Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

I'm surprised I have not seen this mentioned yet.

Anyone else get the vibe that even if we do sign Pogba, he'll want off to Madrid in a few years? I'd rather not have a player who doesn't seem too keen to play for us.

My first post in ages so mention me or whatever if you reply, not sure how the system works.

So he plays for us for 3/4 years, helps us win the league & CL, then we sell him to Madrid for £200M, win-win.

Pogba is an idiot if he lets Zidane sway him, ZZ is not going to be in charge of Real in two years

Well they've repeatedly bitch-slapped us in the transfer market tbf. Taken United players and got a great return from them, then convinced us to break the PL transfer record to sign a fecking turkey. A bit of bad blood is inevitable.

The whole DDG last minute fax fiasco was hilarious, eased a bit of hatred I had for them.

OK, if we strip out all the media / press reports and speculation, what have we got in terms of actual quotes / evidence?

Zidane saying he is interested in Pogba
Raoila saying it is not a done deal "bla bla bla"
A photo of Raoila and Pogba in a pool laughing

Anything else?
No

Yes every 4th page.

Oh well, at least @ehsanul will be happy.
ugh he posted those quotes in here hours ago. We laughed them off at Madrid trying to appease to their fans. the quotes were before the Italian papers came out and said he's close to signing for us after the meeting

Di Marzio and his buddies saying that negotiations are still ongoing.

yes, what you have posted makes up 25 percent of the posts in here... and there is a lot of bla bla bla in here

Has James been Sold? NO

HAS Kroos been Sold? NO

Have Madrid entered a bid? NO

Do Madrid have a deal in principle with Pogba? NO

Redcafe: "Yeah but you see, Zidane said Pogba is a great player, so none of that other stuff really matters":wenger::lol::wenger::lol::wenger:

I'm worried about our image and the bad effect it'll have on the club, the fans and especially the manager. It'll show that even with all the money in the world, we can't attract the top players anymore, and falling like City or Chelsea

Sad

This was mentioned before.
We already missed out on Neymar, Muller, Bale (and probably a bunch of others). Pogba will be just another name to add to this list.
Our problem is the lack of CL football. We made a bad decision hiring Moyes, when Jose was available. That would've been the time to break the bank and hire Jose at all costs.
The last 3 years have to be wiped from our memories, as this time was used to learn from our mistakes.

I don't see that as an issue. If he comes here it'll be on a big and lengthy contract, so if Madrid comes in for him we'll be able to demand a massive fee. Right now we absolutely need a world class midfielder, we can worry about the future afterwards.

You can't even answer the bloody question though. What did Bale achieve before his move to Real Madrid? He earned that move on the back of one great season, 2012/13. Pogba has achieved more with Juventus and has earned this transfer fee.

I did answer the question. Bale was head and shoulders the best player in the PL when he was sold. In terms of what he achieved its unfair to dismiss his achievements as an individual in England just because the team he played in didn't challenge. Pogba by contrast is playing in a Juve side that are probably the best back five in the world with. Juve have have achieved domestic success not Pogba on his own. There is no comparison in talent level between Bale and Pogba. Bale is streets ahead. You only have to look at their individual performances to see that. Spending 120m on Bale would make sense. It makes no sense on Paul Pogba.

The whole theme of this thread has been "Anyone who says anything about Pogba to United" rejoice like there's no tomorrow and keep updating the thread title. Now news coming out about Real entering the race, then suddenly start questioning the media. I will be glad once the nonsense is over and he signs for Real because he is absolutely not needed and as Jose says we have alternatives who might turn out to be better that this fecking prima donna who hasn't acheived anything meaningful along with a dufus of an agent who is only there to grab money for himself.

We should be staying away from such idiotic deals rather than entering a show boating contest to show how much money you can splurge.

 Think some here are really insane...there is no downside if Madrid comes in picture and offer the same and Pogba chooses them over us. We would use that money and spend it somewhere else,in same time we wouldnt have a player, who sees us as not number one option.

Being scared of Real Madrid a circus of a club...what a bunch of wussies.

It would be poetic justice if while Juve, Pogba and the agent dick about for weeks being greedy, that his form dives, we buy players who turn out to be far better for far less money and he ends up going to Real at the end of his contract on a free, but then play only five games in the space of two years due to being so shit, then ends up at Galatasary or somewhere

You can think what you want but the fact is that players always want to play with the best players. You talk of someone else but name no one and I can't think of anyone with similar potential. How people look at the club is very important. Just like how we view the club and so in time we don't become a selling club because theres' better 'value' out there.

We can sign Pogba and still do business. The problem isn't just the money we spend but the fact we are useless at shifting players...That's partly because 9/10 they don't want to go. IF we want to keep our talents, then we have to be seen to be able to compete so it's psychological as much as anything.

Your route and we're more likely to lose players and be talking of value in the market - while other clubs price us out. Madrid did a crazy thing under Perez and many will say it flopped...but you know? I suspect it worked. That is why despite you calling them a circus, they have a pull because players know they won't just talk about doing something...

They actually have been vindicated as Bale has won 2 champions league with Madrid and helped them win it. Pogba on the other hand has won the piss poor seria a with a depleted Inter & AC Milan teams and failed to win the Champions league even once.

If he wants to move then he'll want to perform to very high standards at United to achieve his goal. We'll make a profit. More Paella for Riola.

What's to lose?

I'm 100% convinced he's moving this summer. Higuain's deal plus the need to refresh virtually the whole Juventus squad over the next couple of years sees to that. They need the money and he has to see they're facing the downward slope.

As to where he goes, there's far too much smoke for there not to be some truth that's he's at least VERY close to joining us. I wont believe it until i see him in the shirt, and theres no chance anyone will officially confirm it until we can put him in the shirt and milk the press attention, which wont happen until he's back from holiday.

What, no money back guarantee?

No guarantee that Pogba is going to improve United and win the champions league. We need to qualify first. Plus it's something that's very difficult to win. Plus we can get other players who can get us to win the exact same trophy without looking like we are getting mugged.

People laughing at Juvetus for spending so much on Higuain need to look at the mirror. We will be bigger idiots if we spend the money on an overhyphed and over rated midfielder.

Ffs, 99% of players would chose Madrid over us.

What other anagrams can we make out of this?

Obtained Pug OT!

Anagrams of Pogba to United? See red:

Onto big update:
A budget option, or perhaps an aged tub option is a tabooed pig nut. Bat outdone pig and gob up antidote, because the ego button paid and Madrid adopt being out bid by the toad pigeon tub. An age doubt point to Pogba and a badge outpoint.

Now, if we read between the lines it clearly states that we will announce this deal tomorrow.
Add all the letters in tomorrow (each letter as placed in the alphabet). The total is 137.
Now add the universal prediction constant of the letter O (15) and you get 28/7.
28 July.

It's ON!

In essence I agree, it starts a bad domino effect, say we pay that much for one player, what does that say with other big players we sign they will want the price we payed for pogba. I feel these crazy transfer prices would motivate clubs to work harder on their academy, bring players from within, seems like a pipe dream, but why not? it is possible. Or? the clubs work harder by scouting the best players, much like finding hiding treasures on anything, it can happen with players if your scouts are good enough.

Ya the same way Madrid have paid upwards of 80 Million for all their transfers since Ronaldo, right?
