Anyone think Ronaldinho goal was better?
Thats a ridiculous stat
This is not true. Look at City. If you have the money, you get the players. With a Scottish pocket, you don't get the players. Simple.
No idea how people say this, it was a massive fee. Stop looking back at it with recent transfer fees in mind. Fees are so big today in part because of that Ronaldo deal.
In 2009 the world record fee was £48m Real paid for Zidane in installments, it had stood for 8 years and no other fee had really got near it in those 8 years never mind breaking it. The £80m fee for Ronaldo almost doubled it and was paid in a lump sum.
Yes considering the player he became and even the player he was back then we could have got more but the truth is the amount we received didn't really matter in the grand scheme of things because we were selling a player we just couldn't replace. We could have held out for £100m, £120m etc. and what difference would it have really made?
As stated we couldn't replace Ronaldo and whenever a team receives a massive fee for one player whoever they try to sign as replacements their price instantly inflates anyway because the selling club know you have money. Look at Spurs with the Bale money or Barca with the Neymar money. £142M for a player like Coutinho who wouldn't have went for anything more than £60-80m just a few months before and £135m for Dembele when Dortmund signed him the year before for £10-15m.
It's very odd on a Manchester United forum, considering the little fecker scored in two Champions League finals against us.Why is this statement starting to crop up? Not true at all
Levy accepted plenty of bids for his players when he had to. We had no choice by that point, even 08/09 was basically borrowed time. He wanted Madrid no matter what.We need Daniel Levy as our CEO - I said it at the time, stupid crazy decision to accept a bid![]()
And we show him his contract..Levy accepted plenty of bids for his players when he had to. We had no choice by that point, even 08/09 was basically borrowed time. He wanted Madrid no matter what.
True, but I find Zlatan's to be even more impressive. His anticipation and improvisation while running away from goal are truly amazing. The way he took down that ball from that height and managed to put it in the net from such distance is genius.
Well no, kaka and ibra were sold in the same summer for around £50m pounds(ibra was 60 + etoo iirc) so we did undersell him but the main issue wasnt the money. It was not investing it in the team properly. Obertan and Owen to replace Ronaldo and Tevez.
That goal yesterday remembered this:Time and time again the man defies the odds. I have said this before but he is a player that the next generation should look up to in terms of professionalism.
Gerd Muller, Hugo Sanchez, Alan Shearer and Marco van Basten are some of the few players that can match him in the box in his current incarnation.
He has a better team around him than ever. Simple as thatIt's amusing how his record in big games was seen as a negative when he was in his physical prime but he's completely obliterated that notion despite being past his physical prime.
That goal yesterday remembered this:or this
Both were better but this one was done against a bigger opponent.
I was watching today a video of Hugo Sanchez on the Mexican TV explaining that he had long conversations with Cristiano about the "Chilena", and the reason why Hugo scored so many during his carrer was because he started practicing that since he was 4 or 5 years old with his father, and he feels that it was just more difficult for Cristiano because that movement beside the talent needs a lot of training.I think Ronaldo's is more impressive. More distance to cover to get to it, less time to reach it and he also has to get way higher to connect than Sanchez or MVB. Despite all that he hits it as perfectly as anyone ever will. The only thing that you can take away from Ronaldo's goal is that it goes into the bottom corner instead of the top corner, but for me that's irrelevant. Technically it's pretty much the perfect bicycle kick, and it fully encapsulates what a predatory goal machine and physical beast Ronaldo is. I haven't seen better ever.
He had scored one that wasn't given a while ago from a Deco shoulder pass, still rememebr being pissed at this
Hey if you want any sort of consolation I think he was genuinely moved by Juventus fans reaction, the only time I can remember him being well received playing for Real Madrid was when he played vs us and United. For once, I am very happy his wonder goal videoclips will always go together with the applause of my fellow Juve fans at the Stadium, we are clearly past our peak as a team and rebuilding soon but eventually won a few hearts showing genuine appreciation the very moment we had to.
It was the ref. Nani wasn't offside.Ahh yes, didn’t Nani feck up a pretty good goal once too?

Is his 1 game : 1 goal ratio at Madrid still intact?
