Chelsea 2017/18 thread - FA Cup Champs, League chumps

Considering Matic was declared the second coming of christ after a debut at home to West Ham, i don't think it's atall unreasonable to make an assessment on Danny after 14 appearances.

It's United fans and the media that can't seem to shut up about Matic and bring him up everytime we drop points making out he was incredible for us (last season), stop doing that and we will stop reminding you how average he was for two season's.

No, it wasn't. He was allright during the 13 game winning run but other than that was average and when the discussion turned to areas we needed to upgrade over the summer, Matic's position was universally agreed as the first port off call.

We don't despise him we pity him, he was considered as big a legend as Zola, Drogba, Osgood, Lamps, JT, Cech at the club, possibly bigger, he still had that status after his initial appointment at United (just like Cech still has it despite playing for Arsenal) he, and only he, ruined it by his disrespectful actions towards the club. Conte has outclassed him and done better with not only the base of the same Chelsea squad but better than what he's doing at United, Pep and Klopp are tactically leaving him behind at his teams two biggest rivals and to add even further insult, Wenger's started working him out. Basically all his worst nightmares are playing out, being tactically outclassed by Pep (again), a Chelsea manager and losing his hold over Wenger, all at the same time AND while he was suppose to be naturally following in the footsteps of the greatest manager ever at what is apparently his dream job, ouch!!!!!

Jose (and the media) thought he was going to dominate, have Pep at arms length with Conte, Wenger and Klopp well out of his way quietly battling for top 4 and the ironic thing is, he'd probably still be loved down at SW6 if that's actually how it panned out.

So after all your outrage about Conte's dementia comments, you are now using the term 'rentie' to have a pop? Interesting. Seems the only person having 'mini meltdowns' is you.

All other fans, even Spurs supporters, seem to be happy to accept Conte's come in and done and a fantastic job, but United fans just seem to want to play him down at any opportunity.

This is completely, wonderfully insane. Great stuff.

Regarding the comparisons between Matic and Bakayoko, I would swap them in a heartbeat. No midfielder I have watched this season has been in worse form than Bakayoko. He was obviously an Emenalo signing bought solely on a flavour-of-the-month basis. I watched some of the Monaco matches last season and he displayed inept levels of technical skill. Goes to show the level of incompetence displayed by the Chelsea board in buying frauds like Bakayoko.

Chelsea has been doing rather strange things lately. If bringing in Bakayoko was more or less justifiable, selling Matic and buying Danny feckin Drinkwater is so weird...
Seems like Abramovich can't provide as much funding as before, so club has to sell sometimes. Wonder how Hazard saga will end.

He did underperform for them for a season maybe but for the most part they always regarded him as one of their best players. Weird that suddenly he's only ever been a decent player and nothing else.

I wasn't a fan of signing him when I first heard about it but I'm more then pleasantly surprised by how good he is. Very classy player.

More than that imo I was of the impression he only played up to christmas then dropped off each season, the most recent season the initial level not being too high. Watched a lot of them and he was quite sloppy from the start compared. Wouldn't say he was poor though and has done well here.

Sandro will not be sold by Juventus in January. Perhaps in the summer but I fully expect Man Utd to pay whatever Juventus demands and buy him. The Chelsea board never participates in bidding wars for players as they aren’t willing to stump up the cash. Wait for more zappacosta and barkley type of signings while Conte leaves to join PSG and Hazard and Courtois joins Real Madrid. Hello Ancelotti!

Time will tell!

What on earth are you on about? Cracking up like your gaffer?

Not that I need to explain to you, or anyone else, but it's quite possible to post when a game is on during a break in play. If I hadn't of been working late I'd of been at the match myself.

I think you need a time out from the Caf for your own sanity.
Keep trying pal, the fact that you posted about Conte while a United match was on says everything about how much he has rattled you.

Imagine being preoccupied by a rival manager while your own team is playing....

Excellent meltdown. Would definitely read again.

If laughing at United is a meltdown then guilty as charged.

Who would have known five years without Fergie is all its took to start acting like a small club.

You're great fun. I loved your rant above, 'twas very exciting indeed.

You have Glaston-like potential with your unhinged and ready to blow attitude.

Over / Under that Dancfc doesn't see out the end of the day?
Angry tirades about Utd being a small club might not go down well on a Utd forum

I never said you are a small club, I said the fans are acting like your one, there's a difference.

You're my new favourite rival fan on here. Actually now that I think of it, I've never had one before so welcome to this very exclusive club. I love some entertainment on a Monday afternoon :)

Why would Chelsea make Utd fans angry? Chelsea are still a small club in comparison.
Dunno you tell me. I'm guessing pissing a league title you thought you had in the bag didn't help.

As much as I'd like to return that compliment there's a lot of you having meltdowns so you have to do little more to stand out :)

Ditto, seeing United fans like yourself conducting yourselves like you are West Ham is gold.

I'm sure to you that was a well thought out and witty response, but I didn't get it. Sorry.

Don't know why you're getting so upset over a rival football fans opinion of your manager. Besides he is clearly off his rocker and ready to blow at any minute.

Human beings simply do not act in this manner unless they are mentally unstable. Conte is on the verge of perhaps the greatest meltdown in the history of the game, and we have front row seats for the entire event. This doesn't excite you at all?

Believe me, your meltdown was epic. I'm just an ouel moaner.
Nah that's not really cutting it, your pretty ameutuer compared to The Religions Conte meltdown while his team was playing.

Keep em coming though you might get there one day.

I can almost see the anger bubbling inside of you, almost like your manager. You are so rattled you have gone on to Google to find some pictures.

You are defiently number two ranter but you got to you your game a bit to outdo The Religion choosing talking about Conte over watching that team, now that is spectacular bitterness.

I quite like Conte. I hope he doesn't implode. Would mess up his suit.

Matic had been a good servant but in the last season few were appreciating his contribution as he did not work well with Kante and he was getting on and also wanting to leave.
Agree Bakayoko has been a disappointment to-date part from the odd goal yet it is his first season in the PL and we have not had a settled midfield due to injuries.
I'm told Drinkwater was the replacement for Matic not Bakayoko.

I created those pictures myself with the paintshop app. Never heard of Google.

I know yeah, you are already at the epic meltdown stage with only a couple of hundred posts. I'll have to buck up my ideas if I want to reach your level. You seem annoyed and angry. You should try yoga, I heard it's good for the soul.

Why is the Chelsea fan who is in the middle of a meltdown accusing everyone else of having meltdowns?

I can almost see you slamming the keyboard while you were posting this, so angry, although tbf i would probably get angry if i had to watch Lukaku and Rashford every week

I know it must have been hard seeing Morata blasting shots all over the place against Arsenal, but to be fair, several labelled him the Spanish Welbeck before he arrived... It's ok chick, we know you're rattled, all the smilies you smash into your keyboard with venom won't change that. Get some rest and come back strong as this is weak shit..

Pointless you lot getting rid of Welbeck really as you now have those two "footballers" that make him look like prime Henry

Get some rest Dan, you're being a silly goat now.

Ouch, the rage on this one!!!!

Off his rocker!

I feel Mou's greatest strength is that he's in a permanent state of general loathing, irritability and unwavering arrogance that combines to make him pretty immune to anything anyone says to him. Trading insults with him is like trying to drown aquaman.

In Pep, Klopp and Conte you have 3 managers who, to the outside eye at least, look very susceptible to a complete meltdown should things go belly up. Assuming City continue their form Pep's forehead should remain scratch free this season but Klopp and Conte look set to blow should a bad result or two come their way.

Are you aware of the fact that we currently sit higher in the table than Chelsea?

And Lukaku has more goals than Morata but he basically insinuated that Lukaku is complete wank. He's clearly rattled, I mean he's called about 10 people angry in here already...

Pep is in a constant state of meltdown; and so is actually immune to meltdowns. Every time City concede a goal he gets an extra wrinkle on his forehead. Sniffing cocaine will do that to a man.

Before this season is out, I expect to see at least one of Pep, Conte or Klopp completely lose it live on national TV. I have a bag of popcorn and a crate of Stella stocked up in anticipation for this event.

I feel Conte will be the first to blow, but any or indeed all of them will do fine.
