I can't believe how shambolic this is from the American police again. This is just about the worse thing I've seen in a long long line of equally stupid things. Can't they be trusted to risk assess a situation before getting their fecking guns out. Someone has lost their life yet again because the police just can't show one ounce of self restraint or professionalism. Yes, the guy who called it in is stupid and should go to jail for a long time - but people are stupid and it's the polices job to account for that.

Erica Garner, daughter of Eric “I can’t breathe” Garner, who was choked on the sidewalk passed away today.
She had a heart attack, at the age of 27 and was considered brain dead before her body gave up.
Stress on her heart relating to he trauma she and her family have had to endure, while fighting for justice.
The guy who killed her father is still employed, the NYPD are still refusing to release their police records on him, and are still fighting the family in court.
When we talk of broken communication between the police and the community they are employed to serve, these are the implications.
Statistics don’t tell the whole story, and those who are killed at the hands of the police aren’t the only victims.
The whole system is broken, from the top down.

Sad and proper fecked up. Deflection, excuses, and more feckery.... There seems to be no real impetus to do anything about it... Not on any large scale.
I've seen this thrown about a lot. That she died of a "broken heart". Haven't seen anyone mention her weight or lifestyle. Did she smoke? drink? etc.
She wasn’t skinny, but she wasnt breaking the scales either she looked around 200lbs I’d imagine that’s slightly higher than average in America.
No mention of smoking, but even then she was 27 and just gave birth a few months prior, therefore most likely breastfeeding, which you’d imagine that means she wouldn’t be smoking.
But that’s a lot of hypotheticals, lots of people are able to operate normal, active lives even when they’re heavier than the average person.
Also, the “broken heart” is a very real condition, it’s called cardiomyopathy and is common in response to incidents which cause severe stress such as grief and stress.
200 pounds and how tall was she? Seems like she was obese is my point which is a higher risk factor for cardiac arrest than loss of a parent. I know what cardiomyopathy is and stress cardiomyopathy ( I'm a medical doctor). I don't wanna come across as shitting on the dead but personally I don't like the seemingly direct link people are making between what happened to her dad and what happened to her.
Seriously? When you lose some one that close the aftermath and the long term aren't a walk in the park regardless of your general health, BMI, blood pressure and whatever else you want to look at.

My mother is comfortably 300lbs of mostly fat, and equally comfortably fitter than the average person, and doesn't have any health risks at all - and she's married to a doctor who weighs less than she does but has had more health problems than she has.

More info from the above story I posted, in which five deputies were shot, and two civilians. One of the deputies was killed.

One of the teams lost. Apparently, it was an in-fight between the losing team as they didn't know each other (as can happen in these games) and one of them threatened to 'SWAT' the other. The other kid dared him to do it so he went and called on SWAuTistic, a known swatter who also had the COD event at Dallas evacuated a few weeks ago for calling in bomb threats. The kid that dared the other two swat him gave a fake address which then other kid then gave thw swatter. That's the jist of it.

So when did he take this picture of this officer? His story starts out saying the first time he saw the officer he already had his gun drawn. So after the whole scene calms down and he's been placed in handcuffs, and most likely removed from the store, they go back in and talk about conditioner and he snaps a quick picture while he's hanging out? Makes sense.

Not surprised. It seems to me the police culture of NYPD is very much stuck in the 70-80s. We had 1 or 2 former nypd at our dept. They were very "old school" to put it simply. Or maybe new yorkers are just impatient, angry assholes in general compared to us nice, laid-back, sunshine loving Californians.

I've been arrested once, in Queens. The NYPD officers were nice and cordial, cracking jokes and all. Irish and Italian, so that classic cop demeanor stood out. Wish they didn't lie about the amount of time I would spend in Central Booking (the entire weekend as opposed to 20 mins
