English clubs are, everyone else is civil. Juve being the exception becuase they are using our money. Unless someone bought sanchez from barca for 60 million that year i dont see how they could have got much higher for him. Madrid never had the funds after what they spent. and the TV deal was 2/3 years awaythe tv deal inflates the market. clubs are throwing money around.
75 million wasn't really a good deal since the market was putting its first feet into madness. David Luiz? Liverpool should have realized that the new TV deal money was going to let loose chaos. they could have gotten 100 million for him, easily.
Especially with both Madrid and Barca needing strikers.

All true, but in 2-3 years when the first £200 million player is signed people will probably say that Juventus should have held out for at least £150 million for Pogba.
£70 odd million for Suarez a few years back was good business, it only now looks cheap when it's compared with today's inflated market.

Barca have government money. they have endless supply.
Haha, cheers pal. Bring it on today.
If they did they would have been able to afford Pogba, especially since they were willing to offer up to 80m Euros to sign Gomes and Gameiro. Extra 40m is nothing if they had "endless" supply of money.Barca have government money. they have endless supply.

Oh wow, I can't wait for tomorrow now! I still can't believe we're about to break the world record to sign arguably the most promising young player in world football! Praying for a BBC article tomorrow morning!

oh, young muppet. your naive outlook is endearing.
how fecking stupid do Liverpool look right about now? Luis fecking Suarez for only 75 million? Seriously? Their muppets must be on suicide watch.
But they literally said, they were priced out.they don't want Pogba. Same reason Pep doesn't want him. he can't play that system.

‘We know Pogba, he is a player who proved to be very strong and, for a while, Barcelona were interested, but clearly the dynamics changed and once the figures reached a certain point, we were no longer interested.'
Braida said that himself

Well then would you say Real Madrid dont want him either ?exactly. they didn't value him enough to get into the fight. if they thought he could be a Neymar caliber player, they'd have joined the chase.
Exactly, he is borderline world class right now, but still has huge potential! He's only recently turned 23.I don't think its just promise we are buying.
Memphis was promise (which failed). Martial was promise (which is likely to succeed - he is not there yet).
But Pogba can operate at a World Class level, right now. He has already played in the Euro Final for country. He has played in CL final for Juve. And already won league titles. Its startling that he is so young and already accomplished so much.
He may improve further, but we are buying him to have immediate impact; not be great in 2 years.
Luiz was a train wreck that year just came off a ban and went on to have another one where barca couldnt play him till end of october. Where liverpool were asshats was not getting Sanchez in exchange
He was a walking timebomb of a disgrace who was suspended for a few months and at risk of missing years if he bit someone again.Suarez did not cost £75M.
This is a misnomer.
His cost: £65M
Barca got a great deal on him. Who knows why LFC gave in so easily. Arguably one of the best and most in form strikers in the World and he gets sold for a moderate price.
Usually when you talk about taking a percentage as a cut you take it from the fee, not add it on. So, if we pay €100m to Juve and Raiola gets a 20% cut, then surely Juve would get €80m and fat cnut €20m? Not €100m to Juve and €20 to chub equalling €120m. I'm not too sure though, just seems to make more sense.Whether or not United pay Raiola's fee is just simple math. Let's say United are willing to pay up to 120 million euros, total. There are 2 ways to structure the deal:
United pay Juve €100m
United also pay Railo's fee of €20m
Total outlay for United = €120m
If United pay Juve €120m
Juve must pay Raiola 20% of 120= €24m
Juve keeps €96m instead of €100m.
Total outlay for United is still €120m
So although in both cases the outlay is 120m, it does work out better for Juve if United agree to "pay" Raiola's fee instead of them. And that's how it is being done.
Well then would you say Real Madrid dont want him either ?
Absolutely... Even the Twitter ITK's fit into that mould..Much obliged....I work with my mates dad who drinks with a....just kidding..I know sod all about transfers...should fit in well![]()
This. I think Lpool knew they needed to cash in and Barcelona being Barcelona didn't really care about the whole peckish malarkey. They took him on, let him train and serve his ban, then of course reaped the shameful benefits from October 2014 onwards. He was a walking timebomb of a disgrace who was suspended for a few months and at risk of missing years if he bit someone again.
It was a fair price imo
