Robin Van Persie could have been killed today...
I'm sorry that your football club seems to trigger you.
So, let me guess, people are blaming LVG & Woodward for this somehow?
That's exactly how I'm viewing it. Mistakes were made, and fortunately it led to a situation where no one was harmed physically and like you say provided genuine practice.Personally think a lot of positives can be taken from today.
The stewards and police had a genuine practice in how to deal with this type of situation, and I'd say they handled it very well.

I'm not sure what that means, I'm really out of touch these days. All the embarrassment of the day has clouded my judgement.
Apology accepted.
Good post. Absolutely nailed it.
We'd best be sure someone picks that up or we'll have a murder investigation on our hands with OT as the crime scene. He's right though, somebody's head has to roll.

A training device left behind by our official Fake Bomb Partner...

Don't go giving the club any ideas. Next thing we know we will hire an external company to stage a mock ISIS-style beheading on one of the concourses and on the first match of next season somebody will open a cupboard and a fake head will roll out onto the pitch.

So that's half the money we saved on not sacking LvG in earlier up the spout.
I'm fecking livid about this whole scenario.
It's 2016 - terrorism is real - how can Old Trafford spend multiple days with a (potentially) explosive, unknown, device in one of its bathrooms? The idea that people are let into the venue without a full sweep is scary enough. The idea that events can be carried out midweek without security checks is insane.
Earlier today I was praising the team that evacuated the stadium and the forces that worked to ensure the safety of all the individuals who attended the game today (including friends and family of mine). Now I am left red faced.
Are there people who think this is a minor event?
I will emphasize my reaction. TOTAL shambles on and off the pitch.
Well, he hasn't. What happened today has nothing to do with what happens on the pitch.
It's as if some people would be slightly more accepting of such a situation if we were sitting top of the league. It takes a special brand of imbecility to draw comparison between the two.

He's definitely staying now. The bastard.
No it doesn't.
The external company should have insurance. They screwed up in a big way, they should count in & out those things. They should be aware of the risks of leaving a bomb in a public place. That would be where some embarrassment comes into play, if we sue a local business out of existence because of a mistake like this it would be tremendously poor form, I understand the magnitude of their error as I am sure the company do but to put some people on the dole queue as a result ? Nah, not for me.
The best way to bury these embarrassing headlines is to sack LVG. Frame him as the fake bomb planter.
