If anything there will be a lot of 'day trippers' at Old trafford on Wednesday and i imagine it would make more sense to get Pogba announced before then to generate more sales at the megastore.

I'm not sure on that, they staggered the announcements of Zlatan, Giggs leaving Mourinho's press conference and Mkhitaryan...although that could have been by chance and selling shirts is a compelling argument.
I think this will be announced tomorrow or Tuesday latest. Don't know what is still holding them back when the deal is pretty much confirmed.

Strangely quiet in here today. Less posts/tweets. An air of tranquility has descended; only distant half-hearted background moans. What an odd saga this has been; madly overcooked now, it will be a dinner served cold. This place has the feel of a matchday thread with us five nil up, the oppo fans gone for the buses. Still, the game yesterday was encouraging; still, can't wait for the season to begin. Who cares when they announce, or cryptic clues from Raiola or a sponsor ... PP is ours.

based on what? I love how posters like this think they have some kind of special insight, like THEY are the ones who can only see through the lies and deception. You have absolutely NO ITK knowledge around what is going to happen. Neither do the people hoping it will happen. However what we have is respected and reputable journalists telling us it's likely to happen, so we believe them until evidence shows otherwise.
Juve don't make announcements on the weekend, the Di Marzio crew have already said this. Utd don't usually either, unless there's some pressing reason to.

I dont think announcing it on Monday is overshadowing Rooney's testy. But in that case it might be Thursday/Friday. He is back from vacation on August 6th, which is Saturday but like people have said Im not too sure we announce deals on a weekend.
I would guess he was just posting that there alot of cocksure people on here, and perhaps just perhaps it might not go as planned, I wouldn't say his post indicated he had any sort of inside knowledge.
It seems anyone who has doubts is best keeping their opinions to themselves at this point though.

Oh god no, please don't censor yourself. That is the last thing i want, truly. However i think the best thing to do is to qualify where your doubts come from. Like if it's just "your gut" telling you that then at least make that clear, or if you think a reputable news article shows some new doubt then by all means.

Well, there's nothing to discuss. It's just waiting for Pogba to get back from his vacation now and see what he does. I'm still a bit worried if he returns to Turin that they may be able to convince him to stay for another year.

I don't subscribe to that theory. If it gets done they will announce it.
People said we wouldn't announce before the game yesterday because of Zlatan, yet it was played in front of a half empty stadium (much like the Rooney game I expect) and it was hardly a huge event. If anything it might bring more excitement to the game.
As someone pointed out earlier, if they can get it done before then, you can guarantee that they'll announce it before the game. Perfect opportunity to sell some shirts in the Megastore and earn some money.
tbf, i had a look through the last few pages of their pogba thread, there are only a few juve fans thinking that he is staying, and they are basing it on nothing more than pogba leaving would mean the adidas ad was aimed at disrespecting Juve. The rest of the juve fans on there have come to terms with him leaving. This is killing both sets of fans because we just want it to be over.
Jose said yesterday how we don't have time to get players ready for the start of the season. If Paul's arrival is imminent, I assume he will want it to be done asap, irrespective of Rooney's testimonial.
