It has to be said Sweden is lucky they don´t play in South America. Two out of five from France, Netherlands, Italy, Sweden and Bulgaria is a typical very soft European draw. Imagine if you had to defeat Bolivia, Peru, Venezuela and Ecuador over 20 legs. :lol:

While it seems strange for Italy not to be there and I've always watched and admired the way the play and dig in, I'm sorry but this lot of players won't be that missed.

Also this is quite emblematic of Italy's leagues in recent years.
 
delighted, not because of Sweden, but because I've never liked Italy and their boring football. congratulations to all swedish fans here :)
 
Had to laugh at the player who took the corner at the end for Italy only for it to be met first with a Swedish header, he kissed and blessed the ball at least 3 times before putting it on the spot. :lol:
 
Amazing for Sweden - congratulations to them.

Have to say though, as a neutral, when the world cup comes around I know who I would prefer to watch play. Bit like one of the top seeds at Wimbledon getting knocked out early on by an underdog - great at the time, until you realise you'll have to watch them again instead.

*edit - Unless Zlatan comes out of retirement of course.

Sad for Buffon, but Chiellini deserves this so much. He should have been send off like three times in this match.
 
Was that Jorginho's international debut? What a way to get locked into an international team.
 
Italy couldn't score in 180 minutes against the mighty Lindelöf. :D
 
Poor Buffon... his tears are the only ones that don't taste a little sweet.

Meh, Italy have been pretty poor in the last couple of tournaments.
 
Amazing! World cup here we come! Much better second half as well! Defended better and had a few counter attacks! Deserved to win over 2 legs!
