Premier League Gameweek 29 (3rd - 5th March 2018)

This is the same keeper who did wonders against us.
Salah is a great player but this season his every shot is going in goal. This was not good finishing and still

Will he though?

If this season isn't just a flash in the pan then he surely will.

All top players leave Liverpool when they become good enough, Alonso, Mascherano, Suarez, Coutinho - even Gerrard tried to leave for Chelsea until the councilhouse mob threatened his life.

It really has snuck under the radar - for me at least - how much trouble Southampton are in. They just seem to be sleepwalking towards relegation at the moment.
There's always one team that everyone rules out as safe, only for them to get sucked right in. Saints fixtures in April and May look horrible.

Not watching the game but checked the game stats and Pool have almost 80% possession?? Newcastle sit back and do nothing or what's going on?

Next season teams will double up and foul him at every juncture. It'll be interesting to see how he fares

Jeez what a great save.

Don't tell me Pools keepers are starting to play well now too

We did batter them after they went 1-0 up at home, so they aren't that great away

Liverpool lead 1-0 HT. Newcastle, stupid lapse of concentration aside, have defended well.

Don't see why teams would double up on him next season. Why not do it now isn't he already 30 goals in? If it were that simple he'd be marked out the game already.
Let's buy him. Lol

Aye. I hadn't really paid much attention to them but when I noticed their recent run of form and their run in, I can really see them going down this season. And there's no way they should be allowing that to happen given the players the have and the fact that they would claim to be one of the best run clubs in the league.

He will if he carries on. Every top player leaves that cesspit but I reckon he’ll be shit next year.
I reckon he's on a purple patch, but Klopp's system and the ineptitude of how certain teams set up works to his advantage.

Unless Real are willing to pay silly money, it seems he'll remain for another season at Liverpool.

He'll most certainly remain for another season, but if the form of this season is his actual level, and not just a purple patch, he'll be gone soon enough.

It happens though when players just come into the PL. Start off flying, confidence flowing. Their own self belief etc. Come the second season, teams will set up differently, he will feel he has to match the previous season( which will count for feck all) etc. An injury may take place.

There might even be the inevitable bid or link from Spain

A load of factors may affect his performance

He was nullified until he was left wide open. Good movement from Firmino though.

I think if he remains at the same level, the whole of Egypt will be clamoring for him to join a Spanish club. That Arab-Spanish cultural connect is quite persuasive with so many Real/Barca fans in the Middle-East/North Africa.

Given how half the league are looking over their shoulders to the relegation zone, how we're in the last stage of the season, and how these coaches are paid millions....it's negligent to leave it to next season.

Why aren't they doing it now?

I suspect the answer is they try but the forward players Liverpool push on is overwhelming in this reign of form.

Salah is a good player but the terrible defending from PL teams makes it so easy on him. He is their best player so why is he always finding space behind their LB ?

Plus Egypt is closer, he can nip back for a break

Sometimes defenders are occupied by Firmino.

Wow even looked like De Gea from the slow Mo shots from behind. A keeper keeping us in the lead from the only shot on goal an opposing team usually has.

Of course he will. Liverpool aren't winning any trophies so of course he'll go. Just like Kane at Tottenham.
Surely the concern is clubs like Spurs/Liverpool have demonstrated recently they are able to replace the players they sell on, without it affecting their league positions. Alright, they still haven't gone to the next level (winning trophies) but it's not like they've collapsed like many have predicted.

Kane will be gone in 2019 provided Spurs win nothing this and next season. But I don't see him agitating for a move abroad, just like Salah.

Completely agree. I thought Ronaldo was overrated too when he was breaking records. The defences innit.:lol:

Salah is good but why Liverpool are so dangerous now is because Klopp knows how to find attacking players for his system. If they werent a stepping stone club and held on to their players they may have challenged City this season.

I don't know the answer, he's bamboozled quite a few decent defences, except ours but Jose set up differently and is better defensively than Klopp.

It has to be said that he's a clever player who can find the space even when his side isn't operating at the highest level.
