So much for a lot of us going on about Pogba not being worth the money mentioned and then Gonzalo Higuain goes doe €100m.. fecking hell

Man can someone reassure me because this doesn't look like concluding anytime soon.

This is how you're tested. They test your resolve these journos. Stay strong man. He is coming. They will cave in.
I'm trying man it's just that if we can't find an agreement soon then there is no way he is coming.

This deal is done.
All we are seeing now is a journo-fest to allow Juve to save face in front of their fans, so they can claim they sold Pogba for full asking price and even made United pay Raiola's fee.
United will pay what they are willing to pay, and if it gets beyond that they will let it go. Pogba is worth more to United than to any other club. This is like a company merger where there are great synergies. We want him to resolve a large part of our midfield issues for the next 10 years, and also for marketing purposes he will be a mainstay of United brand, benefiting the club and also Pogba. Not even Madrid can match that, and everyone involved in the negotiations know it.

And the top CB, top RB and backup RW?
The top CB, top RB and backup RW?

Because you specifically said we could get all 4 for 100m pounds

Some established veteran like Howedes or Subotic (last time I checked Subotic was going for €10-15MM) would be a good backup and complement Smalling very well. Can John Terry be had? How about de Vrij, Koscielny, Mascherano?

Say €20-25MM for a CB, another €45MM for Mahrez, another €60MM for Fabregas = below the lunacy we're trying to pay for one player (~€145MM). Maybe I'm being unrealistic with each one of these players' aptitudes and actual cost, but my point is we can really improve the squad with a larger portion of fantastic footballers than a single massive outlay on a CM.

Love Pogba, but at €145MM it becomes detrimental to bigger picture.

If people think about it, we've heard everything. Only yesterday, Higuains deal was going to take another week. Today AS lie and it's quickly dispelled. People just need to be patient. Napoli and Juve are meant to be great rivals but (i'm assuming), Napoli did Juve a favor by allowing two payments....it's for show. This was always going to be a difficult deal but United will not wilt even though some people lack what it takes to see it through. So chill.

Just remembered that the last time Raiola got frustrated he brought us a certain targaryan :smirk:

This is mad , some saying its on, others are shitting it saying its off WTF can't wait for this thread to be closed!! And it be done with!! It's like a drug I keep telling myself, I'm not gonna check again, then ten mins later..... :wenger:

Di Marzio says the deal is getting closer and people interpret that as bad news and start getting depressed. This place is ridiculous.

Not really worried one way or the other any more, we've offered an obscene, record smashing amount of money and if they're still whining it's not enough then they can find someone else to pay it.

I'm optimistic now.

Di Marzio was just assuming that because Raiola looked nervous that nothing got done in the meeting which is not the case.

That's easy to say but let's be smart about it. Any agents fee could be used for things in the future. The club aren't stupid. They know that if he lives up to his potential, his value will go up. Even if United paid his fees, that could be for his loyalty in future dealings. It's not all black and white and we don't have to cut our nose off to spite our face.

Just chill.

Ask yourself:

How much is Pogba worth to Real Madrid, who already have a great midfield plus CR7 and Bale? Perez hasn't really shown much interest.

This deal is on.

"Raiola left the meeting looking nervous, but an update on the results of the meeting has not yet been learned."

So you assume that Raiola looking nervous means there is no agreement? Fine journalism there.

He started throwing tables around with Dortmund, with Juve he comes out shitting himself. He needs to stop fecking round in swimming pools and start lobbing shit at Morotta and his wonky eye if he's going to earn his 25 mill.

Yeah, can't see why you should be negative after reading that. If you believe it that is.

It's more that Juve are taking the piss and banking (literally) on our desperation. Call their bluff.

Pogba might want to stay now that they have strengthened their squad so much. If Juve can afford not to cash in now, that is. Their squad with Pogba is probably stronger than ours.

This thread is nuts. People get so emotionally vested.

If we get Pogba, great. If not move on to target 2 or 3. What's the big problem? Mourinho's got a plan right?

Pepe Moratta said talks are still ongoing. That is all I need to hear. Juventus are openly talking about this transfer. People need to relax.
Reckon it will be done this week.

This isn't looking too likely to me anymore. When Fatman doesn't have his way, you know things aren't looking too good

I think the quote just means that finishing the Higuain deal is the focus for Juv currently. Once everything is concluded they will focus on the Pogba transfer
I was thinking on similar lines.

In this case Raiola's way is our way. He's trying to make Juve pay what they agreed to pay when they signed Pogba. Juve want us to pay.
