THIS

Why the feck was Smalling still on the pitch and still marking players?

Ridiculous game
He should have stayed off for last few mins. Or just stick him on half way line. Schoolboy errors in game, 1st goal is what ou see in under 14s on a park pitch. Top 4 only or a cup who knows. Jose knows league is over can see him making a few more changes on Tuesday...

Why don't we take the ball to a corner for like 30 sec? This gets ridiculous more we watch it.

Jose should never have had to make those decisions. The gilt-edged chances Martial, Lingard and Rashford missed tonight was the reason we threw the game. The manager cannot be held accountable for those misses.
No he shouldn't. We should have wrapped the game up but once we missed those chances we had to manage the end of the game better. Just because we miss chances it doesn't mean we should say well sod it we'll let them equalise and blame it in the attackers.

I'm thinking with all do respect to Mourinho
If Sir Alex was the manager would we have missed those kinds of chances ?! ... of course I know we used to miss easy chances back then but what I meant is this
If Sir Alex was the manager in the same situation we are second with 11 points gap , against team with good qualities and away match ... would a young players like Rashford , Martial or Lingard have missed chances that way ?! Trying to dribble the goalkeeper in 2 on 1 situation or trying to send the ball to the top corner of the goal instead of finishing the ball the easy way to kill the match ?!
I think some players need to grow up and I think Mourinho needs to be firm dealing with some players

Imagine if that goal didn't enter, or we finished one more chance. It would have been a peaceful night and everything would have been fine.

FFS. I still can't get over it.
I'm afraid it will keep hunting me till our next game. Really unbelievable act by some of our players it makes you wonder what's going on in their heads? They are scared, lost or what? Against 10 men My God I better shut up.

Mourinho
Shouldn't have taken Mata off. He's one of the only players that can pass, score and keep the ball.

Attackers shouldn't miss the target the way they all did today.

Defenders shouldn't be pussies.

Ermmm. That’s not his bloody job!!

Literally unbelievable. As an attacking player you lay on 3 sitters for your team mates, they fluff their lines, and it's your fault because gifting your team mates a goal on a plate isn't your job in the first place.

To be fair, for all the talk of not taking our chances, two goals should have been enough to win that game.

First goal is just lazy defending and yet again poor decision making. Unacceptable really. Against the run of play.

We keep flying forward, look dangerous but can't add to it. Martial, Rashford and Lingard waste laughable missed chances. Uncoachable, uncontrollable. Again, unacceptable.

A centre half is limping about for nearly 10 minutes and no-one steps in, they all look at each other and do nothing. International footballers literally unable to make decisions on their own. Long ball comes in and as you'd expect, Smalling can't adjust and they score last kick of the game.

Decision making on the pitch is and will continue to cost us. If you only take two of your four hundred chances at one end and give two goals away at the other, you don't win. If you take away the goals, some of the possession we conceded high up the pitch was really, really soft. Didn't maintain enough pressure for long enough.

I thought our transitions were solid again and we continuously get into good positions. Frustrating game.

How the mighty have fallen.. the new Arsenal. I shudder like Roy Keano at how standards have dropped.

As United fans we should rightfully demand more. Not accept mediocrity of becoming a top 4 also-ran club.. nothing to get excited about each season apart from having one of the European "big boys" at Old Trafford or a cup run..

We would literally have to have a perfect record to be ahead of City right now.

His instructions should be stay in the box. That’s it, stay in the box. Yes mainly because he’s one of the few players that can strike a ball but that’s where he should be. That’s if we’re going to continue with the lump in the box tactics.

I said it in a different thread, but we lack a true United captain. Today we had zero game management.

Allowing so much pressure is the opposite of what should happen. We should be pressuring them for the last 10 min. Ridiculous outcome today. Should have won 4-1

Matic's decision not to pass to Mkhi in acres of space is baffling.

Isn’t it just. I really like Matic, great player, exactly what we needed.

But I’ve noticed he does seem to have a couple of these moments each game where he makes the complete wrong decision with the ball. Either passing it the wrong way or holding onto it for far too long.

I get what you're saying, the buck stops with the manager, he makes the decisions that ultimately decide the game. You're right of course, but at the same time the players themselves have to take responsibility when they miss chances that even I would put away (and that's really saying something!).

In my opinion, as humble as it is, this loss is on the strikers who missed those chances.

So now you have a problem with his instructions... Surely that's then Mourinho's fault?

Even ignoring the stupid idea that a striker should never leave the oppositions penalty box..

Lets say his team mates finish the 3 sitters he created today, we win 5-1 with 3 assists to his name, would you be coming on here posting we need to "get shut of Lukaku"?

Carry on with the agenda posting.

Unfeckingbelievable. Amateurs I play with could have done better.

Yeah replace him with Rojo or Shaw and that might have been a defensive measure.
He was defending against 10 man anyway so why bother. He is putting on a player he has been freezing out for 10 games and who cant defend for his life.. What was he working at? Putting on a fullback might actually have helped both the attack and the defense.. Not that I give a shit anymore, this Utd team isnt worth bothering yourself over..

It worries me what Jose said after the game that a player didn't follow the instructions, a start for that conspiracy theory which happened to him as some assume at Chelsea? Is it the beginning of the end? And why some of our players didn't follow his instructions ffs? They have to be reported to the management to the board and we should never see them again! We have some big issues it seems more than it looks.

Actually felt bar obvious mistakes for the most part especially the first half we played pretty well today and were sustaining attacks.
Lukaku was excellent and Mata was also great even if he hadn’t bagged a brace.
Sloppy finishing from Martial, Lingard and Rashford (he was shocking)

Teach me how to not bother!

Stevie ME was 45 seconds which is still the record. Or am I missing something.

I'm so down at this moment in time, did not even feel this way after derby..

On Mata - you're absolutely spot on, it's a common reoccurrence that after taking him off we completely give up possession and it comes back to bite us...It's definitely not the first time we go on to drop points from winning positions after taking of Mata.

A total lack of leadership, including by Smalling himself, when Smalling got injured. Having Smalling marking man mountain Maguire whilst injured is a disgrace.

That last 10 minutes was pathetic, no composure at all!

Why on earth are we camped in our own box and then every time the ball breaks to us we cheaply give it away. We had an extra man ffs

Just play keep ball and see out the game.

He could be referring to Herrera

I agree that Shaw should have been the call.

My gut tells me we’re still 2 or 3 windows away from repairing the damage done by moyes and LVG. These types of results can be traced back to their shit reigns
