The Spurs thread

I hope Levy loses his mind and then decides to sack Poch. The decision backfires and Kane, Eriksen also hand in transfer requests. Poch comes to Utd,a dn we sign the 2 Spurs players.
Dreaming a lot. Should go to sleep

Can't see them losing any of the core members of their squad. Their players ala Kane, Alli, Rose, Eriksen, etc can only improve.
Not this Summer anyway. I think most of the players will remain for next season's champions league. But they will leave, and some of this players won't improve. We saw that with Liverpool, some of them will regress too again.

As I suspected then. Spurs to end the season potless, other than the We beat United trophy that Glaston was crowing about a few weeks ago.

Good.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the EL campaign next season. Armenia is lovely in the Autumn.

Bloody hell, it's Noel Coward.

Seriously though, it's a shame both Leicester and Spurs can't win the title, as both have been excellent.

They did sort of do a bit of an Arsenal this season. They haven't won more than 2 in a row since February. The loss to West Ham where they would have gone top if they'd won was the beginning of the slide.

Nah, it's not anywhere near an Arsenal. They've lost more points than they ideally should have, but they've still only lost one of their last 14, and while they haven't won more than two in a row since the end of February, it's more been because of draws against Arsenal and Liverpool, and a defeat to West Ham. They've picked up 33 points in their last 14 games overall, so that can hardly be described as bottling it like Arsenal, especially when they were never actually in a prime position to win it.

It's never a shame that Spurs can't win the title. Doubt they'll ever get a better opportunity than this season either. Hard to imagine United, Liverpool, City, Chelsea and Arsenal, all being so wank at the same time, ever again. Not with Klopp, Conte, Guardiola, and probably Mourinho as their managers. On the positive side, Arsenal will presumably still have 'title-challenge averse' Wenger next season.

All the other side will undoubtedly improve, but I see no reason as to why Spurs won't compete again with their current squad next season. They'll probably make some decent additions in the summer and players like Alli and Kane will presumably continue to get better.

No doubt, don't disagree at all. But there's no way the bigger clubs will continue to be a non-factor like this season. And that changes everything.

Yeah, this season was certainly a better chance for them than next season will be. Still think they could compete, so it'll be interesting to see what happens.

Perfectly normal for Spurs to choke it up. Expected that to happen a lot earlier tho, so fair fecks to them it was brilliant campaign.

I don't see them mounting a challenge however after this one.

You don't deserve top4 if you can't win WBA at home in crucial part of the season, let alone the title.

Errr...you remember the score when Leicester played them, right?

We'll sure enjoy being the most decorated team in the league than being a side step Londoner. Even Chelsea and Man City are more decorated than Spur. Shocking!

Enjoy your CL participant moral trophy, and try not to lose it next season or your players woul be thirsty and leave you.

Edit: No disrespect to other Spur fan. This is only aiming at those who try to wind up.

Finally put to bed tonight which whilst being very disappointing will give us a chance to take stock. We need 2 points to be sure of automatic qualification into the CL group stages and 4 to be almost certain of 2nd either of which is more than we hoped for in August.

And fingers crossed thank feck we won't have the burden of being in that feckin EL group stage next season.

We'll be back in it next year, don't see anybody to fear except probably City who I can see massively improving.

Their manager too!

The best defence and best attack in the league says otherwise. But you certainly deserve your "possession football" under LvG. It's possessed you all the way to your 2nd finish outside the top 4 in 3 seasons, besides being boring as hell. But never mind, you can count all the money in the bank instead.

Yep you'd know a thing or two about it, having been in the competition for the last 10 years or so.

Awww, look at Glaston trying to big up his team to a United fan.

Spurs are a nothing club.

We deserve top 4, we deserve 2nd which is where we will likely finish and that's pretty bloody good. We came up a little bit short at certain moments in the season but what really done for us was our terrible start. To overhaul nearly all of the league after that start is pretty impressive, we were 10-12 points behind some of them at one point or another.

We can be proud of our team and especially the brand of football that we've played.

I don't think Spurs will be involved in the title race next season. City are only 5 points behind them despite having a really shit season. With the money + Guardiola coming I think they will push on quite a lot. Expect them to battle it out for 4th with Liverpool. My prediction would be

City/United/Chelsea
Arsenal
Spurs/Liverpool

Edit - I forgot about Chelsea! Conte seems to be a really good manager and Chelsea have a great squad, no europe to deal with and I think they will be spending a large amount of money. It's really hard to predict next season

I think City are probably a shoe-in for next year, I'd fancy Spurs & Liverpool to take the next 2 places and then Chelsea and Utd to fight it out for 4th/5th.

Arsenal with Wenger staying are going to be in trouble.

I like spurs and wanted them to do it, but fair play, Leicester have risen to every challenge thrown at them and Tottenham haven't been able to do the same. In terms of next season Tottenham will be the most settled of the teams with any realistic chance I would imagine, they don't need to many transfers in or out while Us, Liverpool, Chelsea and city do, Arsenal also do but we all know nothing will happen there. They might have a chance it depends on transfers and how quickly other teams can gel, if for instance city have horrific initial fixtures while pep is still bedding in they could struggle.

If we get Mourinho I'd fancy us to finish 3rd at least.

Enjoy our trip to FC Nakislatz-Bongonovia while you play Real Madrid.

EDIT: Bollocks, I f*cked that right up...

You wrote Chelsea off completely? If anything, Spur would find it hard to compete with the forever top 4 Arsenal; while Citeh, Liverpool and Chelsea may improve vastly. As United fan I am not here to bigging up my club. Just saying a management change can change the club fortune greatly. So the competition is stiff.

Edit note: missing "not" in my sentence that make it the exact opposite of what I meant to say.
