Van Gaal: The verdict

  • 1) Sack him now.

  • 2) Sack him at the end of the season.

  • 3) Let him see out his contract and part ways after that.

  • 4) Extend his contract.

  • Undecided (between 1 and 2).

  • Undecided (between 2 and 3).

  • Undecided (between 3 and 4, if things improve before his contract expires, extend).

Results are only viewable after voting.
A massive failure to not make it out of that group. His decision to take Mata off was bizarre, especially since Powell has done feck all.

Injuries are unfortunate but for all the investment he's made, our squad is very poor in terms of quality. If Pep or Ancelotti are available, I wouldn't hesitate sacking Van Gaal.
 
You wanted attacking football and to hell with the result as long as we attack, well here we are and the LVG out brigade still complain. If you want him out, surely this is the ideal result for you? Well done.
 
He isn't going to be sacked so keep on dreaming.

People want mildly positive football that doesn't result in 0-0 draws constantly. They don't want to see defeats. Massive difference.

It was an awful match, with the injuries and the horrible luck. But everytime I always see it as LVG 100%, the player dindu nuffin did they? They have been even more embarassing.

I hadn't realised that attacking football somehow meant we lost our ability to defend set pieces...
 
Not sure who would have done better with the injuries. But he's in charge of training and hiring physios, so at some point the buck falls to him.

That's not what I've been hearing, they just want attack attack attack and then deny to your face that football is not a results based sport.
 
I'll put it this way, what's the point in keeping him around?

Signings have been inadequate, performances inadequate and now results inadequate as well.

He brought that on himself by getting us in this position in this group. I won't mind us going out if that would mean we see the back of this charalatan by the end of the season.
 
I've never said LVG out before and still wont yet but I demand an explanation for those subs and this team selection. Is he some agent that wants to destruct our team?
 
His possession philosophy is supposed to control the game, not ship out 3 fecking goals.

Terrible manager. We want to give him another 200m to spend? You got to be fecking kiddin' me. Spends 250m and we have Powell replacing Mata, Blind as a CB and Varela- & CBJ as our FB's. Shocking stuff.
 
What a time to think that Nick fecking Powell could make a difference.

Finally we can moan about him in peace without his defence team coming in and going on about laying foundations and good results bollocks.

I don't know many people who want all out attack without restraint, just a style that brings the best out of players. The way we set up with the front 4 from the start didn't need Fellaini/Scwein leaving holes all over the midfield. That was a tactical decision given it was never stopped. Plus injuries in defence haven't helped. But I can't believe for one second the choice is either what we've been seeing in recent games or leaving ourselves needlessly open through the middle and I don't know of anyone who wants a mindless attach.

We should still beat the likes of West Ham, Boro, PSV, Leicester. Or you know what, scrap that. We should be able to create chances against those teams, something we haven't done. We play the most boring football in Europe and now there's no results to show for it.
