Can someone tell me how the 3rd place playoffs work in the euro qualifiers now? I know there are 9 groups, how many playoffs are there and which 3rd place teams get to play in them? I'm guessing it's the 8 best 3rd placed teams?

Dzeko and lulic the only two who played well for us in that game. Can't have that many underperformers away to Belgium. Stupid individual mistakes and being way too defensive in the first half probably cost us.
Wasn't expecting much more then a draw anyways, and 1 point won't make a huge difference. We need to win our last 3 games, and we should be winning all of them (home to Wales, home to Andorra and away to cyprus). Do that and we should finish 3rd, leaving us in the play off.

He's been a solid defender for a couple seasons now but I could see this being his 'Fonte season', where the pundits and fans take note of him as one of the better CB's in the league.
And Holland haven't lost a home qualifier since 2000 against Portugal.

Would it be fair to say that Bale has single handedly taken Wales to Euros (assuming qualification is inevitable)?
I know players like Ashley Williams have been great, but it does appear that Bale has been doing with Wales what he did with Spurs in his final season. Still can't believe that we (United) didn't do all that we could to sign him this summer.

It's moreso that way because he's really an incredible player than anything. He'd stand out in nearly any team in world football.
He stands out at Real Madrid, but more so for having lesser ability.
Looking at the quality of Wales opposition I certainly wouldn't get carried away. Good header tonight, but he wasn't really challenged and he's only had to get it on target with the keeper being wrong footed.

Wales have had some top draw players over the years (Giggs, Hughes, Rush etc) to prop up what is usually a very limited squad, but none have ever come close to Bale in terms of what he can do for the team...well not since perhaps John Charles in the 1950s, but that was another era. He's on another level. I remember watching Giggs play for Wales and he was usually utterly useless when things weren't going well for the team - then the following week he could put in a MOTM performance for Man United because of the players around him. Bale doesn't need anyone else because he's good enough to win games by himself. I would go as far as to say that Bale has overtaken Giggs as a player.

Quiet game from him on the whole today, but came up trumps when we needed him once again. Fantastic header. Defence is a rock. 2 goals conceded in the whole campaign. Williams is fantastic for us, Hennessey is unbelievably calm as well. Just collects crosses from the air with ease.

Really can't believe I'm going to see Wales in a major competition. Amazing. Good, because players like Bale, Neymar, Messi, Ronaldo, Suarez should always be in them.

Bale is the star but the rest of the team deserve massive credit. Robson-Kanu is a good foil for Bale and the defensive organisation from Coleman is very good with Ashley Williams the leader. They haven't conceded a goal from open play so far in this qualifying campaign. The one disappointment for me is Ramsey.
I've never seen the Northern Lights as big as they are outside my house right now. Covering up a third of the sky. The Æsir must be pleased with the national team.
