Sky Sources : Blind and Mata set to leave this summer.

Yeah I get that but I don't understand how Blind fits that description
Read the quotes after he got sacked? It was far too much to say publicly. This is the stuff you can say to him personally, but publicly its just career suicide because it sends a wrong message to the next manager

Blind is too good to be a squad player at United. He can be a squad player everywhere, even at Barca and Madrid. I guess he wouldn't be content to sit on the bench even for the best teams, so he will probably sign for a lesser club where he can start regularly.

Sky haven't shown to be credible at all in recent years. I think it's utter guesswork.

They do seem to be covering their backs in the article. Simply quoting Blind's words that he was keen to work with LVG and that Mourinho prefers physical defenders... adding the two up and saying "set for exit".

Its like they forgot Blind can operate in two other positions, one of which is actually his best role (midfield).

Similar to the Mata/Luiz rumours when Mourinho returned to Chewsea, no? Of course it could all be nonsense but we know he doesn't like Mata and I don't think Blind is his ideal CB, or midfielder, given he isn't exactly the quickest or strongest player.
Although I think one of Fellani or Mata will be sold, I doubt Mata's case would be because Mourinho doesn't like him. There was an interview after Mata's transfer where Mourinho said he regreted not handling Mata better and that he should have tried to find a way to help Mata play in the team. I think the transfer happened because the offer from us was too good to turn down before he could work it out with Mata.

Think mata should be our number 10. Blind is good cover. Can see reasons for both going though. Blind being an lvg man. Didn't fancy mata before, despite being incredible at chelsea.

I like how everyone here become an expert on how jose likes to play etc.

I would laugh if he uses elbow man, blind, mata, rooney, valencia etc as the previous managers did...

2nd highest goal scorer at the club since he arrived.

I really don't get this idea that he is an inferior player.

This. He's had to play under David Moyes and LVG. I was craving to see what he's like under a manager that actually provides creative freedom for his attackers. Looks like it won't happen, though.

Sky haven't been reliable for years but we've got a whole new managerial team in charge. Who knows which journalists they're closer to.

Not surprised if either of them leave. Both could be useful but he doesn't like Mata and Blind won't last 5 minutes if he does his usual trick of running into the middle of nowhere during the game. Jose would have a heart attack seeing that. People on the cafe seem to love it though.

I would hate to see Mata leave. Blind is fine with me, don't see a role for him anymore.

Hopefully we get rid of Fellaini, maybe the Euros will add a little to his price tag too. Sadly, I think Mourinho might like Fellaini and will probably keep him.

It is funny alot of people here seem to hate Fellaini for some reason and think it is only because of Moyes that he is playing here. But LVG rated him and used him, Mourinho will likley do the same.

He isn't a top player but he does provide certain skills that can be usefull especially in the PL on top of that Fellaini always seems to give himself 100% when on the pitch even in the difficult times something that can't be said about alot of other united players. He has a good attitude, he is very strong and not half as bad as many people on here seem to think he is.

I'am not the biggest fan and won't be fussed if he moves on but still surprised so many here seem to think he is our worst player whilst that just isn't the case.

Like I said before, saying Mata does not suit here is fine. Saying he is not good enough is funny.

Pace and power you know? If you have it, you can be called the best here.

Unless if your name is Valencia...:P

So the Jose backlash has started already?

Haha tongue in cheek. The greater plan prevails but the pain of losing Daley is real.

JusticeForBlind has a better ring to it, FC?

But then we're opening up to a confusion with a whole other cause. Both worthy of course. I'll set @SteveJ up to make a gag about Blind leading the blind here...

I love Mata shame to hear about this. Surprised to see Blind on the outs, solid player who can cover multiple positions

Very few players should go imo. Rojo, Fellaini and Romero and maybe one cm. Not more. Seiling Darmian and Depay after one season is just stupid. Selling Blind and Valencia is insane

Not a fan of Blind. Mata either has to be a #10 or not play in my opinion. And Jose Mourinho doesn't seem to see him as a #10

No I didn't read them. Can you link me please?

Fair to say the argument to sell Blind from any manager should be questioned.

Why he is a very average player ?

He isn't up to standard in midfield, he isn't up to standard at CB and we don't need him on LB

You can keep him as a reserve player but since LVG played him all the time this season he probably has bigger expectations, he won't be the starter CB for Mourinho, only LVG sees a good CB in Blind.

Would be a great time to shift Blind. Hopefully some idiots genuinely think he's good a CB and will spunk a lot of money on him on the back of this season. It's how Chelsea managed to get good money for their crap.

This is just like the Rooney to leave after LvG comes because he was Dutch and RvP was Dutch so put 2+2 together story. And we know how that turned out

It's worth pointing out that this story could actually transpire in real life. It makes sense, after all. Just in this case, I doubt the veracity of the particular journo.

I would accept Mata leaving as long as the attack was reinforced with the appropriate players we need.

Selling Blind would piss me off. I think he's a great player. Cheap, professional, versatile and consistent. More importantly, he knows how to stay fit, unlike countless others in the squad.

Upto standard in comparison to whom? Xavi? He is just as good as Carrick when Carrick first came to United.

No big deal if true.

He's not average. He was one of the best CBs in the league last year. He has barely played in midfield for us, and I'd struggle to think of many players that would provide the versatility and composure he would.

He's really not though.

Carrick wasn't considered as a big deal even at Spurs who always thought huddlestone was better than him. When he came he was similar to blind. Not particularly fast, not very athletic but very good passer and good at plugging gaps attacking and defensive wise

You're massively underselling young Carrick, friend.

"any United transfer stories for today?"
"nope"
"can we come up with any? Departures maybe?"
"well Mourinho sold Mata once already, and Blind was a LVG player, so..... "
"meh, that'll do, just slap 'Sky Sources' on it"

He was not.

When we signed carrick, people were not happy and didn't think he was united standard. Hence, almost everyone put us at 5th on league position due to 'not good enough signings".

I am not saying Blind right now is same quality as Carrick back then. I am saying Carrick was seen as meh signing by almost everyone.

I'd like to keep them both as I think they'd add depth to the squad, but if it means improving I'm all for it.

Again, many people here are glad we are selling our good players without even finding them replacement first. This place.

I hope it's not true, both are very good and valuable players. I would sell only if we get big fee for Mata.
