Really? 3rd behind those two?! Honestly I'm shocked. Of course I don't understand about branding/marketing etc, and so would have no idea what target audience Pogba appeals to. For me, there's no charisma or such, but I suppose they wouldn't be targeting my age group:lol:
Now we're all afraid to ask your age group

I think he is overated tbh. Hes a good player. He is 23 now i dont know how much more he can improve. I guess thats my biggest problem. I dont think hes that good a player, im sure im in the minority
Wow! He turned 23 THREE months ago. He made the FIFA best XI this past season. Just think of Payet as an example. Six years ago he was a no one. He is 29 now and look at him. The whole world probably knows about him with his free kicks and his performances in the Euros.

Thats crazy. Do you think thats down to euro 16 and him being the face? He just does not strike me as that marketable.
Apparently it's the fact that he's likable, extrovert and not too bad in term of football skills. His complex background and his fashion too. Think Beckam. Yes he had a good free kick and crossing, but his real skill was his fashion.

Oh please don't! Whenever birthday's come around now I tell everyone I'm 25 - every single year. I get selective amnesia as the years go by.....:D

Tbh I've seen his 'fashion' - it's absolutely horrendous!

Payet is a special case thats hardly the norm. I hear a lot about his potential but i havent seen him dominate opposition consistently at all. And 23 is not a youngster. Almost all wc players today did special things at that age. I havent seen consistency or big game perfomances from him (cl final last year, cl this year , euros).

For that fee i want someone more proven. If not this year then next year

Dont be such a girl my man!
Show off that silver hair with pride!

You are hard man to satisfy or you just have something against Pogba.

In that case, my apologies!!! Carry on :good
No worries.

About Pogba and the marketing stuff - I usually think people like Tiger Woods, Federer, Bolt, Ronaldo, Messi - they are/were great at what they do - but also have this presence/charisma - and you can see why they're appealing. But with Pogba, I just don't get it - hence why I think it must be because I'm a little older (hence the age reference):)

I think he is a top player, but? does he want to come here? I don't think he does, would not say fergie was totally to blame for Pogba leaving, but he did not exactly strike me has someone who had plans to stay here either even though he was upset with Fergie, its like another mikel only he actually put on the shirt and played for us. He clearly has spain in mind and I see him staying put, play at the highest level at Juve, and move onto madrid either next year or year after. You just get the vibe has not got the enthusiasm to come here, and that is not a type of money the club should throw at, when his heart is not exactly in it from the Vibes from the Pogba camp. He knows if he goes, he may play his best football at united when he has other plans in mind. Madrid could be 4th or even 7th being mediocre, and united could be top has a dominating monster, and still players some how want to go to Madrid, they could do no wrong

I think pogba is a good midfielder. But i dont think he would dominate the premier league much less the champions league. For that price i want a world beater

The agent nor the player has said anything so far regarding their preference for Spain. I dont know where you get this inclination from.

Yes ideally but the problem is there are none we can get. So we get the best midfielder we can get which is probably Pogba who lets not forget has enormous potential.

Kroos and Veratti are arguably better but i can't see either of their clubs wanting to sell or the players themselves wanting to join United now or in the future.

So what will Pogba say? Juventus fans are convinced all of this is just to get a new contract at Juventus :). I believe we have our concrete reasons to think this deal is going through as well. What a drama! What will happen? "Should he stay? Or should he go? Should he come back, another day?".

Just checked the Juventuz forum and my comment about the made up newspaper was on there. Guess they didn't get the hint of sarcasm :p

I am relatively calm on this happening. He's definetly our 4th target and its a matter of when not if like Mourinho said at the press conference. Balague and Keys have confirmed he's coming and although you couldn't trust them like most reputable sources atleast both are saying the same thing and not one. Also many people from our club seem a bit more convinced that he's coming which you can see on MUTV. Yes, there's a possibility he might not come but I firmily believe he has a higher chance of coming than staying.

Raiola's comments look worrying at first. But as you look deeper you realise that Real Madrid are out of the race so there needs to be a new competitor, what better way to bring in a new competitior than the club wanting to keep Pogba himself? It reeks of typical Raiola. And although a similar thing happened with the Ramos saga, which ended up badly, this one may be different due to the introduction of Mourinho and the record breaking fee involved. It will be very difficult for Juve to reject. I think we have been playing along with Raiola's players to lead us to this moment. The man gets 25m, and you think he will let that slip? No chance. The image of this saga will be much clearer by the end of the week.

I shouldn't be too bothered if this doesn't happen because record breaking signings are not really my cup of tea, but as it stands, it doesn't seem like we have any other centre midfield targets. I'd have preferred it if our scouting is actually good enough to unearth a new Modric or someone like that or something but when was the last time we got someone relatively unknown who didn't actually wilt in the first team?

There's a thread about being worried about our strikers but after lackluster performances by Schweinsteiger, Schneirdelin and Herrera last year, I'm more worried about the midfield.

Hope to god Mou will not let this turn into another 'Sneijder/Benzema/Thiago/Kroos' debacle.

He has set himself an August 8th deadline to complete this or he is moving on.

Was this confirmed or are you just making assumptions? Generally curious as despite him saying he would get it done before the end of Aug I haven't seen anything suggesting the 8th.

Think there was something about Jose wanting to wrap up the '4th signing' before the community shield.

After seeing Rooney, I concluded anyone can be marketable. Maybe kids loved him because they thought he was Shrek in real life I don't know.

Pogba wont be part of the tour anyway. He wont join till we get back from Asia. So whats the use of rushing?

Uh...the fact that we may need to sign someone else instead of Pogba...and the # of available players in 3 weeks will be smaller.

Say, what if Manchester's #2 option gets grabbed by Arsenal, so Manchester has to go for the #3 option. That ISN'T what anyone would want.

I just came here for the wailing and gnashing of teeth.

He's reliable at telling people what Real Madrid want everyone to think.

Yes and thats why I think this is happening, Balague keeps slagging Pogba off, if he was staying at Juve no way ballbag would be so bitter
