Atlético are harmless, and it's good that top players do not leave la liga. I don´t know how much United paid, but I guess the salary difference is several million every yearIt's a sort of an insurance, that no one else will jump in or he won't change his mind. And he stays to help the team until the ban is uplifted.

Also do you really expect a crocked Zlatan to demand £300,000 a week for 6 months of his contract injured? If we get him on a deal like that it will be heavily reduced basic wage and heavily incentivised and I'm sure he'd bite our hand off for it.
Since the Moyes era and the fading away of RVP, it's been clear United have needed a world class striker, possibly two. You could argue Ibra was the ideal option for free last year. But outside of him, United have really pulled back the spending on quality strikers in recent years. It's part of the reason we've stopped scoring goals. We require at least two attackers this summer, even if Ibra stays.
I think he's on loan because the Chinese investors have inherited a company that have much more costs than revenues (2016 profit after tax: - 74 mln)..
So probably they prefer to postpone this payment to not burden the balance

That's clearly not down to the "higher ups" as you call them. That's a Manager decision. You can't blame them for not spending when you consider our purchases and assume they don't want to spend on a striker, that's just daft. Mourinho highlighted how important he feels a striker is by doing all he could to get Zlatan and the "Higher ups" happily funded his exorbitant wages.
How is it daft? I contend United wouldn't have bought Ibra if his transfer fee was 20m plus wages. We've cut down on the squad numbers significantly in recent years. And we should be spending significantly this summer to make up for it.
Milan mean business next season and it's about time. New owners, new management, about 200 million bucks might be spent this summer to buy new players. Juventus has completely dominated the last 6 years. No competition at all. I am a fan of Serie A. Sad to see the league decline over the years. Would be great to see Milan and Inter get back to their A game.
Feck sake looks like Salah's agreed terms with Liverpool, just the fee to sort out. He'll be electric in that team.

Depends how petty Bale is. Since he's been injured so long and Isco's been in great form he would have to be a complete narcissist to actually get angry over that decision. And if he's that angry, is that the type of player we'd want on the team? It's one thing if he was angling for a move prior to this decision and this just pushed him over the edge but if this is the sole reason for him to leave Madrid (after he's been so defensive about his position there the past few years) it just seems unlikely.
Only way I see this happening is if Madrid is deadset on Mbappe and selling Bale will allow them to offer an insane package for him. Of course Bale should only be like 70M at most since he's injury prone and not as young as when they bought him.

I agree, growing up the two great sides I remember were Liverpool (which was painful as a kid) and Milan, reading about them and then seeing them on Channel 4 in the early days the likes of Baresi in the twilight of his career, Maldini, Rossi, Cafu, Weah, Van Basten, Boban, ALbertini, Papin...all the way through to Gattuso, Kaka, Pirlo...they always seemed to have fantastic exciting players and the San Siro looks amazing on tv as well. Sad to see how poor they have been for what must be a decade now.
I don't watch enough of Inter to really comment on Perisic but Salah's definitely quicker and a better finisher. Salah isn't the most technically gifted winger around, still very decent though, he makes up for it with really effective dribbling and excellent runs in behind and that's why he would suit Liverpool so well. He wouldn't get the same kind of space at United but I'd definitely rather sign him than Perisic.

Sorry but I would give De Gea plus 20m for Bale. Call me crazy but we dont NEED a world class keeper as evidenced by Romero what we have to get right now is an injection of real quality in the attack and Bale would do exactly that.
