Straightforward question. Which did you/do you/would you prefer us to sign and why?

Lukaku because he puts that round thing in the net on a more consistent basis than Morata.

Lukaku because he won't bugger off back to Madrid after a few years.

Lukaku because I think he would do really well here and when he does he wont be crying to go back home to Spain.

Lukaku - he's proven in the PL, given our lack of goals would be a risk to gamble on Morata who has never scored the number of goals we need. 150 career goals at 24 is a great record.

Both ideally :D

Based on risk and goal return Lukaku, based on riskier potential to be a better all round player, Morata

Argh! I can't exactly pick. Morata is the better player, but Lukaku is more proven as a goalscorer and in the PL....

Morata has potential to turn into a top striker but is a risk because he's never been the main guy anywhere. Lukaku already is a top striker though his all around game isn't as good as morata's, though it is improving.

Morta is a better player and has far more potential for improvement.

Thought he was a perfect fit and am currently less than thrilled... but if Jose wants the likes of Lukaku and Perisic I suppose we should give him the team he wants :/

Tho I have always viewed Lukaku and was one of the Premier Leagues most overrated players and had very little fears about the idea of him sighing for Chelsea *shrug* hope im wrong

Haven't seen much of Morata so can't say really, but I am very pleased with Lukaku's signing.:D

Morata, I want us to have a technically good #9 that can bring the others into play.

Morata, better all round game, would improve us as an functional attacking unit.
Disappointed.

Both for me. Quality options for Jose upfront and competition for places. Mkhi and Mata are approaching 30 too.

At the end of the season Lukaku was definitely my choice but as he seemed destined for Chelsea and we were in for Morata I convinced myself Morata was the better of the two. I can go back to my original thinking now !

Lukaku is the safer option. Proven in the PL and a better goal scoring record.

Morata is the more technically gifted player with the better all round game, but there's no guarantee he will bag 20+ goals/season.

I like Morata a lot, but I'm happy with geting Lukaku as he's proven & we need a consistent goal scorer.

Morata, but Lukaku will do. I just see Torres in Morata and think he'd thrive here.

Morata. Lukaku's strength is running on to balls that have been played in ahead of him, whether centres from wide or through balls from deep. But our biggest problem by a mile is opening up teams at Old Trafford that are sitting 10 men in the box, where Lukaku just won't get chances like that. We need a player with good close control and decent link up play that can unpick defences. Morata is easily better by that measure.

Lukaku, cause he can be really useful when playing on the right as a left footed cut-inside forward. Played a lot of times in that position last season, something like "false RW". Fast, strong, great in counter attacks. Similar to what Ronaldo plays in Real on the left.

I'll say one thing, Lukaku is the more conservative buy, in terms of the expectation to play free flowing football. Mourinho just went for the lesser risk.

Lukaku has the higher floor, Morata has the higher ceiling.

Realistically, Morata could have come to United, adjusted poorly to the league and the burdens of being main striker, and ruined your season next year. Lukaku won't do that, he'll bang in goals and do a job as a physical box striker who also offers pace on the counter. But he won't ever be a top top player, the best attacker on a club that wins leagues and competes for the CL. You'll need to find your talisman elsewhere, maybe Rashford or Martial developing or maybe signing somebody like Griezmann next summer.

Lukaku. Has shown he can do the business in this league. Not having to deal (and almost always taken advanatge of) with Madrid is a big plus.

Morata - the more complete footballer, and I believe the one who would link up best with the type of attackers we have.

Good point. That would make even more sense with our usual extreme-forward on the other wing.

Lukaku all along between these two. He's a no brainer signing when compared to Morata.

They both have a lot in common. Although people here seem to believe that Morata is a better technical player, whenever I watch him I never see anything special about his technique. So I base my judgment on what I've seen. Lukaku's goal scoring record is far better in an inferior team. He's consistently scored goals. We already know that he can cut it in the premier league, hence a safer option. I also cannot stand Madrid and in no way do I want to pay them near world record fee for their bench player.

Both!

Prefer Morata as a player but acknowledge he's a bigger risk and Madrid, once again, have handled this terribly.

Happy with Lukaku. He gets us goals and is league proven. Stick a Greizmann behind him next year and another exciting winger and we are looking seriously formidable again. Just need to get the midfield sorted this summer now I think.

Lukaku all the way. Especially when it comes down to money. I would never pay the reported 80 mill (+ 10 bonus?) for Morata because he just isn't that special. Lukaku is the better player right now and also has a better potential. Easy choice if you ask me.

Either would have been great for us.

The abuse both strikers got on this forum is embarrassing to read.

Morata for me but it's cool to give RM the middle finger and both players behave pros and cons and I would be happy enough with Lukaku.

Yea I feel like is being missed. Thought Morata was going to be a great fit with the players we would be surrounding him with.

Both, but if i had to decide 51% Lukaku and 49% Morata. That 1% less because Perez the cnut.
