Sanchez doesn't start over Ronnie.

Aguero doesn't provide the same selfless play that Benzema does.

Kane again too selfish.

Continuous isn't better than Isco.

Valencia isn't as good as Carvajal

Alderweireld may have a chance but not Vertonghen.

Zidane's built a system out of the players at his disposal. It stands to reason that alternative players, with different skillsets, won't displace the originals in that same system. But that doesn't mean that they aren't of equivalent or superior quality.

He had a good end of the season but has been very disappointing the rest of the time.
As he said in Madrid there are a lot of pressure and probably he wouldn't be pointed all the time somewhere else.
Anyway 30m€ is a great price

Basically. I don't consider Kante a holding player. He's more like a box-to-box CM.

A top manager could come up with a new system that utilises a box-to-box CM rather than a holding player. And it would be just as good as the current Real Madrid.

Kante offers as much as any other midfielder around, just not necessarily in exactly the same areas.

You could come up with a similar argument for others on the list. For example, Kane's too good to discount simply because he doesn't work as hard as Benzema. He makes up for it in other areas.

I don't see why you'd tinker with the side when they're as dominant as they are.

Personally, I'm not that high on Kante anyways.

Kante over casemiro. Kane over benzema. Valencia has all the tools to be called one of the best rb in the world. Sanchez can start over bale , wont be a bad choice.

I love Valencia, but he's a good level behind Carvajal, who along with being at least as good defensively, is way more effective going forward.

They think we tried to lowball them knowing they were in a spot with respect to FFP. They needed 30 million to satisfy FFP and that's what we offered
 
Yep.. Never understood the feck Inter, feck Perez and feck Madrid comments. Inter and Madrid arent a charity. They'll want to get the most they can for their player. We either successfully negotiate down, pay the asking price or dont get the player.. Getting mad at the selling club for not selling cheap makes no sense.

Inter are interested in Martial, have been in contact with the player's entourage and received encouragement: seems the player would be ok with the move. United however have refused to consider the possibility of letting the player go on loan, so far

United still want perisic, but inter refused an offer of €45+5M. However things might change should United decide to include Martial's loan in the deal


Basically, he's saying that while united wants perisic, inter wants martial. Inter isn't asking for martial's loan as part of the fee for perisic, they're just asking for Martial

Real Madrid bought Casemiro back after selling him to Porto in a weird deal. It's clear Casemiro is pivot in Zidane's plan to balance Real midfield. Perez respects Zidane enough to let him ulitize Casemiro. With other coaches, Perez would force them to fit in a more sexy player. Tweaking a system for Kante? No fecking chance under Perez.

If that's true, then I would be quite disappointed in Martial's attitude. He should be focused on making it at United than look for an escape route. But having said that, its probably bullshit as Martial has been quick to publically crush rumours of him wanting away. But IF he were to be sold/sent on loan, we would urgently need a superstar attacker (besides Perisic) to fill the gap as we already are quite thin in the attacking department.

There's not much difference (in style of play) between Martial and Rashford anyway, both are right-footed, fast dribblers that cut inside. Both are in essence forwards/strikers. Perisic is the one that can offer something different; natural width and left foot crossing ability.

So that's not the reason Martial is not going. It's simply because he's a very valuable and talented youngster who has a future here. Loaning him out will signal otherwise. So it's not gonna happen.

For Jose, it is pretty straightforward really. If Martial desperately wants to go (regardless of what he says in public), Jose will let him go. Only thing is that it will likely just be a loan move initially and it will be after securing a solid replacement.

I can't remember Jose ever stopping a player who wanted out from leaving. Lukaku, De Bruyn, SaIah, Cech, Mata, Hazard Jnr, Lampard. They all wanted to leave and he let them.

One cannot be absolutely sure but the indications point to Jose preferring Rashford and Lingard to Martial. One also gets the sense that Jose might like Pereira. It's all about attitude and dedication to him rather than raw talent. I wouldn't rule out Martial going out on loan especially if he has requested to.

So the real question for me is: does Martial want to stay or does he prefer to go even if temporarily?

Guess i'll try this since people keep reading something and understanding something else

PLAYER IS OK WITH THE POTENTIAL MOVE = player would not oppose it. It means that if united and inter agree a deal for him, he's not gonna throw a strop and refuse the move

WHAT THIS DOES NOT MEAN = player wants to move

Benzema is obviously way too under rated. That is understandable though considering his striking partner is Cristiano Ronaldo.

Apart from being a world class player himself, Benzema makes Ronaldo click in that Madrid team. It will be hard to pull him out for any Harry Kane.

I guess its you understanding something else than what's written. Players can refuse or actively discourage a move and that's what I imagine Martial should do at this stage of his career rather than looking at a clear downgrade into Inter. He has the potential for being a top player and only needs to work hard towards it. And especially I am sure United would not want to move him unless Martial himself "encourages" Inter.

His cousin tweeted which is posted in Martial thread " I confirm Inter's interest in Antho. But his head is in Manchester and he is focused to make a good preparation"(translated). I will believe this more

I really wouldn't mind if PSG gives us Verratti for Martial provided Martial actually wants out (frankly, I don't doubt this. I suspect he does). I know they don't play the same role but signing Verratti will take us to a whole new level. We will of course need to find another good forward which, admittedly, can be difficult.

Having said that, I do like Martial and think he can have a superb future of he dedicates himself to his craft.
 
Martial is way more talented than Perisic and he's already proven that in onr of the best leagues in the world. He had a bad season last year which is noting special for a player that young, feeling a whole new level of pressure (from himself and others) + a new coach.

We would be stupid if we allowed/pushed him to leave. I have high hopes for him this season and I think he's accepted the challenge to prove himself under Jose.

Why should he? If united decide to flog him off, why should he turn down inter? It's not like he'd be going to China. Inter's a big club with rich owners and big ambitions.

He has the potential for being a top player and only needs to work hard towards it. And especially I am sure United would not want to move him unless Martial himself "encourages" Inter.
