Sky Sources : Blind and Mata set to leave this summer.

Very surprised about Blind. Can give very good cover in three different positions, but SSN has been a bit crap for a long, long time.

Unless Blind is unhappy with being a squad player then I can't see any reason why we'd get rid of him. Can provide good cover at CB, CDM/CM and LB.

Getting rid of Blind would be a really bad move, but he certainly doesn't look like a Mourinho player to me, tall, fast, strong, athletic etc, Blind is... none of those things.

Personally though, I hope he sells Mata... again.

Good. Hopefully we can fetch around £30m for the pair.

I call B.S.

Blind was one of our best players last season in a position that he did not favour in the PL.

He's been a leader for the team and has displayed grit in the PL. He could easily play in midfield and defence. Mourinho likes versatility and he's not about dump a very good player just because he's not physically intimidating or quick as lightning.

Andy Burton has no line of contact into Old Trafford at all. He's best ignored. The only things he knows is that Mourinho previously sold Mata and that Blind is small.

Blind being let go is an easy story.

"Van Gaal loyalist - small in stature = definitely, 100% going to get sold."

Blind can be more than useful as a squad player, and Mou is having much bigger problems in the squad than Mata. I hope both of them stay. Although, it seems more of guesswork as Blind is/was a LVG loyalist and Mata was sold earlier by him.

Mata I'm not particularly bothered about, but Blind should not be sold.

I hope we don't sell blind. Very useful player to have around.

I can see him selling Mata though, especially if we're buying forward players and Rooney will be playing in midfield.

I remember when the same kind of rumours popped up about Mata and Luiz at Chelsea.

No one believed them then, but both were gone within months.

The rumours didn't come from a source-less clown like Andy Burton, to be fair.

If and when guys that actually have contact with the club start to say the same thing then we should take more notice.

If Blind goes, and we keep the likes of Jones, Fellaini, Lingard and Valencia.....then I'll be genuinely disappointed in Mourinho. Unless Daley has asked to go because his surrogate father is gone

I wouldn't want to sell either of them, but wouldn't be shocked if they both did leave.

Can definitely see both leaving.

We have to support Mourinho's plan for the team. Bit of a shame with Blind, but he probably isn't the Mourinho type of player.

God! Blind is so overrated on here.

I like Blind because he's intelligent with the ball and has looks that make Derik Zoolander envious. Real shame. But perhaps this is what we need because we've looked really shaky at the back despite us having the best defensive record last term. Jose obviously has a set requirement for his centre backs.

I have really come to respect what Blind does on a football pitch, really disciplined and clever footballer, not the most technically gifted but every pass and move he does make sense. Proper player. However, I just can't see where he fits in, even as a squad player. Mourinho will, for better or worse, prefer Carrick, Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger for the DM position and he may even bring in someone new. Blind is not a Mourinho-type CB. Maybe keep him for the LB cover, but why would you do that, from Mourinho's perspective, when you can give CBJ or TFM a run in the cups in that position.

First step in the right direction from Mourinho. I like him a little bit better if this happens.

I understand why Mata was binned originally. Mourinho preferred Oscar at #10. Mata still got some games, but not many, he was Oscar's stand-in. Unless Mourinho is certain of an incoming target for the #10 position, then Mata should stay. At Chelsea, he played someone he preferred over him. Here, we don't really have anyone who can play ahead of him.

Mata is a decent player, even if he's not a "Mourinho player" as keeps being repeated. He's still among the least of our problems right now. Another centre back, central midfield (possibly two) and a RW should be prioritised.

It's annoying if Blind was only here because of LvG. He's a valuable asset. Can play a number of positions well and rarely get's injured. Pretty much what Phil Jones should be, but he has knees made of porridge.

Hardly surprising re Mata but I'd keep Blind. He can slot into numerous positions and we're hardly packed to the rafters with defenders.

Similar to the Mata/Luiz rumours when Mourinho returned to Chewsea, no? Of course it could all be nonsense but we know he doesn't like Mata and I don't think Blind is his ideal CB, or midfielder, given he isn't exactly the quickest or strongest player.

Reading that article they are really only guessing... in Mata's case based on the fact José sold him to us, in Blind's case 'cause he's small and Mou fancies big units at centre-back. Sounds like a load of crap, at least in regards to Blind's potential departure. Surely José will love his versatility?

We dont know his sources.

And with things like this, one media house runs with this, then another..just like that.

It was similar last season with the stories of Carrick and Rooney visiting Van Gaal for those face to face talks. That was largely rubbished on here too. That was until Van Gaal himself confirmed it.

Im not saying this story is true. But the media arent always wrong . For example, it was clear that Mourinho had made the decision to sell Mata even before his Chelsea return. Mourinho isnt one to shy away from getting rid if he feels the need.

Very surprised about Blind. Can give very good cover in three different positions, but SSN has been a bit crap for a long, long time.

Blind is the odd one out. Mourinho won't use him at center back, he's not good enough for midfield, CBJ will cover for Shaw at Leftback. Blind is surplus.

This is the same sky sources who said we'd be signing Ilkay Gundogan and a deal would be completed in two days...

Well sky, it's been a long two days

Why's it a surprise he's letting blind go? We have CBJ as cover for Shaw, Blind was never going to get games at CB Under Mourinho and we are supposed to add to our existing CM options. Where is Blind required?
