Why can't Carrick or Schneiderlin be partner with Pogba? We had Carrick - Schools partnership and it worked brilliant. Kroos - Schweinsteiger against Italy worked fine. Pogba is also considered to be a player with a good work rate and willing to do defensive contribution.

Well, you have to make quality posts to earn some likes from the Mods/Scouts & that would increase you posting power in the mains. You can earn likes in the Newbie forum too, so if you run out of posts in mains, keep trying in the Newbie section and write some informational posts & you would earn the likes in no time.
Di Marzio is fairly reliable as compared to other journalists. However these things happen very fast and are unpredictable. I still remember SAF telling us fans in my local supporters club that Gazza was basically a done deal and he would sign him up once he returns to Manchester. If Pogba wants to leave in 3 years time like you are assuming, would we not get at least half the price back? and if we do, isn't that the same as buying a midfielder in his late 20's who would have little resell value? Not to mention, there is literally no-one like Pogba around.
Pogba's price valuation is probably made up of the following factors;
- How much is he worth as a player with his current abilities?
- How much is he worth as a player when fully developed?
- How marketable is he?
- How important is he to Juves team?
- How important is he to Jose's plans, is there an alternative with similar skill set?
Of course they don't want to sell. Doesn't mean that they won't sell though does it?
If we have reached an agreement with Pogba & his agent they can demand he be sold.

I think Schneiderlin can be that man. While Pogba is more of an "attacking" 8, and Schneiderlin is more of a "defensive" 8, I think that pair could be good for us.

The money doesn't bother me in the slightest. It's not my money and its all relative in football. 30 million, 50 million, 80 million is all a hell of a lot of money. The cost / benefit analysis of signing Pogba given he reaches his expectations, and even including his wages, is going to make it worthy.
My problem is the principle of the whole matter. TBH I thought more people be it United or ABU fans would be talking about how ridiculous it would be to release a player only to resign them a few years after for a world record fee. It truly does make us look silly as an institution.
Having said that, I will not be complaining if we do sign him. If he does produce the form he is capable of I honestly believe he can elevate us to one of the best teams in Europe.

I know signing Pogba would be drool worthy and all... But how do "statements of intent" actually help us? Are they really what might turn other targets' heads toward Utd, or something that would get us another noodle sponsor?

Annoyingly, you now have to be a licenced lawyer to be able to be a football agent. Quite a bit of effort.
It's easier to keep your best players if you bring in top players who can help you be successful. There is no given, but you stand a better chance of success with better players. It's that simple.
