Gentleman Jim
It's absolutely amazing! Perfect even.
Getting a number of overseas and domestic plastics is an inevitability when you become serial winners in a top league. We'll also get some great new fans too. What I find so funny is that most of the Blues that give me shit do so since I am not born in Manchester, and therefore can't be a "true" fan. But what you are aspiring to be, a global "massive" club, will achieve just the same, a lot of fans from a lot of different countries. Not necessarily just Jim from the pub around the corner.
You're confusing what the owners want for the club with what most of the fans want. For their investment the club do want to raise the global profile, gaining a worldwide fan base enabling them to do deals with media and commercial entities that will assist the owner recoup his outlay which is the ultimate intention.
Most Blues just want to watch good football from our team and to pick up a few trophies along the way.
NB Do you accept that you were rather hasty in your remark about great taste from the bitters?
