I know one of ours who's 30 and still hasnt managed to.We still have one player who has lived in England for probably 10 years but don't speak English yet.

Rooney's been here 30 years and only has a basic grasp of it, and I have no clue what language Harry Kane speaks. We still have one player who has lived in England for probably 10 years but don't speak English yet.
He spent all summer trying to sign Wayne Rooney in 2013 and ended up playing with no strikers against us. Same with Stones last year. He was their big target, and was left with Cahill and Terry again. Mourinho has his targets, but its not a given he's got a plan B in his back pocket. This isn't Moyes. If Pogba isn't looking likely Jose will swiftly move on to the next target.

People in here need to distance themselves from this or set up camp and accept their in it for the long-run, as I predict this won't be concluded any time soon.
I hope you're wrong. I'm having a harder time distancing myself from this than I did when I quit smokingPeople in here need to distance themselves from this or set up camp and accept their in it for the long-run, as I predict this won't be concluded any time soon.
Whether we were interested or not, the point still remains. We haven't bought any elite, world class players for a good few years now and they always seem to end up at the other three clubs. And that is where my opinion about Pogba transfer stems from. If you think Depay helps your argument about us signing tier 'A' talent you surely haven't seen him play and to compare him with James/Kroos/Bale is utter madness. Just like Hazard is good but not Ronaldo good who is truly a global star. Pogba is the Ronaldo of midfield right now in terms of popularity and competition, and belongs to the category of select few players who are extremely sought after not the Depay category. And PSG? They aren't bigger than United, only rich. I was talking about Real/Barca/Bayern. PSG get the same second tier or rejects United do (Di Mara/Moura/Cavani). When I say second tier I do not mean not good enough, mind you. But not the best of the best. So them being in for Depay doesn't mean the same thing.
I am equally desperate for United to land Pogba and players of similar ilk/stature for a long time now. And so far I have been disappointed so excuse me of being wary of getting my hopes up at all. Let's stop trying to convince each other about this because none of us have any idea about our transfer dealings and what issues we face. All we have is our respective opinions and come the end of July, I think we will know whose opinion was better formed. I would be more than happy to be the one to be proven wrong.![]()
Pretty sure this will be concluded fairly soon, either way. As we would need a bit of time to sign an alternative player or two.
Mourinho won't let it rumble on. He is strict in his methods and needs his team to work with ASAP.
This isn't Moyes. If Pogba isn't looking likely Jose will swiftly move on to the next target.
James is criminally underrated on here! He was absolute quality for Porto, and absolute quality for Monaco (comfortably their best player). You had earlier included Thiago who was just in the Depay tier when he moved. That is, one of the most promising talents in his position. Plus James was hardly world class and it could be argued he wasn't world class consistently for Madrid too. He was a talented attacker but at his best he wasn't any more effective than mata at his best. Madrid bought him simply because he had a good WC.
The point all through was that your earlier comment that this is a nothing rumour is clearly wrong. There's a good chance this will happen.
Up until the end of July is my bet. I don't think there will be much this week or the week after. Transfers like this one ain't easy.Pretty sure this will be concluded fairly soon, either way. As we would need a bit of time to sign an alternative player or two.
Are you sure that Mourinho wanted them? As little as he used someone like Papy i'm under the impression that the board forced them on him. Didn't the media report last minute bids for Marquinhos? He didn't with Stones though. He ended up buying nobodies at the end of the window with no one else available
Yeah it seems that maybe we have agreed everything and are keeping it quiet do juventus can complete some deals without being ripped off. Hopefully it means we got pogba on the cheap.Juve have signed Benatia, Pjanic and apparently want Gabigol and Matic too. Somehow they've suddenly got a big pot of cash from somewhere![]()
Yes. It's out of love for his client that he's pricing Real out of the bidding by slapping a €25m agents' fee on top of the transfer fee. Definitely.Ed Woodwards priority is United...
Raiola's priority is his clients...
James is criminally underrated on here! He was absolute quality for Porto, and absolute quality for Monaco (comfortably their best player).
James was signed when Madrid didn't need him (Isco), so I would not put it past Madrid to sign Pogba when they also clearly do not need him. Fortunately it looks like it's either United or Juve for Pogba this season.

If i remember correctly, Mourinho stated that Costa wasn't available in his first year MK2, so he had to wait and guess what? He could convince the board and at the end of the day it was the right call, imo.
Now Jose is captain of the Manchester United ship, i suspect that he's got the power, so stop gaps like Papy won't happen, either he thinks the player is the real deal or we stay put.
I agree with people saying Jose won't want for it to drag out. But this seems to be moving very slowly - reminds me of a lot of the bumper transfer sagas this forum has suffered through.Pretty sure this will be concluded fairly soon, either way. After all even Raiola is human being and his job is to look after his clients
Raiola's number 1 priority is Raiola.
Always has been, always will be.
That is a load of bollocks btw...he gets nothing from the transfer by way of a fee, because he owns part of the players registration, so his fee comes from that...Yes.
Non so, vediamo... Per ora sono alla Juve e sono felice".
----
Juventus - Its my family. When I wear this shirt I am happy. I am playing here and I am happy. When I wear the Juventus shirt I am happy, I like playing football and I always like it since I was a kid
Real - Real are the champions of Europe. They won the CL and its a great club
Man United - It is my first family. If Mou calls what I will answer? I don't know. For now I am happy at Juve
Not only has it been covered, it's been meticulously analysed, dissected and conclusions have been drawn.I've not looked in here for a while so apologies if this has been covered but this is apparently the translation of his comments.
I know this is going very off topic but what was Madrids XI when they played James and Isco.Don't forget to add James's first season with Madrid to that list. Under Ancelotti he looked like a world beater to me, scored massive and spectacular goals! He's the perfect number 10, comes across a bit like a second striker. He enables a more vertically style of play. Attacking!
Isco is a different type of baller in my eyes: more of a playmaker and not so direct, shifts the ball out wide, so brings width to the table. I think Isco and James can accomodate each other, there was a time under Ancelotti where he fielded the both of them and the football was out of this world. Some fans are still in wonderland...
Mata isn't fit to lace James's boots, but the impression what it's like to have a number 10 in the squad is already there. Someone like Pogba (who isn't perfect for the record) would be a better fit. Pogba can actually defend, so no babysitter(s) needed and with a 4-3-3 the team is more compact.
But now that's going too far, James is an exceptional talent and one could do worse than signing him, still, bring on the Pog! There's always a benefit, learning spanish myself and it's a good practice to listen to him.![]()
Maybe he's learned from past mistakes ?He didn't with Stones though. He ended up buying nobodies at the end of the window with no one else available
This thread still hasn't reached Thiago or Vidal level of muppetry.
Chilevision, a tweet by him where he declares he loves Torino, and a thread title similar to "the writing is on the ball" is still missing.
