Bayern Munich has almost reached an agreement with Premier League club Swansea City for the loan of Renato Sanches. The deal is on its way to being closed. It will be an initial loan of 5 million plus a right to purchase of 30 million. The future of the young Portuguese star is in the Premier League.

This is from Di Marzio's website. It's hundred percent a failed transfer from Bayern. If we had loaned out Shaw to some midtable English team in the second year with an option to purchase then nobody would've argued otherwise. People here like to pretend that Bayern doesn't do anything wrong.

If he's a success then he'll have bigger offers than Swansea. If he's a flop then Swansea won't be parting with 30million.

The option to buy is staggering actually. Can't believe that, because at that price, if he does well, there's no way Swansea wouldn't pay that.

Hardly failed if they are basically getting their money back, chances are with clauses etc.
Big clubs buy to improve their team and not to sell at loss. We only lost 15m on Di Maria but he was a very bad signing for us.
Yup, and unlike Sanches he still had quite an impact, iirc he had the highest number of assists for us that season.
But who cares about Bayern and their potential flop? Plenty of posters weren't sold on Sanches and while Bayern are well run, I don't think anyone believes that they are unfallible. You are working yourself for very little.
They won't make a loss! In fact they will probably make a profit at the quoted figures, albeit a small one.
Be very surprising if the renato sanches loan deal doesn't include a buy-back option for bayern

Absolutely incredible deal by Swansea. Even to get Sanches on loan would be a fantastic deal but to get him on loan with an option to buy is mindblowing

Sanchez at £60m is just something you go for if it's got any potential, just because of how rare players of his level are available at that price, from your rivals.

Martial had a fantastic first season and contributed much to our performance. He had a difficult season last year, however, still managed to get minutes.
Complete different to the Sanches situation as he only joined last year and hardly got minutes from Ancelotti + when he did it was fairly obvious that he wasn't ready for Bayern yet. So they loan him to give him minutes & hopefully confidence to bounce back next summer as they did in the past.
If we would have loaned Memphis you could compare the situations, however, not with Martial!

My point was they'd spent far more than that ALREADY and they're buying Sanchez for a reported 60m AND they were already ahead of United in terms of their squad. City have outspent United in 9 out of the past 10 transfer windows.

The problem there isn't financial constraints. Back in June, with Morata escalating, Lukaku Chelsea-bound, no Neymar saga or mentalists offering 100M+ for Dembele and Coutinho, Perisic's fee looked steep.
Woody tried to turn the screws on Inter with FFP and has ended up with egg all over his face. Now you have an ego and bad blood problem, not a financial restraint one. Bad execution and it's too late now for Inter to even contemplate it.

Look at their young attacking players. They still rely heavily on Robben, Ribery, Muller and Lewandowski with no young world class potential/talent in sight. And everybody knows their history with direct imports from South America is a bloody mess. That doesn´t mean they are not a well run club. You can afford to burn money with Breno, when you get Boateng for virtually nothing.
