Willian

Was pretty good against Tottenham too. Played a nice ball through to Pedro that he nearly reached. Certainly offers more then what has been stated on here going forwards.

His offensive stats show different.

2 goals and 1 assist in the league - any from open play?

He's completely average. Runs fast and works hard, is good technically and excellent at set pieces, but there's nothing else there. He's not a top class player and never will be. If he's Chelsea's best player for the rest of the season then it's been a horrible, horrible year for you.

If chelsea dont make the champions league, would any of their players push for a transfer?

I guess you have to look at our players when we failed to make it. Not many big players left for that reason really.

Could be different at Chelsea though - all depends how much they love the club they play for.

But it did by all accounts hamper our reputation in the Mercenary circles, even from that one season out there was talk of this player or that player preferring somewhere else.

Hazard went to Chelsea almost exclusively because they won the champions league.

Most are on big long term deals. Others can feck off truth be told.

Only problem with his game at the moment is movement off the ball in attacking play. He's attracted to the ball all to often, doesn't create space for himself sometimes.

Still wrong. @iBoss

nope, he is right. Willian is easily the better player. Coutinho is a great talent and i like to watch him but i would hate to have him in my team. His decision making is atrocious, 90% of the time he tries the most difficult and most attractive solution, fails most of the time and then when he finally gets it right he is called a magician.

He's not better than Coutinho. And even Coutinho isn't that good.

The underrating of Willian continues  very good player, complete and really no harm in having him in any squad.

He pops up every third or fourth game with a wonder strike or a nice dribbled run but when he needs to consistently step up when Liverpool need him to - i.e this whole season - he's nowhere to be seen. Loves to shoot all the fecking time too. Most shots per game at 4.3, with only 5 goals all season. He actually has less goal/assists contributions than Mata this season. Not quite the to the level 'Barcelona-bound, la' that I've seen posted around here by a few Liverpool fans. Bit like how Hazard was somehow destined for Madrid.

Coutino is the most overrated player in the premierleague, and I quite like the guy, but he is simply not that good. I don't know if he would be much better with better teammates, but considering level of his performances for Liverpool he would never play for top club with the way he plays anyway. He is your perfect highlights player, tries killer pass 90% of the time and it's effective around 5% of the time. You'll hear good stuff about him all the time but more often than not he'll leave you disappointed when actually watching the game instead of just highlights. The fact that he gets substituted for Liverpool quite often tells you a lot(especially last season and before that when the hype started, and he wasn't even regular starter for Liverpool ffs).

Btw, I think he is great talent, bigger than Willian, but he needs to improve a lot.

I'm not a team ;)

I'd take him, but that's more indicative of the quality of my team's attacking players than Willian's ability.
I think he is a good player. He would be a good squad option for a team like Bayern and Barca and for the lower rung of teams would be a deserved first teak player. I definitely rate him higher then Coutinho currently.

Also think he has majorly improved his end product which was his one major weakness. Certainly is now one of the better players in the league.

Coutinho has been below-par this season. Fantastic talent that needs to add consistency to his game. Still better than Willian though

Nah Willian is the better player without doubt. I rate Coutinho highly but I'd pick Willian over him every single day.

How is he better then Willian? His all round game and consistency is lower and this season William has arguably been the bigger match winner (The one thing Coutinho did have over him).

He's not Willian.

Even without the end product take into account, he is still a very good player. Good ball retention, good technique and unlike many Chelsea players, he's been consistent and never hides during games. I'll never understand why he is so underrated on the caf. Maybe it's the hair which reminds people of Fellaini.

Both stats are quite incredible aren't they?

He has the highest shots per game ratio in the league by some distance, and his shooting is actually quite poor(in before someone posts few good goals he scored out of 1000 shots he took over last year or so).

As for the second thing, I am quite sure many here would swap him for Mata just because he scores decent goal from time to time and no one would bet that Mata is much more efficient than him even this season.

The most impressive thing about Willian is the fact that he actually kept playing with a bit of heart and effort while the rest of his team mates were phoning in performances.

Wonder how Willian will look with Pellegrino in charge next season if the rumors are true about us wanting him :nervous:

Liverpool would have more points with Willian in the squad than we have with Cou in the squad...

*Hides*

No thanks. Conte, Allegri and Sampaoli should be considered over him.

I'd have Pellegrino over any of them, tbh. At least he knows the PL and has won it (possibly will again this season) and plays attacking, attractive football.

He is tactically shit and has had a plethora of stars underperforming at City. He would get walked all over by our players. We need a disciplinarian in the mould of the other three. Obsessive, organisers who prioritize tactical intelligence and structure.

One word meaning of that statement - Simeone.

Still maintain anyone else is a step down from Jose and pellegrino in this context is the same as falling in a ditch.
