Champions League QFs (11th - 19th April)

Bayern need to take off Alonso or Alaba or both. Ribery hasn't been great either. Ronaldo has been shocking, canceling out Alaba.

I'm assuming this is the only time you've ever watched him then. He's been the best LB in the world for several years now, but he's having an absolute shocker tonight.
He's not better than Marcelo. Alaba has been poor in every European game I've seen him in for the past year now, talking club and country.

Useless tactics from Ancelotti. Without Muller and with that retirement home midfield of Alonso/Thiago, Lewandowski has no support in the box to take advantage of the space Alaba creates. Lewandowski is good, but he´s not better than five defenders by himself.

Like watching Pogba, Lingard and Toni V shooting.

Kroos tattoo looks pretty nasty.

Does anyone hear think our squad is good enough for Champions League? I mean Leicester did fairly well and I'd say our squad is one or two levels above them.
Leicester didn't have to play against teams of champions league standard a lot. I don't think they are a good standard to measure yourself up against.

Entertaining match, other than the poor finishing! I hope Bayern get an early one and make it really competitive.

Shame for Leicester in the other game, can't see them getting a sniff now.

Looks like both Madrid sides are going through. Hopefully they meet in the semis. The possibility of another all Madrid final is just boring

Despite his age I would still choose Marcelo as my full back if I was in charge of a club with unlimited funds, leaps and bounds ahead of Alaba based on that half. Madrid win it looks.

Leicester out. Bayern look a shadow of peps side entertainment wise. Have to go for it soon, if they don't score first 20 minutes of 2nd half madrid will be comfortable. Never thought such a skillful player like Zidane would be such a pragmatic manager.

Marcelo the best lest back in the world and Carvajal the best right back in the world imo. They've been fantastic in both legs.

Think Bayern will need to sub out Alonso and just go for it. They don't look a threat to score.

I'm rooting for the red teams tonight.

Not impressed by Atlético lately, but hope they can get to the final at least, and try their luck against Juventus, for instance. A pity Simeone doesn't fancy Gaitán.

Why did Ancelotti drop Guardiola's favorites Coman and Douglas Costa for Ribéry and Robben?

Of course you are. Good enough to compete with all bar the best like all the other top English teams.

I wished Bayern would have finished the first game with 11 men.
This would have been a great game to watch..

Even so they don't played that well.. they were the better team until the red card.

Nah, the match had turned before that. But maybe we could have kept it 1-1. We'd still be losing right now, so it doesn't change much.

Leicester winning the cl was a thing on the caf. Happy to see they fall at the first of the three hurdles. Easy, they're nothing compared to what's left in the competition.

there were signs of madrid turning it around in the second half before the red card.

Thiago is unreal. Probably best midfielder in Europe this year. Those 50-60m balls accurate to a single inch...

It's also quite surprising to see Robben-Ribery still being a first choice players in Bayern, both rather poor this half with Ribery being significantly worse. Unfortunately, can't see Bayern winning this one.

Well, he doesn't play LB for Austria and only recently went back to playing LB for Bayern. Spent most of the last 2 years playing CB or CDM for Bayern and he plays purely as a CM for Austria (where he's generally excellent, but the entire national setup has been a disaster since the summer).

Not saying he's not having an absolute shocker tonight, but his average level of performance is far, far above this. He's been utterly awful, like someone swapped bodies with him.

Good one.

Thiago has been underwhelming IMO. Doesn't do enough.

Alonso and Alaba with a horror show. Hummels (probably not 100% fit) and Ronaldo also crap.

I would bring Kimmich and Müller. If it's going on like that Vidal is getting another yellow sooner than later.

They are alright. It's just the combination of them, Alonso and Lahm that's an issue. There's just too many old players on the field. You can't compensate for all of them.

Thiago is immense and the only reason we're not out of this yet. He is permanently closing the gaps created by Vidal's brainfarts and Alonso being the slowest human being to ever walk on a neatly trimmed field of grass.
