Bailly our new pacey Vidic?

Watching the community shield I can't help feeling all tingly by prospect of Bailly. Fast, strong, fearless, tall, all the things needed for good defender. He could easily become our transfer of the year.

Do you guys see the same I do? Or am I completely off the track?

He needs a lot of work, but you can't miss the raw potential
 
He could very well be the signing of the summer. He looked shaky at the start, but he quickly settled in. He's pacey, strong, tall,... Actually everything we've been missing.

I'm looking forward to see how he progresses the coming months!
 
I think he looks arrogant, rash and subsequently makes a number of poor decisions. Lots of great basic skills to work with but a long way to go yet.
 
Obvious potential. Bit silly to compare him to Vidic as he's had many a Phil Jones moment today.

Hopefully he'll mature nicely and we'll have a great centre back.

You are right that its a long way to Vidic but Im hoping he could get there. He can get there in my opnion.
 
The looked very good. A bit rash at times but looks like he enjoys defending probably a bit early to compare to Vidic. The one thing he has over Vidic is his passing, very much calm with the ball at his feet.

Will make mistakes this season but looks very very promising for the future.
 
He has a very long way to go to reach that level. The abilities are there, but right now, the comparison shouldn't be made for the sake of Bailly.
 
Not like redcafe or United fans to go way OTT. Does Depay last season not make posters hold back with this type of hype? Or Jones?
 
If he ends up being anywhere near Vidic's level, we should be happy. But let's give him at least one Premier League game before we start comparing him to Vidic. A bit knee jerk.

That said, I think he's got bags of potential, and I hope he fulfils it.
 
He has played one game!!!!! The hyperbole in this places amazes me....
 
Not being racist but he reminds me of Jaap Stam.
 
He's a bit too rash when he's off the ball, and a bit too composed when he's on it. I think the style of player he is will result in a few individual howlers along the way but I think his potential is very high.
 
Kind of feel that he only relies on his physical capabilities such aa pace, strength, height, instead of his brain.
 
He was reckless and a card waiting to happen. Skinned by Vardy a few times. At the same time saw his promise and is excited to see how he develops.
 
A bit like Smalling I can see a few unnecessary fouls being committed by him which will cost us.
 
Similar no nonsense style, also the way he steps up from the back line to challenge the ball is very Vida. If he keeps improving he'll be a legend here.
 
Smalling - Blind should still be the partnership for the majority of the year. Give them some breaks though, they got burnt out at times during the year and lost their great form.
 
Rash as feck. Had my heart in my mouth when he did that ridiculous flying foul in the Leicester PK box. If it was a league match, he probably would have been sent off.
 
Raw but very talented. Needs a bit of time to settle in and get used to the Prem. Will probably be very good in the future.
 
He's really good ,but he needed to hold at times or stop overdo certain things to avoid any injuries.
 
Love his aggression though. You cant teach that. He will get better with experience.

All thats missing is the positioning and intelligence. We are going to have to live through his mistakes but he is already an absolute beast of a player.

People forget this and the fact he was 2-3 years older than Bailly too.

The lad is going to be a beast in the centre back position. With him, Smalling, Blind and Rojo we have some real options at centre half.

Caf think Blind and Rojo are shite and shld have been sold long ago.

he wasn't shit. I rememeber him having a cracking game against Arsenal in his first few months. But yea, he wasn't one to rave about until he settled with Rio.
