Fair play to Mourinho. Saw the problem, handled it.

Good team selection. Nobody put a foot wrong.
Jones was great, Shaw was fantastic in defense and he had the most work in defense as well.

Pogba - Matić - Hererra midfield works.

And the front three pick them selves. Martial as a great player, Mata with his attitude and work rate, and Jesse with the form he's in.

Now just work that formation to the ground, keep practicing and keep working.

And find a new right back, and a upgrade on Hererra. Or, if he can pick his last season form. He has to play to pick up form, just like Shaw.

May it continue.

Shit team. Shit players. Shit manager. Useless tactics. Get rid of them all immediately. Winning 2-0 at Goodison is never good enough and City would have scored 5.

Am I doing it right?

Vital 3 points and a vital performance, looked so much mroe inventive and energtic today. for your New Years Revolution please feck 4-2-3-1 off.

Good game (especially 2nd half) and a comprehensive away win. More of this would be great :)

Massive win.

Exactly the level of urgency that we needed the previous games. Makes you wonder does we need to put yourself under massive pressure to start playing or what ?

If either of todays Martial or Lingard goals had been scored by De Bruyne, our illustrious, highly respected, informative, unbiased tabloid press would have been dribbling in their cornflakes

Mourinho on Scholes' criticism of Pogba: 'The only thing Paul Scholes does is to criticise... It's not Paul's fault that he made much more money than Paul Scholes.' #mufc

I don't even mind these comments. Maybe he should keep his mouth shut but if you're legally obliged to go on TV to be asked questions intended to generate a newsworthy response why not give a little bit back after a good win?

Those are 2 are utterly dire and it amazes me how some MUFC fans were so desperate for us to keep them.
At least Rooney was pinging Hollywood balls to the right flank. Morgan S was doing nothing.
Anyway, Rooney and Morgan S are not our problem anymore.

I thought Rooney was the best player on the pitch in the first half. I've never rated Schneiderlin though. I wasn't happy when we signed him. Very happy when we sold him. Now if we can just do something about Herrara...

Great return to form, just in the nick of time with us looking over our shoulders with talk of even not making top 4!
Now we can see what Arsenal and Tottenham do over the next 3 days.

He's entitled to after sucking up so much negative sh!t over the last couple of weeks.

That's my take on it. I'm not hugely bothered either way but leaning towards being happy he's telling his detractors to pipe down.

Post match Comments made by Jose (rephrased)
  • Praised Lingard that he is making jump from potential to a good player, probably a nudge to shaw and Rashford
  • On transfers-“Honestly I don’t know. Do we improve our team now or wait until the summer? It is something I cannot say".
  • On criticism of Paul Pogba By Paul scholes - Scholes can only criticize, not Pogba's fault scholes was never on money pogba is making. "If Paul (Scholes) wants to be a manager I hope he is 25% as successful as me. 25% of 25 trophies is six, which is phenomenal".
  • On Criticism from certain pundits- "I think they would love to be here, in the club, and that's a problem that I cannot resolve."
  • On Lukaku - He is ok, may play against Derby but keeping him out was precaution.
  • Mourinho: 'The kings of the rock 'n' roll that said I wasn't performing last month will now say I'm performing.'

I think Henry is a secret United fan.

Not the first time this has been said. Could be something in it.

He could also be a objective football pundit who doesn't allow silly things like ABUism to cloud his judgement. I'm looking at you Mr Souness (among a great many others)

I suppose Jose has to protect his players. Fair play. However, a bit over the top comments on Scholes. Never mind, he just needs to concentrate on getting us to continue improving. That's all everyone wants.

Oh that's rude. He was waiting for a win to go out and shot every one with his words?

The slump over Christmas still worries me, but that was pretty good.

Six from 12 doesn't look to bad without hindsight, and a week off to recover. Good stuff.
Should've beaten Leicester & Burnley so that's annoying. Soton game was utter crap though.

Who is he referring to here? Which pundits want to work at United?

He's kind of right about Scholes though, he does have a reputation for being stubbornly negative.
Not sure you can criticise a 1 club man who didn't even have an agent for the second half of his career as being jealous of a pay packet.

True though isn't it.
Any chump can sit in a studio and say it's all wrong. But how many have the guys and ability to put it on the line and be a manager. And then a successful one?

Yeah you can't imagine Scholesy would have been too bothered at squeezing the max wage out.
I remember watching a clip of him on a United video at about 19 saying he'd "wait as long as it took (to make it) here"

The bit about some of our former players wanting jobs at the club does ring true to me, there’s bitterness from them that they’re not involved, stems from Giggs getting his marching orders I think.

Hmm tbh I didn't like his comments about Scholes much. Could have been said in much nicer way, and no need to start a war with one of the clubs legends. Scholes was stupid in his criticism of Pogba though, tbh as well.

I disagree.
The later half of the first half was edge of the seat stuff. Both teams were attacking and it was probably the best match I've seen in a long time.

If people did not enjoy that match, I honestly believe that football is perhaps not the sport for them.
Agreed, i thought we were good 1st half too, completely dominated, maybe because Everton were rubbish but just maybe because we didn't lose the ball the way we do when hoofing it up to eyeore! Much more fluid without Lukaku, sadly i fear he'll be back as a starter once available

1st half, filth. 2nd half, huge improvement. Massive 3pts, two excellent goals and Pogba finally grabs a game by the scruff and does the business. Very happy.

Giggs, for one.
Oh right I see.

I guess Jose's not happy with them. In any case, he needs to put that aside and just concentrate on what he and the team needs. We don't need a public slanging match between him and CO92. Just needs to let them talk while he does the best job for him and us.

That's Jose's standard line. Anyone who criticizes Pogba is doing so because they are jealous of the money he is making.. :rolleyes:He is an idiot.

I wouldn't say Scholes was stupid, but he's not the best communicator.
I do understand Jose's frustration with having comments made by our ex players - it even upsets me at times. However, he needs to hide any annoyance he has as it won't help the situation.

I'll throw in a negative - how do we integrate Lukaku into that style of play?

there's were a few signs at Leicester it might be possible, but doesn't look completely straightforward

I'd look at getting another top top MF man in, & eventually the centre defence needs some serious attention too

but that was much better, :) - to watch if nothing else, :D

Well I agree with what you are saying but saying these out loud will not make them quiet too. That's their job and because they just don't agree with you then you go out and say this. I found it a bit over reaction from Jose.

I can't blame the ex-players much. They'll always be asked about the club and always will have to say their opinion. As pundits they can't just support the club in the media.

But Scholes coming out and saying where is Pogba of Juve and all that was stupid punditry.

I think Jose, however, should have just said that Scholes is free to comment as he likes and he has no comment on him. Would close this point nicely and without much problems. He went OTT in his comments.
