.

I'm sure some deeply fishy things have happened in this case, but a cop putting a tissue in a bin doesn't immediately strike me as one of them. We're getting into Loose Change territory with a lot of this stuff.

That's Sandra Bland's facebook page - the first thing that resonates is her activism regarding the police brutality against black people.
Her instagram & facebook videos were often based around the topic, and she would usually start the video with "Good morning Kings & Queens" with a broad smile on her face. She doesn't come across as someone who is in a depressed state - of course we never know what is really going on with someone behind the scene, and the bravado they choose to show but I still don't believe that someone would travel across the country, accept a new job, and tell her family and friends how happy she is in her life, would take her life willingly.
Freddie Gray died as a result of the injuries he sustained whilst in police custody, and it's not as though it's never happened any other time.

The dashcam video, plus the false reporting of the incident, and her sudden suicide just doesn't resonate with me, but i'll wait for more facts.

Thanks.

The first Facebook post doesn't say it's Sandra Bland either. It's the way he phrased it that made me think it was her in the video. Looking through the comments of the first video, it seems like he convinced everyone else it's Sandra Bland too.

Both sides of this are doing everything they can to discredit the other side, including resorting to dirty tactics if they have to. It makes it difficult for those of us in the middle who just want to know the real truth.

Yeah he edited the post to make it that way 10 minutes ago - after he gained 20k followers and 6million views, before that he said it was Sandra.
Unfortunately there's people out to discredit and distract people purely for their own personal gain & notoriety.

The autopsy listed 30 scars/lacerations around her wrists that are consistent with self-harming. Clearly she had issues, regardless of how she presented herself to the outside world. Using social media as a means of determining her mental state is pretty much useless. Example: there was a Ivy League athlete who jumped off a building despite all of her Twitter, Instagram, Facebook posts, etc. being happy and positive. So many people kill themselves and their family "never expected it."

Very true, but the illegal arrest and subsequent detention is very likely to have been the final straw. Somebody has to pay for that.

True, which is why I said there are outliers, but they are most certainly not the common outcome of suicide cases. Apparently she has attempted suicide in the past, I can't credit a source I'm on my phone and the boss is buying drinks but I definitely read about it yesterday.
And 'scars' tend to refer to wounds that are old rather than fresh ones. So if she did attempt to kill herself previously that would explain the scars but certainly wouldn't be conclusive proof that she killed herself in this occasion.
It just seems convenient that someone who was illegally arrested and mistreated by the cops, who appears to have a history of depression and mental illness suddenly decides to kill themselves whilst in police custody. Despite accepting a new job and moving all the way across the country.

Like I said I'll wait for more facts to come to light but I'm not holding my breath considering the police officer lied on the original report to begin with, and lots of similar cases get swept under the rug in time.

And regardless of whether you agree if she killed herself or not, she shouldn't have been arrested in the first place. And even after her arrest if she supposedly was so mentally unstable she should've been under stricter supervision.

I agree, very disturbing seeing loads of comments saying "she had no reason". Completely missing the point regarding mental illness.

I found the stuff about her switching lanes to allow the tailgating police car to pass by, and the police officer and the person tasked with the internal investigation having past racial issues interesting. It's the first I've heard of this, so not entirely certain how accurate it is.

Interesting take on the situation though, some of which we have been saying in here.

I see the media starting more riots for no reason but that's expected until the day they are made responsible

What the feck is that! Hog-tying a prisoner and dragging her like a fecking dog.

she couldn't walk, she was hog tied like an animal and when he untied her she probably lost all feeling in her legs.

Restraints like that get used when a person is being violent. Based on that footage, the only thing I see wrong is that he should have had other officers to help carry her. If someone gets arrested or put in a car and they try kicking windows out, or kicking an officer, they have restraints.

An officer at the University of Cincinnati has been indicted on murder by a grand jury concerning the shooting death of a black driver. Video has not been released yet, but UC cancelled all classes today and sent non-essential personnel home. Apparently the video is that bad.

It was released about 20 minutes ago, apparently the cop gets his gun out, reaches in and grabs him so the guy puts the car into gear to move away and the cop shot him in the head. The car then rolled and crashed, the man was dead immediately. The victim wasn't acting violently at all.

Ah it has? Cheers, I didn't see anything on the web yet.

Not justifying the shooting but watching CNN now and they have an expert saying the stop was valid as Ohio is a two tag state. Should note this expert also says based on the evidence the shooting was not justified.

The cop seemed okay up until he went to open the door. Before that he seemed to be calmly asking questions. Then he just snaps in a flash and murders the car's driver.

The 2nd officer has backed the first officers story even claiming the first officers uniform showed damage from being dragged. Tape shows nothing of the sort happened. Wonder if 2nd cop will be in some hot water?

The second cop is under investigation according to the prosecutor.

Do tag laws only apply to vehicles that are registered in that state? I've been in Columbus multiple times with my one tag car. Never been pulled over.

I would guess if you were visiting from a one tag state you should be ok. Was the murder victim from out of state?

fecking should be.

I still don't understand why universities need their own police forces with guns and riot gear. That tool who pepper sprayed UC Davis students a couple of years ago was university police and he was in full riot gear. Some have APCs too, machine guns, the works.

This country is so fecked up.
