How does that not create a conflict of interests when they play each other twice a season. Not with ethics or cheating in mind but purely in VFM for the fans … the sponsors must favour one over the other?
To be fair, when we were heavily linked with him, a lot of 'experts' on him popped out of the woodwork. I think all clubs have fans like this.

Not really. Remember Chevrolet used to sponsor both United and Liverpool at the same time (though not on Liverpool's shirts) and used the rivalry to push their chevroletfc website. From the sponsor's point of view its purely about getting the brand out there and two or more football teams means more people seeing the logo.
