Another crazy theory

Maybe Woodward has assumed all along that RM would come in and buy Pogba, like always happens in the end, whilst he can continue to demonstrate that he's in the market for the world's biggest players.

But now, Perez is sitting back laughing to himself by the size of the fee while Woody is going "OK, Perez, we are going to buy him....any - minute - now.....here we go....just the agent fee to sort out....."

If he was to go to Madrid, they'd have kept it super quiet, and for them, thats pretty much impossible.

Have they ever kept a record fee signing quiet? They like to make a huge fuss of their superior spending power don't they?

I think this guy was probably referring to me especially in relation to earlier posts I made about how United are still a globally bigger club then Juventus.

For some reason he fails to grasp the concept of our pull financially and globally as a brand and somehow think 3 average-mediocre seasons suddenly turn us into some mid level club or something.

I even specifically mentioned in one of my posts that despite our recent struggles on the pitch the last 3 years we're still 1 of the biggest team in the world which somehow seem to baffle him and think I'm fanboying :confused:.

We're in the top 3 richest club in the world, have insane commercial and marketing pull, one of the most recognizable football brand in the world as well as having the biggest fanbase in the world, but because we've had 3 sub par season, we're suddenly not one of the biggest club in the world? Who comes up with such logic?

It's not like we're the first to go through a bad patch of season as a big club or anything like that. This has happen to the like of Real, Barca, Bayern etc, however what they all had in common as well as us is the financial might to sort themselves out and get back to where they belong. We're not going to stay in this rot forever, we have the financial mean to fix this and pretty fast which is what we're currently attempting to do by spending large.

Nothing of this say we've become some mid tier level club, we are one of the biggest club in the world, it's pretty much a simple fact to understand.
 
Plot twist, the Pogba deal was signed and sealed the night his agent flew to New York for his signature.

This gave the go ahead for the Higuain deal because they had the money

We're waiting for Pogba to come back from holidays to make a huge media shit storm unavailing him, thus making his brand bigger which works in our favour because we own his image rights.
 
My first theory is that United are the only club with enough money to buy Pogba for the money Juve want and the only club that really needs him enough to pay the money Juve want and the only thing standing in the way of it happening is Juve wanting alot of money for him. Juve now spending an insane amount of money on Higuain would proof that an agreement with United has been reached and the transfer of Pogba to United is soon to be a reality.

My other theory is that Real Madrid are serial muppet dream killers and that before the summer is over they will have killed this muppet dream aswell.

For that money you want a player who's scoring 50 goals a season. What about a situation where you need a fecking midfielder like we do and, surprise surprise, there are very few (:lol:) midfielders who score 50 a season?

I mean, yeah, I'm not a fan of money we'll spend on him but Jesus, that's some bollocks from Scholesy. It's like he doesn't know how the modern market works.

Can't say I agree with him.
Pogba didn't leave because of money, but playing time. It was his ambition to become one of the best that made him leave.
Of course his understanding will be from what (likely) Sir Alex told him, but what Sir Alex told him and what came out later on (which he obviously didn't catch) is far from each other.

Not thinking he's worth the money is old-mans thinking, but I can accept that he thinks he isn't worth the money, it's a valid argument, doesn't mean we don't need him and have the cash to make it happen.

I find this hard to believe. We gave Januzaj a 40k per week contract and Pogba was at the club at the time we didn't have a cap on young players when it comes to salary.
