Neymar Jr | PSG | 2017/2018 performances

And was the top scorer in the CL that season as well. Didn't score a lot of the important goals in that run but he, Suarez, Messi and Iniesta (in the KO games) were what won it for them that year.

He is a great player that I love to watch but all his histrionics wind me up. I don't mind a player buying fouls or going to ground if carrying on gives no advantage but he acts like a bitch with it. Does hold on to the ball a bit long at times too but other than that he's outstanding and the 2nd best player in the world for me.

Are you saying Neymar didn't score a lot of important goals in the 2015 CL run?! He scored in the Final to ice the game, he scored twice against Bayern when they were threatening to make a comeback. Without him Barca don't win that CL, Messi was the best player no question, but Neymar was absolutely crucial.

Were present PSG players, PSG's top management, the coach, his family...Gabriel Jesus, Lewis Hamilton, the true legend Ronaldo as know @Cal? :p and even the President of Brazil turned up to celebrate with Neymar.

You mean the less successful Ronaldo? ;)

Scored today and then just missed a sitter.

Any idea why PSG players are running around in jerseys with their names written in Chinese?

Is this the most relevant Neymar thread?

Rumours are that Neymar 'regrets' his decision to play for PSG and that he wants to return to Barcelona. Emphasis on the word 'rumours'.

What would Barcelona fans think of this?

I wouldn't be surprised if Madrid did all they could to get him. Offer Ronaldo and 50-100 million and I think PSG will have arguably the most marketable player on the planet and as much chance of winning the champions league as they do with Neymar. Doesn't seem that bad of a deal if Neymar isn't fully committed to them.
It's not bad business for Madrid either seeing as they only bought Ronaldo for 80million and have seen him become a club legend.

I'd be amazed if he ever went back to Barca. He seems destined to be the new galatico post Kaka, Ronaldo and Bale.

I'd like to see him coming back, humbling him down, if we didn't have all of our attacking spots covered for the next 4 years with Leo, Suarez, Coutinho, Dembele, and possibly Griezmann + Arthur. No place for him in the near future unless we scramble our current 4 year project.

Why would they sell Neymar for peanuts + Ronaldo (with the huge wages he's on)?.

They can surely milk another year from Neymar, even all the speculations about a possible buyout clause have in context that it would activate in 2019, so they could basically sell the player north of 200M+, freeing wages to rebuild their team (Silva, Alves, Motta, Cavani, Di Maria will be well past their 30's in the 2019 UCL knockout stage) or basically swap for money they don't need and their rebuilding stone for a 35 y/o player in a last hail mary. It would too stupid for anyone to pull that move.

This entire PSG escapade outwardly reflects very poorly on Neymar. Comes across as a colossally entitled egotist. Some of this perception may be the fault of the club and how they present the individual players as greater than the club, the media as well. Not sure how accurate it is, may be a great pro who is easy to work with but I wouldn't be comfortable with Utd signing him, ridiculous as that may be given how good he is.

He’ll go to Real Madrid in the summer after he says Barca “turned him down”... it’s obvious.

This is the same PSG that would rather let Thiago Silva and Verratti spend their contracts rotting in the bench than sell them

They will let him pick the manager or even make him player/manager before they sell him to Real. When he leaves PSG it will be on a free.

Bullshit rumours but pretending it's legit for a moment.. the guy has made a huge mistake (no disrespect to PSG) so I don't think its outlandish he wants out already but I rather we just stick to developing (bad job thus far) Dembele. Neymar burned all his bridges here with the board and most cules after trying to sue the club, the payments to Neymar snr and then almost fecking our summer window up so he can claim is 'loyalty' bonus.

He has a great friendship with Messi, Suarez, Pique and ofcourse Coutinho so I'm sure the players would welcome him back, he also visited the team on numerous occasions.

I don't think he'll join Madrid, probably another season at PSG and then City, he said he wanted to play under Pep and with the revenue the PL brings in rising, a PL transfer would eclipse even his PSG move.

Yep, unless he managed to negotiate a clause in the contract, I don't think him and his father realise what they've got into. Will be in for a rude shock if he thinks he can throw a strop and leave

No one can afford him. He can whine all he wants, he is stuck at PSG for a while.

He wanted a team built around him, he got what he wanted.

Now play in that mediocre less prestigious league for years. He should stop this whining primadona stuff.

Do people in this thread have direct Neymar quotes or are they just randomly saying he’s whining?

Neymar will never be a leader like Messi, Ronaldo. He doesn't have the mentality for it.

Plus remember the lengths to which the PSG sheihks went to keep Verratti? They're going to bit the bullet and change the manager and maybe the entire team around him, but no way he's leaving.

The latest reports on him are hilarious. There’s obviously substance to it as it’s been going on for ages now, he was so unbelievably stupid to go there in the first place.

He’ll be back at Barca or Real within a year.

That's not how the media works. Writing about Neymar sells so they write about Neymar.

He's definitely not leaving, PSG won't sell him and he obviously knew it wouldn't be easy to win the CL in his first season. He didn't even have a proper attempt at it, they got a tough draw and he got injured.

Sorry but I highly doubt there’s nothing to it. Time will tell.

There is some substance to it. MD is like a mouthpiece to this board and Barto, plus Rakitic also said that "He'll hold the door for Neymar to come if it happens". So there's something going on, but I don't think it gonna happen and most of us don't want him back either.

Your public pursuit of Veratti got you in the Neymar situation in the first place, PSG will just activate the clauses of Umtiti etc until you you stop trying to turn their players heads.
