Manchester United are considering taking Real Madrid’s strike starlet
Borja Mayoral as part of any deal for David de Gea, according to reports from
ESPN.
The Red Devils’ stopper has been expected to complete a move back to his homeland all summer, but, as of yet, a breakthrough between the Premier League and La Liga juggernauts has not been reached.
United are reluctant to let their man leave for a cut-price fee regardless of the fact that his contract expires in less than 12 months’ time, and had been
insisting on a swap deal involving Sergio Ramos before the centre-back committed to a new deal in Madrid.
However, the deal is not yet dead, and
reports claim that the club are considering Mayoral as a makeweight.
The 18-year-old forward is yet to make a competitive outing for Real’s senior side, but scored seven goals in seven games for their Castilla reserve outfit in last season’s UEFA Youth League and finished as the top scorer at the 2015 U-19 European Championship with three efforts to his name in five matches.
The teenager has been likened to Real icon Raul and it considered to be one of Los Blancos’ best young talents.
Although young, he could add depth to United’s striker ranks, with Wayne Rooney short of back-up.
Anyone heard of this lad?
