What a waste of time. Won't be beating much else in the competition at this rate.

Job done against a team parking the plane

Thank you Romero. That was a fine fine performance.

I think we are getting worse as the season goes on....and I'm not trying to be negative but we haven't put in a good performance for awhile

We look a very tired team but glad we made it through to the next round

That was fecking atrocious, haven't felt so deflated during a United game since LvG was in charge, horrible to watch and horrible tactically, if not for Romero we'd be out..

Romero like a boss. Juan Hugs Mata delivers. No need to comment on the first half performance.
On we go. Let's get an 'easy' draw for the quarter finals (please....).

Edit - almost forgot - enjoyed banangate:lol:

It was well boring but despite the saves from big Rom we never really felt in trouble.

Having 4 CBs on for the last however long was a bit ridiculous and annoying, but don't care, we are through and Romero may actually be a God so could be worse.

Awful performance, against an extremely poor team. I hope we can find form again soon, as of late it's been atrocious.

What a weird second half. Bananagate, Jones's Bale-esque left wing run, Fellaini's Zidane-esque flicks...

Job done, I think the way we played was to try and conserve some energy. We played to just do enough. Clearly a lot of the players are feeling the effects of a very busy schedule, which is set to continue.

I like the formation, but it clearly needs work positionally at the back.

Romero continues to show what a quality deputy he is, and Mikhi is showing his talents too, clearly our best player at the moment.

Injury to Pogba is a concern, although he could do with the rest, and maybe a break from the constant scrutiny will do him good too.

Got through. All that matters.

3 center backs were redundant and I don't think we have the players to play that system anyway.

Good result, decentish performance considering we were already "ahead". Not sure what all the extreme complaints are about.

Lets beat Boro somehow and players will get a good rest. At least ones who aren't playing internationals. :D

really poor and the kind of game that makes you question Jose's decision making

can understand the 3 at the back.....when it was clear it was overkill why not change it

obvious the longer the game went on the more nervous we would be

Pogba poor before the injury, Zlatan wasteful and didn't look interested at times, the balance was not right and I felt Herrera/Mata/Mhiki were our bright spots.

the substitutions of Fellaini proved a good one - he did well enough and certainly looked better than Pogba despite his limitations. Jones at Left wing back??? what are you thinking Jose

In the end Romero made 3 fantastic saves to book our place.

really disappointing and we won't win the trophy playing like that - I liked how someone described it in the matchday thread....Rostov are relative minnows and Jose was cowardly in the tactics - making a mockery of his song

There needs to be some context for tonight - the injuries, fatigue and lack of preparation under a hectic schedule clearly affected us. Players don't always need an energy boost from bananas and Jones didn't look fully fit as he required an inhaler shortly after coming on.

Can't wait for the international break to give us a bit of a breather, assuming it does so anyway. Would be ideal to see middlesbrough roll over for us. The players deserve a pat on the back for getting the job done in an adjusted system and overcoming a couple of forced injuries. Rostov are an easier side in the competition but they aren't a rollover either.

Glad that's over with. Forgettable game but job done. Man of the match Mata for his goal and trying to make things happen, credit to big Sergio for his saves too especially the free kick at the end. Hope Pogba isn't out for too long.

We didn't win 10-0.
We didn't play like Barcelona.
I could do a better job on Fifa.
In fact on Fifa i signed x y and Z and got rid of a b and c.

Because of all these things it was not good enough. My toys are firmly out of the pram.

Look tired. too slow except Valencia who looked full of running.
Hope we don't carry on with this formation. Could slightly understand it in that if we didn't concede we would qualify but it left us one short further up the field and the defence had very little to do until the last part of the match.

I will never understand why Jones played left back when Blind went off - could have cost us the match.
Fellaini did well when he came on

This.

So slow in every department, this isn't a team that's coasting to an easy Europa League win. Fecking Rostov nearly took us to extra time.

We were knackered, played without our most creative midfielder for a half, and no pace in the team aside from Mkhi.

Job done, that's all we should care about. Let's hope there's still enough in the tank to get a result against Boro, then recharge for the final sprint.

Really bad tactics from Jose - we could've used an extra man in the middle of the park to make things happen for us.

Missed 1-2 great chances to score in the first half but didn't really create too many openings, which is the usual story for us this season. We just seem to be stuck in first gear when attacking, with our passing and movement being so painfully slow.

For all our dominance in the first half, we just deteriorated in the second. Really terrible performance there and we looked more likely to concede than to score. Glad that Mata was able to score on our first proper counter-attack of the game. Shout out to Romero for the great saves he made in the second half.

In the end, glad we got the job done and wish Pogba a speedy recovery. We really need to up the tempo in our attack if we're gonna have a chance to win this competition.

Far better teams than Rostov are left in it

We've also beaten better teams than Rostov.

Tonight's game has no bearing on how well we will do in the remaining games. We're still favourites. We're still the best team left.

What a load of moany a*ses you lot are. Not the beat performance but we won the game, we dominated but once we lost pogba creativity was missing, mhki had great game, Rostov parked the bus but we we got the goal we needed.

That banana though someone got a clip of Rojo?

Rostov are an absolute shithouse of a team to play against. You can see why they cause upsets and don't concede many goals.

In both ties, including playing at their dog's arsehole of a stadium they were happy to play 11 men behind the ball and hit us against the run of play. Their defenders suddenly turned into brick walls. This, combined us playing an unfamiliar 3-5-2, our poor finishing and Zlatan's relative slowness played into their hands. Not to mention their players were happy to pussy out and Hazard their way to the floor at every sign of contact.

Real shame seeing Pogba off injured.

So that's Ibra, Blind, Martial, Rooney, Pogba, Bastian and Herrera all out next game. We have no chance of scoring at Boro. It's as nailed on 0-0 or 1-0 as you can get.

Felt like an utter waste of time watching that. Was not enjoyable, was glued to my iPad for most of it doing other things.
