Rothen: Di Maria's PSG form affected by poor attitude

Not exactly a surprise that someone who moved from Real to (the current) United to PSG might not be burning with desire every single game.
What a loads of nonsense. Even at Real, he had 6 good months at the end of the 2013/14 season. What was wrong before that? He was considered no better or worse than someone like Nani until that period. Oh right, Real were also getting knocked out of the last 16 in the CL and couldn't win a title. I get it now.

He wasn't part of the team that couldn't pass the last 16 of the CL, he was part of the team who actually stopped those bad results.

ok, i had never heard of him before, but hey. thanks anyway!

Late response here but he was heavily linked to Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool at one point. Some people thought he could be Gigg's natural replacement at the time so many were disappointed when he joined PSG

He's been great last season and is starting to look good again after a slow start this season but I guess you can't argue with a tweet.

Thankfully he left last summer and we got good money for him.

He didnt make it up. Some posters are still bitter.
Ah, I thought that was far too big a story to have flown under the radar. Thanks for confirming.

Di Maria has been good last season and he is good this season too.
If he didn't want to stay at United we were better of getting a decent return for him. A player with a suspect attitude is not what we need.

I agree but his value is about the same as it was a year ago. Reading your post, I assumed that you were implying that he lost in value.

I meant we did right in selling him when we did (and got good money) going by reports of his attitude and not wanting to be at United.

I imagine the stolen property from the burglary is being stored in the same place as Pete Townshend's book.

Does L'Equipe generally have good sources within PSG?

It comes from Kluivert, PSG's DoF. Since the beginning of the season they blame the players for not having the "right" mentality, this week it's Di Maria.

Sounds familiar.

They should blame themselves, none of the signings have had a impact, Emery included. So they basically have the same team without Ibrahimovic and with better opponents.

My bad. He joined Real in 2010 and they did better since then. He still was considered no better or worse than a talented yet inconsistent winger until that first 6 months in 2014 where he played at a consistently high level for the first time in his career. I don't think that makes him a top player and I actually don't think he is considered as one apart from a number of people who were desperate for us to buy one in that first summer under LvG.

The poster might be referring to the fact that the break-in didn't actually happen - there was an attempt but it was stopped (by security I think? Can't remember that detail right now). Not much of a distinguition maybe, but that was what I thought the post meant - the break-in didn't happen.

If he says fictitious, my interpretation would be that Di Maria just invented it, that nothing happened, not even an attempt. He clearly means that, another conspiracy theorist. Well you cant argue against that

I'm still of the opinion that he's a class act, not saying LVG wasn't right in dropping him nor that he didn't really want to be here in the first place but it's still a shame that once he was here we didn't get more out of him

With Zlatan gone from PSG though he's probably looking around wondering who's going to take them to that next level

hoping for someone to take any pressure off him

Shit attitude. Shit signing. Madrid saw us coming. Guess we should be pleased PSG have more money than sense but Woodward's galactico policy has been a bit of a disaster so far.
Which galactico have we signed in the last 3 years apart from Pogba (and maybe di Maria)? Don't think Martial can be termed as a galactico.

Di Maria was great in his first season for us, he was very good in the half season he played(missed the other half to injury) his second year, then he got a new contract and was inconsistent in his third season(mou's last). He was inconsistent in the first half season under ancelotti, but then was by far our best player in the second half of the season. Obviously he's not Messi, but he's still a pretty damn effective player overall and when he's on song, he's one of the 6-7 best players in the world.

He was PSG's best player by a mile last season. Dunno what's up with him this season, maybe the rumors that he wants to come back home are true. Would take him back in an instant
