David Moyes | West Ham in talks with him for managerial job

I have never seen a more negative manager. It's quite extraordinary how dour he is.

I shouldn't but feel sorry for him in a way. In hindsight, he should have never left Everton for us but who wouldn't? At Everton, he was the man like how SAF was to us. He left a decade of his work with such a stable and respected career for 8 months of mockery and failure which led to his downhill career ever since. I guess in a way, SAF "ruined" his career. Maybe he is actually a good manager but his time with us has caused him to be so mentally drained that he lost all his confidence. If I were him, I'd take a sabbatical for a year and start all over again at a championship club. He is only 54 so he is still very young.

His attitude stinks.

Nobody can resist united job, but a good manager will learn from their mistake, he got his wake up call at united that he's not up to scratch. Instead of re-learn and rebuilt his paradigm he keeps peddling lies that it's not his fault and he's the dogs bollocks.

Many managers changed their approach along the way, hence they keep on being relevant.

Rafa failed badly at inter and madrid, instead of blaming the situations he took the newcastle job, and respectfully take relegation on the chin. I respect him more than moyes for that and rafa has more in his cv than moyed can ever hope for

Club is 110m in debt yet he wants half a new squad :wenger:
Moyes will be Moyes

Love the last bit where the owner will respond in a couple of weeks, enough time for him to resign they hope after yet more losses and fans to get on his back to quit

Imagine if he'd confirmed he was staying here at the end of the 2013/14 season. This place would have just died.

It's not quite as bad for Sunderland as it would have been for us. I think Moyes will at least get them in the playoffs next season.

How humiliating and humbling next season will be, for a manager whose self-professed level is Champions League football.

They want to hope Strachan leaves the Scotland post so Moyes gets offered the job up there.

Sunderland actually have a few decent players who I can't see staying. Next season, there's just no hope up here now.

I'm sure I speak for all Scotland supporters when I say, "No. Seriously. Not Moyes. Don't even think about it."

It's gonna be funny seeing him doddering around the Championship next season, Sunderland fans must be gutted. I don't think he'll bring them back up.

Don't bet on it. Championship isn't a walk in the park. There's very few club thay manages to get up the next season after they get relegated

He wants to be sacked, no way will his ego allow him to manage in the Championship. He's just looking for the payout.

He won't be getting it so this should be quite fun to watch!

and that after he brought in half of our and Everton's rejects. Unbelievable

''Moyes has already held preliminary discussions with the club’s owner and chief executive Martin Bain following relegation this week and has made it clear that, as things stand, the squad is ill-equipped for life in the second tier.''

So not good enough for the Premier League and not now not good enough for the Championship? What level exactly does he think the team is at?

I don't think getting relegated is a bad thing for Sunderland as it gives them chance to rebuild properly. In the premier league they were making odd signings year on year just for the hope of staying up. By going down it will give them a chance to get rid of the shite on their books and maybe invest in a younger more hungry squad. Equally I think they need stability in their manager, chopping and changing every 5 minutes helps no one as no one can actually build that squad.

I know Moyes is disliked here and I'm not a massive fan but I reckon they may do well sticking by him. In his defence his January signings were mostly panic buys to keep them up and clearly they didn't work. He's got the rest of this season and the whole summer to assess a squad and potential new players.

to think that there are still 2 years left on his original contract with us.

The thread for his press conference:

They absolutely detest him at Sunderland. He's sucked the enthusiasm out of them.

From RTG forum.

Just had a dig at Short

MOYES: "Marco Silva has done a very good job. They brought in 5-6 players in January and if you do that it can make a big difference."

Yes, David. They've also sold two of their best players, you fecking numpty.

On the on hand, i couldn't believe what i was hearing. On the other hand, i wasn't surprised. Have we ever seen a manager fail to the extent he has in recent times yet still have such a loyal following of sycophants in the press?

No but it's hardly surprising, rarely will you see so many articles by various journalists about a particular club with so much inside info than you will about a club currently managed by Moyes.

"We had initial discussions about how we move forward. I wouldn't say it was an uplifting kind of meeting, but we will meet again in a few weeks. Ellis and the board want me to stay."

Always with the positive spin

I wonder what the first thing he'll say at the start of pre-season.

No Davey please don't go. We want you to stay.

I just noticed the thread title reads like a flowchart of unfortunate events. First you're David Moyes, then you become Sunderland manager, then you get a charge from the FA, then you get relegated

'David Moyes' should be at the end of the thread title. Being David Moyes is rock bottom. No greater depths of misery can be reached.

The problem, I feel, has been his mouth. He really has come out with some of the most self destructive, moronic statements anyone in football can make since he was sacked by United. These comments have fuelled dislike and ridicule turning him into a bit of a laughing stock.

Don't agree that Utd broke him, he was coming out with the same negative crap right from the start with us, but I do agree it's his mouth that causes most of the hate towards him, he's just so miserable and negative he sucks the life out of everything, if he was in Resevoir Dogs he'd be Mr Grey.

So wait, let me get this straight. He doesnt think the players he has are equipped for success in the second tier, yet he still signed some of these players in an attempt to stay in the top tier.

The logic is outstanding

Trust Dithering Dave to target Wesley Sneijder immediately after getting relegated and not a moment before.

Sneijder turning up at the Pirelli Stadium to play Burton Albion? Yeah right.

I hope Moyes stays at sunderland just so I can give him a harsh stare from the stands when he brings them to burton.

Sneijder!

The juxtaposition of Moyes plus United tie and silverware looks so strange - like the Barry Chuckle / Jay-Z photo from ringside last week. In olden times, they would have reacted to it like a comet, heralding the end of days.
