Top 4 race 2016/17

Only Chelsea and Spurs deserve top 4 over the season.

United, City, Liverpool and Arsenal have all been extremely poor and inconsistent at times.

It's basically like no one wants it.

Definitely. I feel like us getting it will only happen because others weren't very good, rather than us actually deserving it.
 
We're out of the race now. Don't think the top 4 will change though City and Pool may swap positions. The summer promises to be a very interesting one with a lot of money thrown around. Just hope we buy smart. Griezmann and Silva would be ideal :-)
 
If I was Arsene I'd secretly be wishing to miss out on top 4 so that he can focus fully on the league.

Getting battered by Real or Bayern is no reward.

For sure. It's incredible we can still finish 4th, despite our worst season under Wenger.

The Europa League would be more disruptive to their league campaign, as we have found out ourselves.
 
Won't even feel like an achievement if we make it, half the players need a rocket up their arse. Any well drilled regular quarter finalists will take us apart on their day.

We need serious investment this summer, if we don't get it the owners will face a massive fan backlash.

So'ton were atrocious. Can we make this any more difficult on ourselves l wonder.

Does 6th place gurentee a EL spot, if not then it's one bad performance in the qualifying round and the problem goes away! simple :)

EL is only killing United because they actually want to win it.

Absolutely. In November and December it was shaping up to be a great battle for all the right reasons with the top six winning most weeks - since then its still a battle but for all the wrong reasons, inconsistency, failure to grab opportunities left, right and centre. Whoever makes it will have limped across the line.
 
Arsenal 2-0 up and most likely will claim all 3 points. This means they keep up maximum pressure on Pool and City of course, but my money is still on them to miss out.

But as I said earlier, one of those is going to miss out and it will be disaster for the team who does. Especially Liverpool.
 
Back to our favorite position in 6th :drool: Was getting a nosebleed from the heights in 5th place for so long.

Pool are fecked without CL footy. They struggle enough to attract good players when they do occasionally qualify.
 
Arsenal have Stoke away, Sunderland home and Everton home. They're not guaranteed to win every one of those but they love their late 4th place surges so I won't be surprised.
Liverpool have West Ham away and Middlesbrough home. A draw in either of those would take it out of their hands.

City have Leicester home, West Brom home and Watford away. They're not finishing out of the top 4.
 
It all depends on WHU vs Liver game. Liverpool wins and it's over. Anything other than this it's for Arsenal to steal the 4th place.
 
I'd laugh so much if every top 6 team ends up in the CL apart from Liverpool.

For me, I really don't care who of them reach CL. Just want us to win EL and reach it by any means possible. Arsenal gets or Liverpool, don't really care much as long as we're still not qualified ourselves.
 
I will literally lose a fecking nut if we dont qualify, we're so shit at beating shit teams in 2017. We should have been out of sight by now but no theres now a distinct possiblity that Arsenal who have been average for a while now will have a better season than us.
 
As long as we win the EL, I honestly do not care who gets top 4.

In fact I don't even want to think about it as I'm starting to get worried that we won't win the Europa League and will have to slog it out in this awful competition for another year.

Classic Liverpool feck up incoming, it's been building up for weeks now. Bad performance against Palace, sub par performance against Watford and Stoke, sub par against Southampton.

There's no signs from me that we are capable of winning games at the moment. Those Stoke and Watford wins were lucky AF.

Both United's and Liverpool's seasons rely on just two games. I have a feeling we'll both be slogging it out on Thursday nights next season.
 
Yeah Liverpool have fecked it. West Ham are an absolute bogey team for us - be very surprised if we beat them. Arsenal are going to get fourth.

Ridiculous that Klopp has allowed this to happen. We were second and comfortably in the top four at the end of December.

I've literally accepted our fate.

What's most concerning is that we look utterly toothless right now going forward. Can't see where the next goal is going to come from.
 
If we make it via the Europa League, I'd sooner Arsenal nicked 4th place at the expense of Liverpool. The injustice of the shower that is Arsenal making the CL would be offset by the hilarity of the scousers conspiring to miss out.

Reality is, only Chelsea and Tottenham have shown the quality and consistency to warrant a place in the CL. The rest of us have been mostly sh**e.

I was there for that. I thought it was their day when Konchesky crossed it into the goal. Our record against them recently is horrible.

If Arsenal do make it into the top 4 and we win the Europa league...we will be knocked down into pot 3 for the CL draw. Some of the possibilities :nervous:
