HERRERA, VALENCIA OR IBRA SET FOR AWARD
Ander Herrera, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Antonio Valencia are the leading candidates to win the prestigious Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award at tonight’s prize-giving ceremony.

The poll is currently the closest ever with fewer than 20 votes separating the top two this morning and the third-placed star also within touching distance. Votes can be cast here until 16:00 BST this afternoon, just two-and-a-half hours before the awards dinner at Old Trafford, which means it is going right down to the wire.

Awards ceremony is tonight, only 20 votes separating the top 2 is amazing.

Zlatan
Valencia
Herrera

Frankly would have put Rojo too. Has been excellent all season

If Zlatan doesn't win this, it's a bit of a joke in my opinion.

If you look at the whole season Valencia has performed the most consistently of all three.

Herrera had a few world-class performances, but Tony V has been good if not great in every game he's featured in.

Though I think Zlatan will win anyway, so kind of a moot point.

Gave my vote for Zlatan before. Also if this turned out to be his only season with us then I hope more that he wins it.

How can people say Herrera? It's definitively Ibra or Valencia and Ibra will get it.

Because everything is subjective. I like ibra but think he has missed a lot of chances whilst frankly Valencia just sums up for me how we have lowered our expectations as fans. He runs a lot, is strong and helps us be defensively sound. But his performances would have been standard expectations when we were on top. A top right back would have contributed much more going forward where frankly Valencia is lacking. For a winger turned defender he is shocking. He lacks courage and inspiration. Perhaps I am harsh and slightly irrational but this is after years of watching him free on the right time and time again with the defender there for the taking only to turn back and blunt our attack.

Herrera for me.

Other trophies to be handed out tonight:

  • Jimmy Murphy Youth Team Player of the Year: Angel Gomes / Lee O'Connor / Callum Whelan

  • Denzil Haroun Reserve Team Player of the Year: Axel Tuanzebe / Demetri Mitchell / Josh Harrop

  • Goal of the Year

  • Players' Player of the Year

Herrera has been so average bar a few really good performances.

Herrera. Has become an important member of the squad. Should be ahead of Zlatan and Valencia.

I'm just here for the pictures of the wags.

Zlatan.

Is he even going to be there? He's practically been a ghost since the injury.

No DDG this time then.

Settling in a difficult league and all that - Ibra all the way.

Zlatan. If he'd not missed a few sitters he'd probably be the PFA POY. As it happens, I think he's easily done enough to be our player of the season.

Zlatan. But seriously though, why do we always do this ceremony before the end of the season? Why not wait a week and do it after it finishes?

I'm a huge fan of Zlatan and Herrera but Valencia should win this.

Zlatan missed wayyyyyyy too many chances to be player of the year. Herrera has been very good but just comes behind Valencia for me. Tony was a 7/8 every week.

Tuanzebe seems to be awarded with the Reserve Team POTY award. United's facebook admin f*cked it up.
