Europa League 2015/2016

Can we please calm down with these doom and gloom posts. fecking hell, people need to calm down.

They don't beat Sevilla and they've actually had a pretty shit season.

1. It's a final at a neutral venue.
2. They may be trash away from home in Liga BBVA, but they've been pretty decent in the Europa League.

A neutral venue...which means Sevilla aren't at home...

I wouldn't call them decent either.

Away from home in the EL:

Lost 1-0 to Molde
Drew 0-0 with Basel
Late winner vs Bilbao
Late Penalty for a draw vs Donetsk

Awful away record. Absolutely no reason to think they can beat Liverpool other than pure hope (which I'm clinging on to).

Both Dortmund and Villarreal bottled it at Anfield. Against Sevilla it will be in a neutral stadium so that should help Sevilla.

Villareal in Liverpool tonight!

I wonder what Klopp's 'process' is? Does it take three years? Do you need to have low expectations?

Fair fecks to Liverpool

If they end up winning They will have gone through some good teams....and Utd

There's a very good chance these will be playing CL next year and we won't. Cheers Louis you Cloggy pigeon bastard.

Come the feck on Sevilla.

At Dortmund new players always needed a year to get going. And the players of Dortmund had problems when they left.

Apparently, you also need better quality players, its never anything to do with the manager.

Yeah, I forgot that. LVG is right to complain. What with Liverpool having Bale and Neymar instead of Milner and Llanana...

...oh wait.

Watched the Sevilla-Shakhtar game, good decision that turned out to be....sombreros on for the Final now...andale Sevilla

They've won it two times in a row and are a very good "cup" side under Emery. Their place in the Spanish Cup final proves it, but it's true they lack the consistency to finish higher up the table in Liga BBVA.

As for their away record - I'd still call it decent as they've mostly gotten the required results away from home.

first reaction is its good to see some actual brave attacking football for a change, then realise the circumstances

Fair enough. Although I was talking about his celebrations, they seem to wind people up.

Think about it, what an end to the season this would be for them. If you can't end as champions of the league, it's all about getting CL. Finishing 3rd or 8th, who cares. they have earned their ticket to the top tier competition, we go to iceland.

How did Seville play? Was it fairly one sided?
Yes, pretty much, 2 shots on target from Donetsk ( I think), they were like City at Madrid, very timid, no ambition, but to be honest, neither team looked that good. Gameiro is a handful up front though

In what way is thinking Sevilla, who have proven themselves as an excellent cup side and are going for their 5th Europa League in 11 years, will win just out of "pure hope"?

It's a 50/50 call in the final. Sevilla will be confident.

They will want the CL just as much. So that they can fail in it, drop to the EL, win it to get into the CL. It just goes on and on.

Sure Sevilla haven't won away from home all season but here's an even more shocking stat. Gameiro has scored 27 goals this season, 24 of them were at home.

If Liverpool win it does it still cancel out the fourth Champions League spot like previously?

For Klopp to get us to two finals in his first season as manager is fantastic. If he improves our league form next season who knows what a team he builds is capable of. So happy :)

They beat Man Utd, Dortmund and Villarreal in their road to the final. Credit where it's due.

Klopp :D

Bet you're all hating this.
Nah obviously I don't want Liverpool to win and qualify for the CL, but in the end it's still the Europa League.
City winning the CL would have been much worse.

It's the Europa League ffs. To get there you have to be fecking SHITE like us this season. I'd rather they win this Shite than "The mersey feck me I'm a muppet" trophy. They can celebrate all they want it's a fecking SHITE tournament and should be put to bed. Who wants to be 17th?
