Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

Gotta keep in mind wages. Also who are they going to sell?
Wages are a good point but their wage structure seems to be decent because Pogba was on 4.5m Euros yearly iirc and he was their highest paid player. So I think they would be okay paying another big player.

Deal won't happen anymore, I've heard that Higuain was bought to keep Pogba happy after Tevez leaving and Morata he wasn't happy with the club.

buzzinga, I made it up to keep the muppets guessing, I want Pogba at United, please sign

Yeah that was my point. The fees are not huge enough once amortized to automatically force Juventus to look for a buyer for Pogba. Now I still believe it's a good news but more from a "announcements" standpoint. Maybe now we can announce Pogba now that they bought a big caliber?
Well I don't see why they would rush tho. Especially with Higuain. Sure there are other parties interested but I doubt any of them(especially Arsenal) would pay the release clause. Yet they do just that.

I can understand if they look to buy some players before the Pogba sale kicks in and basically put selling clubs in favorable position in getting more with Juve having money to spend, but that Higuain fee is just ridiculous.

He even said it himself. His breaking point was Sir Alex going on and on about how good a talent Pogba is and then bringing Scholes out of retirement. There was also the case with playing fullbacks ahead of him in the league. I would have left if a manager showed that kind of lack of trust in me. I think at some point Sir Alex stopped caring about the long term future of the club and just wanted to get one on Manchester City before he retired.

Because he said so multiple times later? He wanted to play. SAF chose to play Rafael over him and later brought back Scholes who was retired. It's not like he left United for money. He was on the same wage he was on at United. The only difference seems to be that he got chances to play.

Do you know the sort of players who'd "lay for United"? They're currently mostly plying their trade in the lower leagues.

Some of you lot live in a fantasy world.

I truly want to play for United.

If we do re-sign him I hope all of ye are proved right and I'm proved wrong. Just seems to me he isn't all that bothered about playing for United. If he was he wouldn't have left in the first place. After all the only players ahead of him in the pecking order were a 35 year old asthmatic and a Brazillian fullback. If he was as great as you were all making out he would have been first choice within 12 months. Seems like a mercenary Cnut to me. As I say I hope I'm proved wrong.

That's before taxes mate. Taxes in Italy and UK are approximately the same so you need to add around 40% to that 4.5m euros.

I am not certain, but I think the "deadline" for the release clause of Higuain was the end of July this year. I'm not really sure that has any legal value though so yeah j agree with you, it's all very confusing.

July 18th...

(Napoli) De Laurentiis: "Juve won't pay the release clause. They have class. They will become extremely unlikeable if they sign Higuain"

(Juve) Marotta: "There are no negotiations for Higuain. The discussion is closed for now. We won't pay the release clause"

Further proves that Marotta talks shite constantly. Serial liar.

Stop looking at this from a United fan POV. Put yourself in the players' shoes. He is a professional. He has a window to earn as much as he can. He asked for money and playing time. We couldnt give him either and youre calling him a mercenary cnut? We were stupid to run down his contract to the last 6-12 months when we knew what potential he had.

You don't know the narrative if you're saying that.

Raiola at the time asked for his client (Pogba) to get guaranteed playing time, as he wasn't getting playing time under SAF. He was in the first team and SAF kept saying "soon / you're nearly there" and Pogba in his head was like "What does soon mean?" because the opportunity was never given.

So after Pogba and Raiola asked SAF for guaranteed games per season SAF said "I don't even give Rio, Vidic, Scholes guaranteed game time, so I won't for a youth player" along those lines. Then a game where Rafael was in the midfield after an injury crisis Pogba effectively said f-this and signed for Juve.

He did want to play for United he just felt United didn't want him to play for them.

Juve are just doing business. They don't want to lose him, so it is only natural that they are driving the price up as much as possible. They know you are desperate for a world class midfielder and exploit that as good as they can.
Thing is, you and any other club would do the same if they were in Juve's position.

Thing is If they don't want to sell, they would come out and say it. This is what sensible clubs do.

No. I won't stop looking it from that POV. I am a United fan. Not a Paul Pogba fan. I've heard that he has already said he'd prefer a move back to London if coming to PL. If, and it's only an if, he re-joined Conte at Chelsea would all the fan boys on here cope?

It doesnt mean shit even if they come out and say they arent selling their star player. They could very well sell him the week after.

Well thats your problem then. Thats why you dont see sense in the decision he made. And where exactly did he say he preferred a move to London? And as if Chelsea can afford his fees and wages.

Can you blame him? Its a big blow for Juventus and the fans. Its a hugh sum they get for him, but he is not easy to replace.

Don't get me wrong, it is a big blow for Juventus, all I ment was that his comment more or less confirms the transfer of Pogba.

I'm very familiar with the 'narrative'. I just don't like it and I don't like Paul Pogba and his agent. The same agent who probably brokered the Zlatan deal to suck us into a price battle for his over-rated French client. As I say I hope I'm proved wrong.

You say all this stuff about mercenaries but who should we sign then? There is no other option on the market which is as good as Pogba.

Could there realistically be another club in for Pogba that we haven't considered? City? :nervous:
They cant pay as much. Please they are after Sane who is costing them upwards of £40m and Stones who is going to cost them around £45-50m and that after signing two players for £35m. No way they are dropping another £100m on top of all this.

I would have preferred Kante personally.
He doesnt exactly bring to the table what we need in midfield. We need more of a Pogba type player than a Kante type player. And according to your logic, what makes you think Kante "wants" to play for United and isnt moving here because we can pay him more than anyone else?

50% of Juventuz having a meltdown and the other 50% in denial. Looking forward to a full meltdown when he leaves.

With that being said, they are probably equally looking forward to our meltdown if he goes to Madrid.

I would have preferred Kante personally.
You mean the guy that got plucked out of obscurity, won the title and got CL football. Who then decided to leave that all behind for extra money and living in London? Mercenary.

I think the media would have at least some information if that was the case. Don't think any club can go incognito in what appears to be the biggest deal in football ever

How could Fergie ever considered Rafael in midfield was a better option than Pogba ?

Is there anything to stop them spending 200m+ though? Ffp is pretty much irrelevant now.

Do you think Mourinhos suggestion that other clubs were involved was an exaggeration?
