We managed to win a game, but I'd be lying if I said I felt anything more than a shred of relief. That was hardly an improvement, we just got some luck.

Me and the auld lad just broke into manic laughing after that Fabianski header, I think watching United has gradually turned us insane.

I'll get dogs abuse for saying this I'm sure..

But I don't take pleasure in that victory. Barely deserved the win, shite play and Swansea are a terrible side let's be honest.

Martial is a level beyond our squad at the moment. Shocking that a 20 year old is the only player we can really rely on for a bit of magic.

Rooney still pretty useless but scored a good goal which seems completely out of character (which says it all).

Don't know where the hell the centre-backs where for the Swansea equaliser.

It's a reserved position from me. Chelsea and Swansea are awful and I fear the worst when we face a reasonable side again.

Unlucky for the ones who wanted us to lose.

This. You can tell there's a few on here who held back a bit when Rooney scored.

We go through patches in the game of looking dominant and on the verge of opening the deadlock, and then just go through patches of just pure headless, dull crap.

It's annoying, but a win is a win.

Still a bit rubbish, although an improvement in the second half.

One thing that has been evident in the last couple of games is that LVG has finally given the full backs licence to get forward, it's so important when you've got wingers who want to come inside and a central midfield that is just going to sit. Why it has taken this long for something so obvious to happen is anyone's guess.

Much better performance from our players, more purposeful in our possession, especially the second half.Carrick should have been brought in much earlier.

We won but i didn't really feel our performance was any different than normal

I've no idea what formations we was playing throughout that?

There was the odd decent move in between the usual crap but that was about it. Nice to finally have a bit of luck though.

Though Young and Martial were very good. Young definitely deserves a run at playing on the right wing after that and considering how others are playing.

Thought Rooney was poor but the goal was very well taken. Hopefully give him a kick up the arse.

We definitely look livelier. If we can sustain this level of performance and luck, we can definitely make inroads back into the top 4. Its just a question of whether we're performing above expectations at the moment because we're at home. We looked better than Liverpool though.. but we are heavily reliant on Martial.

Without him, Ashley Young is probably our most dynamic threat.

First half was awful. Second half a bit better but our attacking play is still very "dead". Martial obviously class. Makes you think of how good he would be at a club like Arsenal who play with pace and make loads of chances if he plays like this for us all the time. Rooney much improved. Young a threat all day and actually put in good crosses for once. Everyone else was pretty meh. Herrera looked lively and simply has to play always, same with Schneiderlin.

Hanging on for a 2-1 win against a Swansea side with no manager and low on confidence at Old Trafford though... You still expect a lot more.

Some nice attacking football at times.

Swansea caused problems due to some really poor passing.

Have no idea why we started so slow. Fergie use to say the same, he could never understand why the players would often go into slow mode. Look quite good when we play at a high tempo.

Not sure the 3-2-4-1 really worked in first half. But itt did give Young the platform to perform. Looked better when we moved to a back four.

Jones playing for a transfer at this rate, he has been very poor. McNair causes more panic than necessary when in the defense. Smalling had a really poor game.

I could ramble on about Anthony Martial being our saviour, Rooney not actually being very good (but fair fecks to that finish) and a whole bunch of other things but it's irrelevant. 4 words sum up that game...

Thank feck for that.

We just won for the first time in ages, just fecking enjoy it.

Much better second half urgency wise, but when we take a lead, it becomes perfectly clear just how shaky our defence really is.

Getting the three points was all that mattered, though, so let's just enjoy our first win since October's Watford game.

Thank f*ck that Fabianski header didn't go in in the last second.

Much needed win. Not that great a performance overall but liked the fight shown by players. Win in FA cup vs Sheffield and players can get good confidence going into tough fixtures away to Newcastle and Liverpool.

Started well and then did our customary fade, but came out renewed in the second half and took the lead, more impressively we rebounded to win the game after Swansea pulled level which is a good sign of the mentality in the team at least.

It wasn't anything to get overly excited about but baby steps are better than nothing.

A narrow victory at home to Swansea feels way better than it should! Next time we do win the league is going to be such a buzz.

we got luck but we missed a rake load of decent chances and really conceded out of the blue to a brilliant header. I think on a different day we could have drawn 1-1 but also on a different day we are 3-0 up by half time

We won, but we were fortunate. They could have had a few in those last few minutes. They really should have equalised with that last corner. United shouldn't be backs to the wall for the last 10 minutes at home to a team in 17th place. Not sure why we don't revert to the soul-sucking possession when we're in the lead. We just hoof it and sit deep and invite the opposition to win equalise/win the game.

Were Young and Jones injured? We have a habit of messing with the back four during a game, and very few of them appear to be because of injury.

A most welcome result, nothing more than a decent performance. We should be beating this Swansea team comfortably and we nearly let them back into the game.

A big improvement from Rooney today which was refreshing to see, and that's not including the goal. Martial was my man of the match, though I understand the people who vote for Young too.

Finally a win. We looked very shaky near the end, but let's hope this win will spark a return to form.

Not sure why people are saying nothing has changed. It's quite obvious that in the last two matches we've reduced the 'possession for the sake of possession' ideal and started playing a bit more directly.

Is it good enough? Maybe not. But it's a step in the right direction, and if we can get a boost of confidence from that then hopefully we can improve further going forward.

Was also probably the hardest I've ever seen Mata work.

LvG throughout his tenure here has been the master of doing just about enough to not be completely fecked.

Desperately needed that win. It felt like we were stuck in an endless rut of poor results. But a victory and 2 goals at home should help our confidence.

This had better be a turning point now. I don't expect a massive improvement straight away but there has to be continued signs of recovery in the team. We've been dire for too long.

Winning is always fun. We played much better than City did against swansea. I could care less about playing amazing football anyway.

Great. No need for a new manager and goalscorer now, obviously...

First half was much of the same, second half we increased our tempo. Young made some very good crosses, for all that Rooney has been slated for in the past he actually played well today.

Not going to be over critical. We made it difficult for ourselves with them scoring and thankfully we managed to go up the other end and score.

We have the 3 points that's all that matters.

Still the same shit. Except we were lucky enough to score 2 goals this time around.

LVG out. Pep or Mourinho in. Don't even care if Giggs is caretaker.

We aren't making top four the way we are playing right now. Its just not happening.

Don't think so, you will actually find a lot of people agree with you. But a win after 9 games is such a relief. This means LVG will stay and his apologists will continue to make noise but looks like we will have to put up with them for the rest of this year.

We were actually ok going forward in the second half, and taking a lead in itself, and then managing to win, would be huge for our confidence.

Happy we won. All I care about at the moment. So wound up with the shit season so far that I've abandoned hoping for good consistent performances. Just want us to eek out the wins as much as possible. Forgot what it felt like to see us score:(:D

How far have we dropped? That we are now relying on Ashley Young as our sole creative player. The same Ashley Young that didn't even make the 18 man squad at times under Fergie.

We were rubbish, we actually played better against Chelsea where we were more direct. This game we reverted back to the slow pointless possession football.
