To all the people saying Pogba wanted to complete his holiday..

Why does it matter if Pogba has completed his holiday or done his medical.
None of that is required for the clubs to make a statement that a fee has been agreed subject to personal terms and a medical. We've done it before.
That's what is frustrating.

I think they want to unveil him like Real Madrid do with their galactico signings

Crazy to think some deals are done in hours on deadline day. The lawyers on duty on deadline day must charge an arm and a leg.

I'm sure its not an issue with the lawyers being slow, its just that after every little change from 2 to 5 parties need to review and approve all changes (Juventus, MUFC, Raiola, Pogba, and perhaps even Adidas).

Pogba tweets is the easiest way to get followers. Everybody can say "Done deal, matter of time" without losing credibility.
I put no faith in Pogba tweets.

Hard to believe that Di Marzio is getting so much shit in this thread even though he has maintained that this is happening for a long time now, obviously it's impossible to know the exact timings of such a huge deal but if this deal happens then Di Marzio will be the undisputed transfer king imo.

Because then all the buzz and hype dies down and is replaced by "oooh I hope he passes his medical, what if we can't agree personal terms, what if he falls over on holiday and breaks his ankle".

If it's a world record transfer fee then you can absolutely guarantee that Paul, Mino, ourselves and adidas will want to make one hell of a song and dance about it, and all this hype is just increasing the impact said song and dance will have.

As annoying as it is for us muppets, it makes absolutely sense to be like this.

Can we have some formations here? I actually can't think of how we'll play with him in the side. If he's playing in midfield 2 then we'll need a proper defensive midfielder which I am not sure if we have. If he's going to be asked to breakup play, and stay disciplined, then there are other cheaper options out there. Right?

So is Di Marzio saying that the meeting is right now and Juve will sign it off today?

Or that it's still going to take another week of meetings and crap?

Agree.

The silence will be for marketing reasons.

They will want to have some grand announcement like with Zlatan.

Because this is not every other transfer. It is a world record deal and our first one at that. We'd want maximum coverage and eyes on the deal.

We don't do Madrid style unveiling, So the next best thing is to at least have the player in front of OT or Carrington next to the manager and for that we need the player physically present.

We want it probably done in one swoop rather than announce it on Thursday and wait till Monday when the lead news might be Community Shield among other things. I'm just guessing here.

It kind of already has tbh!

Most supporters are actually frustrated with the time it has taken and lost much of the excitement. There just won't be as much of the excitement and delight amongst supporters as there might have been maybe if it was just announced with a statement from United.

This has been explained. It's so that Juventus get the most out of the money. Is that hard to understand? As soon as clubs know you've got money, the fee goes up. That simple. This isn't pre school. You have to factor in everyones interests and Juventus aren't stupid. That is why they wouldn't release that statement - because even if the money wasn't in the coffers - other clubs would get greedy.

Yes! As suspected, he'll fly straight from his holidays to Manchester (next day or two) and it will all be finalised.

Can't understand why people are so impatient. It's done ffs, just let it go through when it goes through!

This thread is a quality read if you read the first 50 pages, some people haven't half changed their tone about pogba, now it looks like we will get him

They just want Pogba at the AON complex with his Adidas shirt and Chevrolet logo all in the right place when they announce it. Think they have missed the hype window though. Not surprising but people seem to be tired of the whole thing it's been so dragged out.

I know what you mean, it's certainly less hyped at the moment as opposed to a couple of weeks back. Yet here we are almost a thousand pages deep and I bet you like me have been talking about it in work every day this week! :-)

Wouldn't have the same wow factor if they announce it in stages. Announce it in one go and gain maximum exposure and milk the rewards.

Monday is Pogba day.

Back from holiday Saturday, Juve dont do transfers at weekends. Monday is the most logical answer as t has been for months.

I'd be pretty surprised if a lot of the posters in this thread have jobs.

Yes, they have missed the hype window.
It's just us obsessed fans that keep coming to this forum and Twitter to check on the deal. But life goes on, and the rest of the sports world has already lost some interest. By the time they annouce it will be old news.

Frustrating to internet muppets, yes, sure. But United will get massive bang for their buck assuming this is announced soon. The biggest football transfer ever on the eve of the start of the season. Guess what, that's going to dominate the news no matter how long it's been drawn out.

People were complaining about how long it was taking to confirm Zlatan. Don't think that lowered the excitement at all when it was finally official.

As exciting as it'll be to have it official and to see him in our shirt, it's truly anti-climactic at this point. Too many daily twitter updates, too many "in the next 48 hours" (every 48 hours for the last few weeks). This is what happens when transfer muppets become self-aware, and transfer threads go meta.

Pogba won't be returning to Juventus so this will be done within the next few days.

Yay, another Di Marzio prediction.

Why did they bother with todays update. Why not just wait til he has confirmation of Juve signed the documents then "update". Still think they are the best in the business though.

This is going to be announced tomorrow, I can feel that this is exactly how Adidas would have planned it. Announce it tomorrow and make a big show of Pogba coming to Manchester on Saturday and then the camera repeatedly panning out to him as he watches the Community Shield from the stands.

Sign the fecking contract you fecking feck. Am I doing it right?

The people calling it anti-climatic are coming across like spoilt brats because they didn't get the new toy quick enough to fit with their ridiculous lack of patience.

Because their update today was probably more a focus on how Juventus plan for the aftermath of Pogba, and just get a shit ton of daily questions about the Pogba deal + knew that an article about Juventus plans, would draw even more questions their way, that they decided to put in the latest information they had.
