Yeah, they have made massive improvement over the past few years. Having a player like Bale who is ready to take the initiative on his own helps a lot obviously. Its going to be fantastic to see theWelsh make it to the finals. Hope they do it in style.
I wouldnt mind Depay having the Summer off..Tonight I'm supporting Holland, Croatia, Czech, Bosnia, Italy, Belgium, Wales and Iceland! Come on lads!

It gives someone else a chance to step up..I tend to find that duuring major tournaments I am more willing to watch the lesser countries that I normally wouldnt..I wouldnt really miss the Netherlands, especially with their current perfomances. The Euros would be less glamorous without The Netherlands though.
Isn't it a two face sword though? Getting good rest vs getting good experience in pressure situations against top team and defense?I wouldnt mind Depay having the Summer off..
Yes , I thought of that..But I feel like he will end up playing too much football for us this season, that an extra summer of football means that we could suffer for it next season..the Dutch are a nice team, but United all the way..How many of our player have we had playing international tournaments, other than maybe Ronaldo and Rooney in 06, and Beckham in 98, have benefited from those tournaments for us? And two of those played better because of needing to prove a point after those tournaments too, rather than the experience helping them imo.Isn't it a two face sword though? Have they no chance of qualification if they lose?Netherlands are so so bad this time around. And people were blaming LvG for being defensive with them. Being defensive is probably their only chance for getting result esp with no Robben.
If they lose today, they will even struggle to finish 3rd in their group which is the minimum (i think) required to be in playoffs to qualify. It is almost impossible for them to have direct qualification.Have they no chance of qualification if they lose?
Yeah, same for me. Plus it'd be nice to see Blind and Memphis in summer too.As poor as they've been, would be a real shame if Holland missed out on the Euros. Always like seeing the big names in the mix.

I think experience, mostly big game experience is very important for players to progress. Blind and Depay are both quite young and experience is bound to help them and even ignite them.Yes , I thought of that..But I feel like he will end up playing too much football for us this season, that an extra summer of football means that we could suffer for it next season..the Dutch are a nice team, but United all the way..How many of our player have we had playing international tournaments, other than maybe Ronaldo and Rooney in 06, and Beckham in 98, have benefited from those tournaments for us? Yeah, that Memphis cross was tasty. At least Holland are knocking on the door, two decent chances now
Blind has world cup experience though..I get that, and agree but im weighing it up against the cons of the games..I can see Depay getting 40 plus game this year..Plus I dont mind them not making it , they have been that poor and seem to be getting even worse..I'm not necessarily a fan of the underdog, but its a great stories to see this new countries qualify..great experience for their fans too...I think experience, mostly big game experience is very important for players to progress. Depay their only real creative outlet and a Sneijder well past his sell-by date. What is wrong with Holland, Im assuming that without Robben they have zero good talent right now, that or inexperience?
I can spot 4 Englishmen in this Wales XI. 4 men that thought they had no chance in the England squad and are now higher than them in the world rankings.
Over Smalling?Ashley Williams the best current English Centre-back by a fair margin at the moment.
Fair point. But I think pros conquer the cons in this case. About the underdogs, it'd be nice to see then get in but I think the favorites are usually going to be the big games in later stages of tournament so at least a team with experience has more chance of causing the upset than the one without such experience, except the team is greatly talented (Czech republic of '96 comes to mind).Blind has world cup experience though..I get that, and agree but im weighing it up against the cons of the games..I can see Depay getting 40 plus game this year..Plus I dont mind them not making it , they have been that poor and seem to be getting even worse..I'm not necessarily a fan of the underdog, but its a great stories to see this new countries qualify..great experience for their fans too...
