Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

THIS !!!

When I saw that post I couldn't even muster enough strength and will to reply to the guy. On what stratosphere is Kane better than Ibra? I mean seriously? I swear some people think that football is in England or something.

Putting Kane and Ibra in the same sentence should be a punishable offense, even the age excuse about Ibra shouldn't spare anyone from life sentence in prison from uttering such statement

Great job, jack-ass. You've blown your cover as an ISIS agent! I'm onto you!

Thought he had a decent tournament, especially considering his age. Also liked his passing tonight.

Most sensible post on this page. The Caf is full of morons for the most part that should be still in the newbs.

No, I'm saying that spending £150m+ on Pogba alone (fee + wages) would be well over one third of your total income in your last published annual accounts.
I understand. But you realise that doesn't actually count for much as you need to divide that figure by 5 and then look at annual income, assuming we sign him and he gets a 5 year contract? That annual income is meant to hit 500m the next year.

I believe we can comfortably spend 100-150m net per season on transfer fees for a few years going forward. If we sign Pogba, we'd have spent 160m without any sales yet. I think we'll be fine.

Again, I'll ask you to provide some better evidence that a 100m spend on one player would hit us hard going forward. Of course it's an insane fee but our income is even more insane.

Just admit you got caught into the British media hype and genuinely thought(or still think) that Kane is actually better than Ibra. I mean did you think through before typing that mate?

How much did you shit yourself when your club shelled out well in excess of your annual income on 7 players (+ wages) back in 2013, if you're this worried about United spending a third* of their income?

*will be considerably less than that

Oh ffs, I am out of here. Pogba will be just fine. Also, its done, so support the lad :)
I am out too, until he signs (hopefully).

Tired of seeing people who don't understand football (Mourinho's tactical need of someone like Pogba)

How would you describe it after he just scored like 50 in Spain?
Ronaldo scored 31 league goals in the 2007/2008 season. He'd be scoring over 60 goals now (or a few years back when he was arguably more at his peak) in the PL. Especially considering how much stronger English football was back then, with both champions league finalist that season coming from England.

And there we learned that you just dont know business at all.

I know that lots of commitments to large future fee-instalment and wages payments all add up. I know that signing lots of players on big wages, makes it very, very difficult to sell those players afterwards before their contract ends ... unless you sell for a big loss or subsidise their wages at another club.

And I know that lots of United fans, without examining the facts, have swallowed the myth that United are so loaded that it doesn't matter what you spend. But they will care when reality dawns.

I really don't see it. He flits in and out of games, does some flashy things, but disappears when it's put up to him. Sure I'd like us to sign him as he's better than what we have, but he is completely overrated in my honest opinion. And I think the fee does matter. It's not my money, but if spending an extraordinate amount of money on a player if it means not signing others or selling good players, then I think it's madness.

José could mould him into a super player but in his current state, he isn't really that good. Sissoko looked better and not for the first time.

Hal Robson Kanu looked much much better than Harry Kane, would I want him over Harry Kane. No.

Sissoko had the best game I have ever seen him have tonight including league games but he was the one with the license to bomb forward and not worry about defensive duties. Pogba who was pretty anonymous was obviously told to sit and play very much the way Deschamps did for France in the 90's. So yeah he looked pretty much like Schneiderlin did all last season for us...invisible. However play Pogba how he is played at Juve and you get goals, assist and dynamic play which are backed up by stats and not some well edited 10 minute YouTube clip.

Paul Pogba is not worth £100 million for the player he is right now. Undoubtedly IMO he has potential to be the best midfielder in the world or certainly in the top 3, which therefore makes United pursuing it understandable. However the argument is if you pay £100 million pounds for a player and whatever way you look at it is a hell of a lot of money for a midfielder, then you expect the finished article. Pogba isn't and for me he still needs a lot of coaching to reach that level. It's fine paying large amounts on players based on what their potential could be, but this isn't a large amount, it's a world record fee for a player that previously left the club for £0 despite coming through the academy . I get why some people would be against this, it's a very tough call.

It's very touching that people supporting other clubs are so worried about United's finances, but I think the money men and women at the club know whether a deal will be financially sustainable or not. And I really have no doubt that the club can afford this.

what? The top teams may have become weaker, but the lower ranked teams have gotten much, much stronger. Payet at West Ham? Shakiri at Stoke? Kante and Mahrez at Leiscter?

No, the EPL is not weaker. It's overall much, much stronger. The top teams have just fallen behind the Barca, Madrid, and Bayern.

You're being ridiculous. Of course they wanted him. They either couldn't afford Juve's price or didn't think he was worth the money.

Precisely so. So they've had some fun massively bumping up the price for United, since that costs them nothing.

23? normal enough age

Don't think there are many players with as many earned expectations on them at that age. Neymar, Messi, Ronaldo and Rooney come to mind.

Edit: That his performances are questioned speaks IMO volumes about his level and consistency at Juventus. I don't think he has been playing badly or was average, simply he wasn't at his best.

Pogba is a great attacking midfielder, superb one touch passing. Deschamps completely wasted Pogba playing him so deep. if you watch the semi final, again playing deep, the only real time Pogba had chance to get forward he created the chance for Griezmann. This is what he does, he creates openings with off the cuff moves and can keep play moving up front and keep the pressure on.

I trust Mourinho will be buying him as creative attacking force and will give him support behind. He's certainly still raw though but huge potential.

Doesn't bother me that he didn't perform up to expectation, still hope United get him. Lots of great players can have bad international tournaments, and vice versa.

I think you're confusing United with your micky mouse club. Best season in how long? and you still finish below Arsenal. Both of you will be out of the top four next season the way things are going and nobody will give a shite. Spurs are a drop in the water. I repeat, a nothing club.

Wish glaston would stop trying to put a downer on things, hey were signing Pogba over here and over the moon about it. Its exciting times, it might turn out to be one of the best transfer windows ever. Glaston the anti muppet.

That should pretty much confirm to people that Pogba won't be playing a deep role next to Schnweiderlin, ergo even if we sign him we still need a playmaker.

Pogba will be a huge success at United end of story. The debates about him having a poor tournament are obviously from people that haven't watched him before and don't know what his game is all about. Think of how many attacking box to box midst you can count. Now answer me how many would be able to fill in the deep lying playmaker role of a team that's just got to the final of a European championship. He's a special player with everything in his locker and he is looking like signing for the club most of us love. Everyone that supports United should be ecstatic that we're possibly adding him to our ranks!

if he's not the deep role, then isn't he the playmaker?

How do you know the price quoted is not the price they have always quoted for Pogba from the beginning? Have not read one thing about a bidding war basically because neither club has actually made an offer.

I don't know. Maybe it has something to do with him playing in a front tree consisting of himself, Neymar and Messi with a midfield composed of the likes of Iniesta and Busquet. Should we just ignore all that?

Put that Barca team in the PL and they'll rain goals left and right, Suarez will likely still have tons more goals than the 31 he managed at Liverpool. You're asking questions with some quite obvious answers.

how do you wage a bidding war if you bow out before a single bid?

36 ignored messages and lots of talk about United's finances. Don't even need to ask who's at the centre of all this.

that Liverpool team he played on was a great counter attacking team that scored over a 100 goals.

I believe Deschamps was wrong to play him just in front of the defenders. Ridiculous stuff.
He was wrong for sure, but i suppose you could look at it that he had the belief in Pogba to be able to play that role (which he did very well to be fair).

Exactly. United have obviously informed the agent what they are wiling to pay. Real are unwilling to go that high. Which is completely different to bumping up the price as Glaston states.
