Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

Whether or not United pay Raiola's fee is just simple math. Let's say United are willing to pay up to 120 million euros, total. There are 2 ways to structure the deal:

United pay Juve €100m
United also pay Railo's fee of €20m
Total outlay for United = €120m

If United pay Juve €120m
Juve must pay Raiola 20% of 120= €24m
Juve keeps €96m instead of €100m.
Total outlay for United is still €120m

So although in both cases the outlay is 120m, it does work out better for Juve if United agree to "pay" Raiola's fee instead of them. And that's how it is being done.

Feck sake I'm sick of this, if he's not signed by the time I wake up tomorrow then we should pull out, it's ridiculous.

lol

Did someone say that Juve are going back on an agreement to pay the agents fees?

It's all speculation at the moment mate.

It seems to be the most plausible explanation for the hold up though.

Can we have an alternative poll of "who would like Pogba and his over-paid agent to f**k off so we can sign Matuidi instead for 70 million less?"
what if we sign Matuidi for a 100m just to spite them? dollar dollar bills y'all!!!

They arent going back on their deal. They cant. They are legally bound to pay the agent. But, in my opinion, they just want more money to keep for themselves. So instead of looking for 120m Euros I think they are looking for 140m Euros so they can keep 120m to themselves instead of getting 120m and holding onto 100m.

I have a question.

If juventus want 120 + we pay Riaola

and we dont want to pay Riaola and have offered 110, how exactly is the deal close? I just want to understand that concept :(

it's close because numbers are being discussed, which means all three parties are ready to do business.

Because no one knows the real number. We dont know if that is true. Everyone is speculating including myself.

Yes but then we are back to exactly where we were when Marrota said basically we have stalled.

Fair enough, was just wondering if what Carlo Laudiso said was new or just what all have said from earlier today. For me deal close at this stage means someone has agreed to pay that fat cnut which based on the 110 offered doesnt seem so, unless the 110 is net to Juventus? I wanna celebrate and burst into pheonix flames but not if nothing has changed since basically Riaola has been in Miami in his Man Utd swim trunks

If United maximum outlay is 120m euros, but United agree to pay Raiola from this total outlay, Juve can actually keep about 4m euro more than if United pay 120m to Juve and then Juve pay Raiola.
See my post in page 658 for a full detail of how this works.

Maybe they'll agree to 110 and us paying Raiola.
