Not one tweet on this page.
The quiet before the storm. Somethign BIG is coming. Not one tweet on this page.
Far too much importance given to squad numbers. In hindsight we were far too quick to give him 11 and Depay 7.
Lol not bieng funny but the big difference is talent not who they were managed by. Giggs was electric when he first come on the scene. Januzaj had 2 good performances and that's it. Giggs would of been great whoever he was managed by.
French sources report that City offered higher wages when they realised he was going to Paris. Unlike City at the start of their "project", PSG never offered silly wages and always paid market value. Anyway your prejudice seems too strong to have a meaningful conversation, let's get back to tweets.Repeated reports in media of the wages PSG offered (More than double City) along with PSG's history of using money to get what they want - care to name any aspiring footballers that have been enticed to PSG's project for sporting reasons?
Seriously? The guy might have fecked up his career due to his mentality, but 2 good performances? He had/has all the talent to be a world beater...what could have been with the right attitude..
My worry is even after spending all of that, the team still looks short of that extra quality. We lack enough of those players that have the X factor to the business imo. We could do with a Sanchez, Hazard, Coutinho, Silva kind of player, something that all of our rivals have and we don't. Workmanlike doesn't unlock stubborn defences, real quality doesSpending 200 million on Perisic, Dier, Lindelof and Lukaku is not money well spent imo. While I do like Lukaku from that lot, for 200 million you better be getting more technical class than that lot offers.
I hope Jose signs a few more skillful players this summer.
He would be a great signing for them. Hope it does not happen.
Pogba is real quality and will get better. My worry is even after spending all of that, the team still looks short of that extra quality. We have those players though. Martial /Mata and Mkhi aren't workmanlike with Herrera and Pogba to back them up.My worry is even after spending all of that, the team still looks short of that extra quality. “I don’t think (that he will leave). There are ongoing discussions that make me think he will be at Monaco nest season. The discussions relate to a possible wage hike. But I think that he has understand, his father too, that it is not yet in his interest to go to a huge club, where he is not assured playing time. Even if Zidane has said that he would receive playing time at Real Madrid.”
When asked specifically about selling Mbappé to PSG, the Prince was definitive:
“No. It is my opinion and I think that it is also that of Vadim Vasilyev.”
There is no doubting Pogba's quality, but he is not the type of player I had earlier described.Pogba is real quality and will get better.
I think football fans tend to bit obsessed with signings to solve all their team problems.
The team that has done consistently best over the last few seasons has been Spurs who have seen consistent improvements in their playing squad with each season. Our players will have a year of playing together, a year of acclimatizing to the league.
Jose's teams tend to improve in his second season for that very reason.
Well if you think that Mata and Micky fit into the category of players I described with the X factor, fine. And if you think that the manager is going to play to their strengths, then I really admire your optimism. We have those players though. Martial /Mata and Mkhi aren't workmanlike with Herrera and Pogba to back them up.
Griezmann is that big name and he's delayed for 12 months but Jose can't seem to win in terms of that transfer.
If we buy a player not as good in his position he gets accused of not thinking long term, if he builds a team with one eye on what it looks like in 12/18 months he gets shit on for not plugging every hole in the squad in one summer.
To buy the top notch magic player we would have to spend a lot more than £200m. If we had bought Griezmann you can add another £90m to that and we would still have bought the others players as well. Players with a bit of sparkle are nice, but they are also the ones with the biggest risk of flopping. The hard workers are usually the ones who settle the most. There is no doubting Pogba's quality, but he is not the type of player I had earlier described.
With the money we have spent so far under Jose, there shouldn't be anymore excuses. I expect the team to do better in that regard, whether the personnel will be enough to challenge as José said a few weeks back is the question.

Surely, if we are going to spend another £200m, we can consider bringing a player that has some magic.
That's a very fair point. But would you not think it better if we say, invested the £50m for Perisic plus maybe a few more bob for Sanchez? Surely, £60m will force him out of Arsenal and we will get a proven PL player. If we want to push for the title we need to really to invest in real qualityTo buy the top notch magic player we would have to spend a lot more than £200m.
