Champions League Round of 16 (14th Feb - 15th Mar)

Can't believe they're 2 up and Messi has still barely turned up. Messi, Suarez and Iniesta need to massively improve and they can take this to extra time. If they'd shown this desire in the first leg, they wouldn't be in this postion right now!

No he won't. Ridiculous to even suggest this mate.

I don't think it is. He didn't start well at PSG and if they get put out tonight and don't win the Ligue 1 then he might. Stranger things have happened.

Psg deserve this. Came to defend and nick a lucky one.

That's the first thing Messi does when he goes down. Signature move.

Turn around screaming like a madman for a yellow? I'd like you to show me at least 3 instances of that in the last five years

What happened??

Got a yellow for "complaining" after his opposing player (who is around 25 kg heavier than he is) went down after a feathers touch, was then involved in a tackle which could have resulted in a second booking.

Even if he does, who would they employ? Monaco coach?
Wenger :p good point though.

Not really. He was clearly brought in to make them much more competitive in Europe. Their relatively poor domestic performance together with a bad showing in Europe may be enough to get rid.

Barca winning through pure desire basically, both goals almost "pushed" in, not like they are creating loads of chances. Messi and suarez have been pretty shit so far but if they step it up then they'll get the job done. Think they'll end up just missing out though.

What happened??
Got a first yellow for endless complaining after he committed a harmless foul. Then 2-3 minutes later stepped onto the foot of an opposing player midfield/sideline, which was a yellow card 90% of the time, too.

Barca have been pretty average themselves even though they've shown great heart, desire and workrate. Messi and Suarez have been mediocre and both really need to get going.

Emery's tactics have been horrible. They're not a great defensive team so trying to soak up pressure should've never been an option, even with a 4 goal lead.
an interesting point

how many times a year do PSG have to play within themselves and be disciplined, to be defensive, to stifle opponents

I've no memory of them trying to do that

This shows how important an away goal is in Europe. If only Umtiti didn't miss that glorious chance in the first leg, Barca is through with just 1 more goal.
We really need to score a goal tomorrow against Rostov. I'd rather take a 1-2 loss than a 0-0 draw back to Old Trafford.

Barca have not even played well, like at all. That 2nd minute goal was the worst thing that could have happened for PSG. A goal on counter is always an option at Nou Camp, they really need to execute their counters better.

Good refereeing at Barca - PSG. Neymar could've received a penalty though, even if it would have been a soft one.

Yea, Barca is lucky to be 2-0 up. Both goals game after half chances. They haven't created much pressure. PSG is still big favourite to go through.

Oh please, all he did was gesturing that he barely touched his opposing player. If that is "endless complaining" you would get a nervous breakdown in every La Liga match.

Yeah, so for that reason I doubt they'd employ Monaco coach, think they'd want someone with European pedigree for sure. Incidentally, they could go for Luis Enrique, if he doesn't take a sabbatical.

I hate Benfica but Dembele should be off (thank goodness he didn´t)

Its in Barcelona. If PSG attacked they would be caught on the counter.

Yellow card for dissent, 4 minutes later stupid tackle in opposition half where he catches the opponent because he doesn't pull out of the tackle after the ball is played. Not the worst foul ever, but it's one of those where refs might normally give yellows to let everyone know that they have to stick to the rulebook and that the ref is there to keep the game fair. Atkinson didn't show a second yellow though. Both scenes were absolutely unnecessary.

That's what I'm saying. PSG are at their best when they're taking the game to someone. Playing in this manner not only stifles their team but gives Barcelona complete control of this game and the tie.

So you're saying because he does it in his polite introvert way, it's OK?

Almost every player asks for cards when he gets fouled a couple time or when they get hacked in the last third of the field, the difference most of the time is how they complain, Busquets did the same today and he also saw a yellow card like Cavani
