Really. Explain how you have come to that conclusion
Because immigration is the biggest stated concern when polled
Really. Explain how you have come to that conclusion
You do know we have a Monarch and a House of Lords. What's democratic about those?
You clearly don't understand what I'm saying. Can you think of many places of work which don't require critical reasoning? I mean come on if there is a job so easy that it doesn't require you to have common sense sign me up.
The fact that that's what you got from what I said does represent your lack of intelligence. The point I was trying to make is that not everyone who is voting league is uneducated. Not that being uneducated neccesarily makes you less intelligent in Politics anyway.![]()
this is one of the funniest things I've read in a long time. To even think that this level of qualifications and experience (primarily the latter) means you are in any way an informed voter is laughable.
I think you are giving them too much credit.I cannot believe my country is full of moronic half wits. Sorry but it's really hard to stay calm and politically correct when we now know that more than half the country evaluated the evidence and fecked us up long and short term anyway.
Heard head of Morgan Stanley talking about the possible need to move headquarters to Dublin or Frankfurt as a result of this. Despite the problems this presents for Ireland, it also presents quite a few opportunities.
I have GCSE's, A Levels and I'm starting studying a degree come September. Many people in my area are the same, saying that everyone who has voted out don't have the same levels of intelligence as people voting in is hilarious. Plus let's say for example someone has a degree in something like English Literature, does that mean they know more about politics than someone else? I highly doubt that.
Erm hugely misguided. Look at the bigger picture ffs.Britain leaving the EU might actually be good. Decreasing foreign investments may mean things like housing will actually be affordable to the average citizen. Y'all agree? Or am I just misguided...
Sad day for Britain and Europe, very sad day for the younger generations of Britain. I wonder what the people of the U.K. will be thinking in 10-15 years time?
They still (and should) have a right to vote though. As annoying as it is.
As if to underline the point I made earlier...
The old have fecked the young...
I don't know how many people you know with degrees, but let's just say you don't have to be a genius to get one by any means. You clearly don't understand what I'm saying.
You asked if a person with an English degree would have a good understanding of this political topic. I'm saying that the average person with a college degree will have better critical reasoning skills than you do... So in short, yes, they'd know better than you.

Bold words by someone who has yet to go through college.I don't know how many people you know with degrees, but let's just say you don't have to be a genius to get one by any means.

British people worked abroad before 1974 and I'm sure they will do after the result tonight.Mental. Even just the opportunity to study abroad, work abroad and work together with other cultures should surely resonate more with you. It's shut the UK off and they've ran away from any sort of co-operation. Ridiculous really.
Throw away 40 years of collective knowledge and replace it with Rule Brittainia principles from the 1800s...Don't forget a need to rewrite our legal system.
Fortune favours the bold.Bold words by someone who has yet to go through college.
As I said earlier - The baby boomer generation had it handed to them on a plate by their parents who sacrificed every thing for them. They lived on credit, buying houses and holiday homes and making it incredibly difficult for the following generations to have even a modest first home. Their parting gift to those following generations? fecking up the economy further and bringing back the values their preceding generation died fighting against.
The Boomer generation, who've shaped the late 20th and early 21st centuries with the their post-war progressive counter culture, have left a terrible legacy of debt and inequality in their wake, by becoming the very anarchic obstacles they strove against, refusing to relinquish or compromise their power for the betterment of the next generation.
The fact the young no longer have agency over their own future is a big, big problem.
And pride cometh before the fall.Fortune favours the bold.
I said it too....
But with all said and done, what are we going to do about it?
I can see more riots down the line...
Showing your age now. That's a sweeping statement without any fecking context.I don't know how many people you know with degrees, but let's just say you don't have to be a genius to get one by any means.
and what exactly do you know about how easy it was to do so?British people worked abroad before 1974 and I'm sure they will do after the result tonight.

Smart.
So everyone concerned about immigration is racist? I'm not following

Does this mean Boris Johnson will become the PM?
And there are people with these things who voted out!Go find someone with a 1st class honours in Maths, Engineering or Computer Science and tell me they're stupid.
Yep. As a young person I feel utterly alienated in my own country and relentlessly attacked by older voters.
It wasn't long ago you were telling me all working class people were thick and elderly were racist. Is there an age requirement for sweeping statements that I'm unaware of?Showing your age now. That's a sweeping statement without any fecking context.

So, this has actually happened. I don´t really have words for that.
I have no idea how big the effects of the Brexit will be.
Some things I´m pretty certain of, though:
- The rift between Scotland and the rest of the UK is now immense and I don´t see them staying much longer.
- The UK is now the country to look at for countries thinking about having a similar vote, meaining that depending on how the UK fares now has the potential to become a threat to the Union itself.
- The UK is also now the poster child for every EU sceptic party in Europe, including the French nationalists and the German "AfD". They will celebrate every success the UK will have now and push further against the established parties. This makes the UK now a direct political threat to the current German and French governments. They will try everything to sell the coming negotiations of the trade deal between the UK and the EU as success.
- All economies in the EU will take a blow, the UK by far the hardest.
This will be some fun negotiations. The EU led by Germany and France won´t give the UK an inch in these talks. From where I stand the UK will be lucky to have the same deal Norway has, which includes free movement and single market, so the vast majority of the rules of the EU. UK will follow the same rules they do right now without any influence to make and change them. Well done UK, well done. History being made indeed.
